alls you need to do to skank (if yur right handed) just flick that right wrist and mute those strings with yur left hand just for a slight second. give you a perfect, raw sounding "chuck". to get the best most rootsy sound with skanking just remember less is more. just make the initial "chick" and "chuck" sounds. you dont need all that hittin-the-first-root-note for a bass filler or all that slappin. just skank and sing. dope vid, wish i had a camera! but i do got heaps a tunes up on my channel

yeah since i watched this the first time, ive been practicing a little with it, its really not all that hard but its a lot of fun!whenever i play reggae i always kinda tap the body of the guitar on beat, prolly cuz it makes it easier to play the chord chops on the off beat. thanks alot fo postin this though man! opened my eyes to a whole new way of playing reggae on acoustic!
