Note, I said I am looking forward to the new movie, because I think it uses elements from all the current forms of the Mansion/Manor and doesn't make it campy/corny like the 2003 Eddie Murphy film did.

Phantom Manor has a more solid storyline, with Melanie and the aforementioned Phantom, of course. This is not the case with the Mansions, where we have Captain Blood & his bride, the love triangle between "Ghost Host" Master Gracey & "Bleeding Heart" Bride Emily & jealous seer Madame Leota (hence her illegit daughter, Madame Leota), and the whole thing with "Black Widow Bride" Constance and The Hat Box Ghost, who's rumored to return. Looking forward to the new movie, too!

EEP! The MC and his bride were creepy, and the Haunted Mansion in Paris looks more gruesome. That said, I would've preferred to see more of the MC since he was much scarier than the Disney villains and more entertaining.
