Respond to this video... and i would also like to know the theme / or similar themes like in the video cuz that looks AWESOME and im just not a good theme finder
thats easy...just create a status bar to be on the top and delete the other one, make sure you move the icons that stay in the status bar to the upper one.
read the other comment for the info on the theme...
as for the icons, just search around for whatever image you want to use, i like using png files. save the file(s)..on the desktop right-click and create launcher, name it and enter in the website to the address you want it to go to including the h-t-t-p part of the address, then right click the new launcher and change the icon img.....then stretch the img to make it whatever size you like.
I'm switching to Ubuntu Linux 10.04. Is it better than Windows and Mac? I've watched many videos about Ubuntu especially the ones endorsing Compiz. Is it true that Ubuntu Linux doesn't consume a lot of storage space compared to Windows and Mac?
@marcmg42 i will say it does take some getting use to at first and to kind of "ween" yourself off Windows...but after using it for awhile now, i actually prefer it over Windows, there are still a few things that annoy me when i can't just click and download something, but with google and ubuntu forums you can pretty much always find the answer to any problem that may come up...as for storage: my laptop has a 120GB HD and after installing ubuntu &other stuff i still had ~100GB of freespace left.
Welcome to opensource linux :) even though i dont like ubuntu. i would still give you a kudos for trying out a new system. I personally prefer linux mint :) its based on ubuntu but has all teh bugs fixed in it. cya around
thanks for the welcome....i've learned more and more about open-source and ubuntu and i continue to like it over Windows, except for certain things like photoshop and a few other minor things. i will look into linux mint.
@mikeello35 its the GLX-Dock (Cairo-Dock with OpenGL).
just go to: Applications>Ubuntu Software Center>then search "Cairo" get the one with OpenGL because there is one without OpenGL.
i believe the theme i installed from gnome-look changed the icons on the top panel AND the dock. i'm just getting use to ubuntu, but already prefer it over windows.
ooss fuck yeah im getting ubuntu

you can find a lot of vids on here how to do it....
install CCSM and then search for the extended add-ons for it and then if you need to you can set it up on sphere and then restart the system
