  • F the police, F the government, F the bankers... Share and behold. This will happen again.

  • @wideshutuk It's because the people who run the banks and organisations are the same people as those who run the government.

  • Hmmm, some interesting points, though I think any attempt to absolve the rioters of responsibility is wrong. There are plenty of ways to protest that don't involve out and out thuggery, stealing and causing chaos. And as far as the government is concerned, what can they do? Our entire economic system is based upon constant economic growth, and the only sector which this country genuinely has to offer is its financial services ( the largest in the world), they absolutely had to bail them out.

  • These are the types of documentaries they will never show on tv! good work!

  • police killed Mark and beat a girl, they didnt mention that in the house of commons

  • So police murdered Mark then beat a girl, i didnt hear that in the house of commons

  • No, they grew up in this society too. Look towards the greedy banking system, governments and the corporate influence within. This is just the begining, when the collapse comes, and it will, this will look like handbags at dawn.

  • When you work you pay tax into the war machine, I don't work, been unemployed for some weeks now...tell me there is plenty of work for even a mere qualified chef. These kids are not all bad, they have grown up in a country that has for decades pushed them down...If they push back who's takes the blame for that, the parents?

  • Why Do So Many "civilsed people" Say the Same ?

  • when you think about it its beyond words what the banks and goverments have done not only have they fucked us over but the next generations to come it will come to a head though it has to all situations do good or bad big or small if theres one thing i do know about life its that what goes around comes around

  • Lol vodafone avoiding 6bn in tax, read that in Private Eye (read it, last bit of free press in England!) 6bn I also heard was the amount in austerity cuts, so if vodafone paid their bill, we wouldn't be having cuts! But that's hoping politicians aren't corrupt. Their not idiots, their brilliant liars. (except Boris, he really is a buffoon).

  • Before going to blame poverty and poor state welfare for this riot, you need to assess the scale of opportunity available to individuals in Great Britain compared to other third world countries. Some of the poor are abusing the state welfare system. Look at statistics and you would realise that people are unemployed not always due to lack of jobs. They do it so they can choose to live off hard working tax payers than bother with working hard to earn a living.

  • @TKKTism We're not a 3rd world country and shouldn't compare ourselves to one. Part of the problem is that we've been sold a certain quality of life, and it's now being taken away by the ponzi style system. This will cause social unrest. And during a deep recession, with record unemployment, believing the idea that the workshy and scroungers are a major problem is playing right in to the establishment's hands. Your tax is going to pay the national debt that was borrowed in your name.

  • @wideshutuk Totally agree with what you just said unemployment (not excusing it) aint a scratch on the national debt its 6 billion the national debt is in the trillions. Totally agree playing in to the establishments hands divide and conquer tactics.

  • @wideshutuk. Yes, Britain is not a third world country but does that mean its people need to be less responsible for their actions? All the top OECD countries worked their way to their current state of wealth.

True, the recession has a significantly increase unemployment level but you are trying to link this rise of unemployment factor as a cause for thugs to loot shops.

MoJ statistics is more consistent with majority convicted rioters having poor work ethics than having recently lost work.

  • @TKKTism I'm trying to stay disconnected here. I'm not supporting the rioters...but it is what it is. If we were prosperous and had a booming economy, with beefed up public services, do you think this would have happened? The recession and cuts and inequality IS why this happened. It doesn't make it right, but when society is squeezed from the top down, the bottom is gonna go first.

  • @wideshutuk. Accepting these facts is not about playing into establishment's hands but having the guts to face reality.

  • @TKKTism I agree...I'm personally totally against the Welfare state...people need to learn to be independent of Government if they want freedom. But quickly yanking the rug away away while we have elitist out-of-touch crooks with no credibility at the top, is not gonna work.

  • Lock all rioters and bankers up, let fair and civilised people live on and rebuild the country.

  • Great documentary. You have really done your research.

  • they should have got the person who did the exceuted instead of taking it out on everyone .. if i wanted to be a cop I change my mind now .. the cops are wicked and racist. and killing blacks for years since slavery it looks like that slavery never ended so burning should not stop either . they have to protect them selves. now whites are targeted too. labelled poor whites trash .. nagas risin

  • typical story, rich white guys ruining everyone's lives

  • why do docs like this always have groovy reggae backing tracks?

  • @splinterbyrd Cos I is down with da kids.

  • @wideshutuk I like you :0)

  • What's the opening track man?

  • @Gmancrap Damu The Fudgemunk - L.B - off the Spare Time album.

  • Hey thanks man! And superb documentary! Even if you don't agree with it you can't deny that it was well put to gather!

  • Great doco, thanks!

  • @13:33 - respect to that black dude

  • I was there smashing shop windows, I looted oxfam

  • Has anyone one ever wondered that the owners of the shops that were looted probably made more money collecting money from their insurance companies...(false claims etc)

  • @demarcos69 What are you trying to say?

  • Darcus Howe always sounds like he has his old balls in a vice

  • The riots manifested themselves because of the way the police conduct themselves generally, this kind of cocky arrogant, you'll do what I f*ckin' say or else, kind of approach is not the way for to conduct policing, the police in this country are in force via consent of the public. There are alot of "bad elements" in the younger generations, but the police need to be firm but fair to maintain order and protect the public, but at the same time conduct themselves with integrity. Imo anyway....

  • fuck the government

    hope the riots happen again

  • a eye opener, think alot of people need to watch this doc all the way thru before commenting

  • This would not happen if you did not have jungle and desert bunnies. you are paying for your sins of the commonwealth, have you ever heard of ethnic cleansing ?

  • @1820sept With an opinion like that I'm guessing your name refers to your date of birth being September 1820

  • video couldnt be more biased

  • I'd be curious to know what percentage involved in what kind of disorderly action during the riots were muslims.

  • anybody know who that tune is by at the very beginning?

  • They dont have a futer so they think fuck it and they dont have a future because of the cuts!

  • Id bet my home that hardly any of the rioters had a clue about corporate greed or foreign policies..this was just materialistic greed. The i want generation. There's no excuse on earth for fucking up the lives of people in your own neighbourhood. These fuckers had homes and food.they also wanted gold and new phones.they don't give a fuck about the economy coz they get free money anyway.

  • @hebay2 what a load of sociological nonsense. three words: Distribution of wealth.

  • @bulwine i agree 100% with wealth distribution i come from a deprived part of London..do you ?? these prats would struggle to read a bus time table or name anyone other than the PM..i lived their lives..they only care about image and what they possess..everything else is a convenient excuse..barely any would take a job if it was offered to them..coz then they couldn't get stoned and play games all day..you haven't got a clue at all..were they stealing food ?? no..cloths, jewellery and phones

  • Apparently kfc and the job centers were the two safest places

  • The citizens need to keep the government in check. If the government continues to blame riots on solely "hooligans" and not try to understand the other reasons these riots are going to keep happening.

  • @20stafford09 you are beyond living in the past if you think England owns the world.

  • This is simply the most awful documentary I have ever seen. They dont go into anything deep at all, the reasons behind the actions of the police. You're a narrowminded fool if you think this is the "inside story".

  • You need to learn how to watch documentary. Act like a sponge. Absorb the information you want and filter out the stuff you don't want...

  • And they shall do in Edom according to mine anger, and I shall lay my vengeance on the assholes who spoil my people like fucking dogs and they shall be fucked up beyond Babylon with a perpetual hatred and the leaders shall fall like bitches that wait to kill the innocent and they shall lay in there own shit and be killed and death shall be repaid from the Most high God.

  • Poms doing what poms do best!, keeping up appearances! lol

  • @Amunication don't be so fucking immature you cunt.

  • Best solution - nuke England ??

  • @84Tyr fuck off you twat england owns the world! its a fact you might not want to belive but we control all foreign policy! ask any american with a brain they will tell you the truth

  • whats the track at the start?

  • The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.' Ronald Reagan

  • All main parties seem incapable of running a balanced budget. Its all got to be paid back by future generations. Government spending whether its on Bailing out Banks, Wars or Incentivising people to remain unemployed is bringing the country to its knees. Government providing everything for us robs us of choice and turns us into children as they tax us more and more to spend on us because they always know whats best for each individual.

  • This is a good video, very well made. I like the voice over and the edit.

  • ha ha ha i for one am laughing my ass off because when the shit really hits the fan the numbers of them compared to common man is well that's why im laughing there shiting themselves and they want your kids kids to fit the bill for there fuck up ha aha ah ahn a pure fucking arrogance the police common man and military need to combine against these BANKER CUNTS and start a new society with out money and if there is money then supply it equally to all

  • don't support banker related company's find out who they are support mum and dad shops and company's its a start

  • This video should have 10,000,000 views.

  • to those who experience life in England this is just normal.

  • I do not beleive for a second the riots were justified. The right to protest at the shocking use of police brute force is. They shouldve concentrated efforts on them, not wider society.

Oh, and basically saying 'how dare that woman have a business she put hard work in to get going' is pathetic. I just finished being a student and sometimes im saddened that I was painted with the same 'must be an anarchist' brush as you.

  • @OnikageShinto Your points are valid...I am simply explaining why the riots happened. I am not justifying them. I would never justify violence, that just gives the state more power. And yes we do have a sick consumerist society, but we also have deep inequality. So of course people are going to take. We were lied to , the country was never wealthy, everything was on credit, it was a debt, it was artificial , but we became accustomed to it, now it's being taken away we react from the bottom up.

  • @OnikageShinto And yes I do sympathize with anarchist philosophy, but most of the anarchists you see on TV are not anarchists or they at least don't have very PR. I'm more of a free market libertarian. So I don't agree with Government handouts at all, but it's not the people who should be blamed, they didn't crate the system.

  • @wideshutuk Libertarianism is anarchy for rich people :P

cynicism aside, I like your reply. Im sorry for being offensive initially.

Another factor in all this is that these riots took place where the Government has affectively 'ghetto-ised' minorities. Which of course festers more anger and dis-illusionment with those in power.

What system would you put in place if per chance the current one went away? Thats my main stumbling block in the counter argument, a reliable counter capitalist system.

  • @OnikageShinto Although I've been to Occupy London I am by no means an anti-capitalist. In my opinion the problems right now are caused by the state giving "crony" capitalists power over the freemarket. Aka the banker bailout, the corporate tax breaks, the government going only to private financiers and borrowing money instead issuing their own currency debt free, and the ability for corporations to lobby. Basically I'd flip all that around.

  • @OnikageShinto You should do some research on Webster Tarpley, and Buckminster Fuller. If Tarpley was forced to be president, my dreams would be become reality. His blog at Tarpley.net is amazing. He has a 5 years infrastructure plan that would modernise the world using a capitalist system.

Webster Tarpley da man. His recall and general knowledge is amazing, not to mention the rest.

PS. A resouce-based economy would work... that is if lazy workshy handout people stopped being robots. Peace X

  • @OnikageShinto how wide is your society does it include scotland and nortjhern ireland, i felt harmony with those people, having had very little in my life and no passport,i couldnt afford unviersity i have work and drove even lived london a few years, i failed every thing i guess, so i find it interesting these boris people that live there in london and can walk proud pass the war memorials of are grandmothers brothers serving this great uk. i dislike conservatives,

  • @OnikageShinto

Riots are seldom "justified" - they do not need to be justified - riots happen when a section of society feels frustrated - an expression of anger. A riot is, by definition, a lawless assembly - the gutter speaking to the establishment.

It is better that the police do not shoot harmless people and beat young girls with their batons - these are illegal acts against the person - a riot is an illegal act against property - much less serious.

  • @bucko386 sorry, but putting houses on fire is not less serious.

  • The problem is this: we have a sick consumer society, where people they beleive they DESERVE everything without any work being put in. Where does this sense of entitlement come from? Guilt? When you are badgered by TV that you're nothing until you have an xbox or a big screen TV it affects you and turns you into a complete moron.

Yes, there is media control, yes there is incompetance in politics, yes the bankers have fucked us, but trashing everything isnt a response to it. Cont..

  • You had me until you started insulting me at the latter part of the video.

Its the 1970's. My mum and Dad, Grandparents all told me about the pile of corpses in London because the gravediggers were on strike. there was only electricity for 3 days of the week. Unemployment was rising. Times were hard. But was there mass rioting and looting from the people?

    NO!! There wasnt. Continued...

  • Tottenham has an 8% unemployment rate but 54 people who are looking for work for every 1 job .... now that does not add up??

  • 23:17-23:26 is the best part of this video simply because it is just so funny.

  • Everyone is bonded by corporate slavery the day our parents unknowingly register us.

  • i saw a video where it was claimed blacks provoked the attacks from police. im posting this BEFORE i watch this video, i'll post again AFTER to see what i think then.

  • Epedemic. Epliogue. Good job.

  • Fast forward to 22:48.."Enforcing responsibility", well Mr.Cameron...where was YOUR responsibility when you GAVE OUR money to fraudsters..AKA Banks! At the end of the day ALL banks including the Bank of England are registered as PRIVATE Corporations!!!!! Now thats Total corruption, steming from our elected leaders!!!!

  • They need German Officers to learn Discipline and Courage

  • It's true, peasants are stupid and it is best they do not run the country, HOWEVER, one must admit that they have some merit to there feelings. Also, 14 mins.. LOL

  • If Guns where Legal in London Those Shop Owners would have Protected there Businesses.

  • great video ((^_^)) Namaste

  • The Jarrow marchers were poor and hungry people and real heroes. They did not burn buildings and hurt innocent human beings. We could learn something from Communist Russia and China. You didn't get yobs in those countries rioting. In fact you didn't get anyone rioting there.

  • Forget little ole england,Those days are finished!.

  • hows the song at the end called?

  • Excellent documentary.

  • It was 13 years of Labour Goverment that bought us to this situation.Greedy Bankers crashing the system,Opening the floodgates to Immagration,Illegal wars,Joining the Euro on the sly,An unelected Prime minister who crashed us even further into debt then the Economy was about to go on the fritz.Stealth Taxing the poor.Lack of job abd education opportunitys for the younger Generation and a retarded benefit system were you can sit on your arse and claim more money then going to work.

  • Awesome video - with young people like you I really believe we have a future - keep up the good work - Thank you

  • 22:50 Cameron on council house luxury

  • quis custodiet ipsos custodes

  • The consequences of not 'bailing out the banks' would have been extremely severe both socially and economically. You're attitude to it displays an idiocy that immediately lowers the credibility of any other views expressed in this video.

  • Economically severe to who? The elite who made bad business decisions, the elite that gambled and the elite that tried to make profits off obscene amounts of untraceable borrowed money because they knew they could get a corporate welfare check at the end of it anyway. All we're doing by bailing them out is panning a sinking ship; prolonging the inevitable, and encouraging them to continue. The entire monetary system is screwed.

  • Comment removed

  • @wideshutuk The Great Depression provides a useful historical parallel. Numerous banks failed during the early 30s; they were not 'bailed out'. The economic consequences were indeed very severe, not just for an 'elite' (slightly ambiguous term, I fear) but also for the lower and middle classes. Indeed it can probably be argued that during past economic crises like the 'Great Depression' the lower classes suffered disproportionately compared with their wealthier compatriots.

  • @dalisback1 As you may know the cronies at the Federal Reserve were one of, if not THE primary cause of the Great Depression by contracting the money supply. The uber wealthy then picked up the remains for pennies on the dollar. The problem with the banking system is it's in private hands. No bailouts is one thing, but we also need to completely reform the system. IMO a real bailout would be bailing out anyone who had deposits in a failed bank, not propping that bank up.

  • @wideshutuk Lets not make any bones about it, bailing banks out that choose to issue bonuses whilst our tax money pays their running costs is uncredulous. One false fact amongst many true facts doesn't make the truth a false positive. Fact is fact. Lets remember that money is a great tool to control not just the banks but the people inadvertently. The Great Depression was an instrumental strategy by the stake holders of the Bank of America for the stake holders... who were? x

  • @wideshutuk thanks, this was excellent.

  • @wideshutuk /watch?v=6G24O0iHOVQ

  • Wow - I haven't seen this much bullshit since Loose Change got released.

Maybe police will stop searching and stopping young black people when they stop shooting and stabbing each other.

  • i think its clear that sumthing is wrong with are system and the only way out of this mess is civil disobedeance. the next time the people riot, we sould ALL take to the streets burn dwn every bank, burn dwn the house of commins sack every mp assissinate every banker over take the lying media stations and kick out those fucking royal family in the street and c how thay survive. you cant stop the globel awakening so you might as well join our cause as its for the greater good. one love people.

  • Well done. Sad thing is...is that in the US police have been killing people as far back as I can remember and the only time we rioted over police brutality was the Rodney King deal. I don't have enough space in this comment field to list the names of all of the people killed by our police since then. So I wonder what is going to be the "spark" that ignites the US population to rise up?

  • Could you please change the license to Creative Commons? It would allow us to have a public screening. Thanx.

  • I wouldnt completley blame the ferrel youth of today. This has been stoking up for 13 years and finally the volcano has exploded.See while I was watching this back in 1997 like everybody else I was ignorant in not realising a younger Generation was growing up around this while I was still reaping the benefits of cheaper Study Fees and the ability to walk into a job the next day no problems even if it was a shitty job. This is Labours Legacy and the Coalition are trying to gadaffi state the uk.

  • Alot of good points were made in this Documentary. The killing of Duggan no matter how much of a Drug dealing scumbag he was is unjustified if he was killed unlawfully.13 years of Labour failing the people and a failed benefit state leading to a lost generation.I disagree with pointing the finger at Race aswell.I saw all creeds out there that day getting in on the riots. To say its one culture is narrow minded. The picture is alot bigger then ferrel youth. You need to look at our Goverment

  • It just seems like our freedoms are being infringed upon, especially after 9/11. In America we have already lost most of the freedoms which our founding fathers intended the constitution to protect. We have illegal wars, prohibition on all but alcohol, and countless laws being made which the Supreme court will not deem unconstitutional because of their personal beliefs about what is right for our country. Most citizens have been deprived of freedoms that would allow them to live happily .

  • How to contain future riots? This may seem like some idiotic conspiracy theory but if GB continues to cut police personnel at such staggering rates then that gives the government a good argument to bring in military forces to break up future riots. The possibility of a police state is there. I'm not saying that is what is going to happen but given the laws instituted in the West in the 20th century, which crush our few remaining liberties, future western police states are certainly plausible.

  • I disagree with rioting as a means to get a message across, after all those buisnesses that were burnt down and property that was damaged were ordinary people and in most cases hard working law abiding citizens, however i can see the anger in this country because of the osterity measures that are being forced upon everyone in order to keep the richest minority of this country wealthy. we need a fairer society to enable us to move forward, tax payers in the UK are bing robbed and looted.

  • I live in the U.S. and unless you got on the internet and dug deep you were made to believe that these riots were started for no reason at all. And honestly I feel like this should happen here soon but you know what? We are too lazy and let our own government step all over us. Its sad to know that a father had to die to send people over the edge!

  • Damn good,excellent doc.

  • Clear Documentary on the riots, but these events are just the starting symptoms of a much bigger disease.

  • I could sum up the riots in much less time that this documentary or the government are taking. One sentence in fact: Just belligerent chavs causing needless destruction because they haven't got enough brain cells to think about what they are doing.

  • london, egypt, greece, fuck the police.

people did some stupid shit during these riots but for the most part i'm with them. fighting the cops, getting wild in the streets, having a great time doing it.

  • Only the paroles can save us! the rest of the nation is a sleeping giant! 1984 is approaching!

  • could do with fixing the spelling of those words that zip by... 'epilogue' being one.

  • This is fantastic.

  • England and USA, these two nations have a very volatile trade for me the next world power China could have a culture to be more respect for people not get into the internal affairs of our sister nations and its economy is shielded .. is a great example of China's population ...

  • @crsbt I don't think its as black and white as you quite make it out to be. What do you think the root cause of the poor education, poor diet and late nights are? The effects of poor society can be seen as a byproduct of the political decisions made years ago which has seen society slowly decline.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sorry, some of this is very good, but other parts are very unfair; talking about your opinion of Libya and the government's motives are your own, and shouldn't be muddled with other matters. The banking system, although ridiculous and unfair in many cases, unfortunately is the only thing we have to sustain our economy, which is why it's already rocky from the bailout, but we can't afford to let the banks leave for better deals elsewhere or we all have nothing.

  • @guardianXangle google 'The Money Fix' and you will see that we do have alternatives to the current banking system. 'We can't afford to let the banks leave for better deals elsewhere or we all have nothing' is like slaves saying, 'we can't let the masters free us or we have nothing'! WE HAVE TO STOP BEING SLAVES!

  • I see that the cowardly racists are yet ranting on this video. Too bad for them. Minorities are taking over and they are dying out. Loved the video. Wonderfully made. Bravo!!! Bravo!!!

  • Bunch of niggers and wiggers taking the opportunity to loot for free stuff and cause mindless destruction. Then they blame everyone but themselves for not having a better life and use this to justify there actions. Seen if before, will happen again.

  • @lemonjellies

you know that you actually give people credibility by disagreeing with them in this way?

seriously. by saying niggers you make yr opinion immediately invalid, no one has any sympathy for you. even if you'd personally been beaten or had your house or shop burnt in these riots, i'd dance in the ashes. if these folks have offended you that's a good sign, because clearly you are offended by the freedom or wellbeing of nonwhites.

    go die.

  • @lemonjellies you know that you actually give people credibility by disagreeing with them in this way?

seriously. by saying niggers you make yr opinion immediately invalid, no one has any sympathy for you. even if you'd personally been beaten or had your house or shop burnt in these riots, i'd dance in the ashes. if these folks have offended you that's a good sign, because clearly you are offended by the freedom or wellbeing of nonwhites.

one thing is true, this will happen again. and again.

  • Shame the riots didn't last longer.

  • If another "credit crunch" comes (which is almost sure) I feel all the population of the UK should not give in to more cuts but get out on the street and get rid of this government who don't give a shit about the people they govern !! Because if they did this would not have happened !!

  • TPUC.ORG....... !

  • THIS IS VERY GOOD

  • there's always a fucking root cause and it's clearly obvious to most conscious minded people, but unfortunately, in this world.. bullshit, ignorance and stupidity is rampant and people don't realize or question anything.. the news is full of shit... wake up.

  • This Video correctly identifies Baksters as the problem. Weaken the police force with layoffs so martial law can be introduced to pound the people into slavery. Of course politicians will say the rioters are thugs and vandals, because, To recognise the cause of the riots, Exposes political corruption and the takeover of soveriegnties by banks. Cancer/ rioters are aggressive and distructive but what caused it? Carcinogins: corrupt bankers, politicians and police. Address the cause not effect.

  • White people are wakeing up to how u realy are and it will all turn around on u soon.

  • U don't know who I am but I can tell who u are. U are a coloured white person who likes the ass more than pussey right. Or am I wrong. That pussey is not tight enough for u nigger. • Doesn't it say in the bible, An eye for an eye, A tooth for a tooth? This was a 'RIOT' by BOTH black AND white! The greedy and the opportunist. People will only take so much from their O so rich pilfering governments before we say enough is enough. And it's not just England. We don't blink an eye when other countries RIOT! It's about time the world knew that England is NOT the land of the free!

  • Best documentary ive seen about the truth of the state of UK. If every household in the UK watched this then maybe something would change about our corrupt system.

  • Decent documentary but i think the person who made it is somewhat missing the point when he starts talking about the cost of the riots. You can't compare the cost of rioting to the huge amounts of money that need to be invested into the economy. However i completely agree about spending the guy talking about spending some of the money from Libya into this country. And also i think a lot of people signed the bill to remove benefits in the heat of the moment, it was clearly not realistic.
