yes, quite cold. The car had been sitting in an underground garage for about 8 hours on a chilly spring day. It quieted down a bit when it warmed up, but it was still fun to hear.
I think the supercharger goes through some type of warm up stage during cold starts. Just finished making a custom cold air intake for my 2002 sportcoupe, and about 20 seconds into cold start you can hear pressure release. Right as that happens the rough idle stops, and the supercharger quiets down...
damn i love that sound wish my dads benz made that noise. He has a 99 c230k i love driving to school in it it looks bad ass on rainy days the black paint looks glossy ,kinda looks like some mafia car lol
Hey I've looked all around for a cold air intake system but none are made for a c230 kompressor. Where and How do I get one, ive been looking for months
hell yeah, i have a 99 c230 Kompressor, 19" black dubs lowered black window tint, and the sound the kompressor gives from inside is amazing, my dad had one for 5 years, then sold it. I missed driving it so much that when i was 18 I bought one haha.
Oh haha really! Jap's? Nice like what? rx-7, supra? You should get a supra that would be a smoking investment! Just grab a couple turbo's and off to the tracks. Well thank's you gotta love the american muscle! Go for toyota or honda there a good starter car and you can mod them if your into that. If you lucky and find a supra you've just came across a rare car to find.
Wow nice car! I'm not a fan of euro's that much but I give you total respect. I have 66' mustang coupe witha paxton novi 2000. It goes got around 480 ath the rear wheels. Nice little street machine. Still working on the interior the engine is done but the interior is a 8 out of 10.
Damn, that's a lot of power. I've never been a huge domestic fan, but I'm getting more and more into them, but I've always liked classic American muscle. I just don't think they make them like they used to. I'm also not a great fan of euros, which is why I'm trying to sell the car ($250 for an oil change is getting old). Back to Japanese I go!
Yeah, actually. One night driving between St. Louis and Indianapolis on an empty highway in the middle of Illinois. Under other circumstances I wouldn't have tried it, and I don't suggest it. The car was remarkably stable at speed though.
HP stock is 185 and the butt dyno suggests this upped it about 4 or 5 horses. What do you mean by topped out? Hit the speed limiter? If so, then yes. This has since been taken off my car though. I miss it now that it's gone!
New Zealand. It was custom made for someone with a W202 C230k there, who sold it because he was turning to a turbocharger for forced induction. I've actually sold this to a guy in California, as I'm trying to sell my 202.
Yeah, I should note that this is with a cold motor, in a loud garage, with the windows down, and also that my gauges do not show up blue unless on video for some reason.
i wouldn't exactly call the eaton on the M111 massive...

I was referring more to the noise than the supercharger itself. yeah, the power wasn't great.

awesome sound i like that
Croucer2 2 years ago
what year 230k is this? from the interior it looks older than an '02, but im not enitrely sure.
the extreme whine of supercharger in this video also is most likely because of the acoustics in the underground garage.

do you have any pictures of your intake?

you're lucky. I'd love one of those, but they are way bad for taxes for where I live (belgium) :(

Can we get another video of it outside of the garage? It sounds pretty good so far...
sleeksilver 4 years ago
the intake was taken off over three months ago because I'm selling it. It was much less obnoxious outside, but still drew some stares.
ksportbenz 4 years ago
haha No I meant top speed lol sorry about the confusion lol! Yeah did you hit the limiter at top speed? what was it?
Shifterkartsforlyfe 4 years ago
The limiter is placed at 130 because that was the limits of the H-rated tyres I have on the car.
ksportbenz 4 years ago
Whats the horsepower like? And have you topped out?

Ah ok! With a cold motor the kompressor whines very loud! A beatiful sound! Airwolf like... :D
Have a good day my friend...and always keep the K howling!

Booah...i love that Kompressor Sound!!! But why is it soooo loud?! Because of the garage?
