Listen to me the goldfish is fine!!!!!! As long as the temp is good for the tropicals its fine, i may sound like an ass but its true. Dont forget that goldfish are some of the hardiest fish out their and I have mixed them with tropicals just fine! People quit getting your undies in a bundle cause a goldfish is mixed, he looks happy and probably is.

actually i keep a telescope moor in my tropical tank and hes active and healthy has been for a long while. im wondering how people in hot countries keep goldfish in ponds outside? wouldnt the water be tropical temperature? (rant over) love the tank and your fish !!!!

I'd like to explain what Jeni1994 said a little further.

These conditions are bad for the goldfish because they are supposed to live in much colder water. Your goldfish can't get enough oxygen in the tropical aquarium because the heat will drive the oxygen out. You'll start seeing behaviour like gasping at the water surface and as a result your fish could get swim bladder and if nothing will be done about the condition it will eventually die.

nice tank and fish! y did someone say goldffish cant eat tropical fish flakes?, they can, mine does, i wouldnt have normally have done it, but there was goldfish eggs on a plant i brought, he hatched in my tropical community tank and has grown on to around 3 inches at a constant 79-80, he seems healthy enough, i know it shouldnt really be done, but people on here just go mad all the time when people do it, mines not dead yet, niether is this one (i hope lol), so it can be done succsusfully

Ur tank looks lovely but plz remove your goldfish from that setup and put in another tank with other fancy goldfish ie moors, oranda etc. I was mis-sold a CAE (Stig) and he bullied goldfish and tetras alike. Stig is about 6 now and lives happily on his own eating algae wafers.

Little feeding tip for you, feed ur fancy goldfish sinking food if poss as it limits the amount of air it takes in and lowers the chance of swimbladder probs :) Hope info is helpful and good luck with ur fish keeping.

it wont be enough, but i would save up and get a mirror-back 30 gallon, like i have. u can fit alot more fish too.

currently i have

3 ghost catfish

1 spiney peacock eel

1 emrald green cory catfish

3-7 tetras ( not neon, short and long fin black widows)

along with a state of the art filter, a great heater, a thermometer, a bubble maker-thing, decorations and plants for just around $125.00

so i would save your money.

whoa now buddy i'm just a begginer and i think clown loaches and tiger barbs go together like heaven. but i think your barbs will kill your tetras if they haven't already because tiger barbs are mildly violent fin-nipping fish. and i think your goldfish and those tropical's tempuratures don't match up but i think i may be wrong there.-- sorry to be a critic but if everything's ok now i think you've proved that enough barbs and they'll only chase eachother and may your aquarium last years more

Absolutely not. Clownfish are saltwater. Clown Plecos are freshwater. Just because it has the word "clown" in it, it does not mean they are related.

For one gold fish should be kept in cold water. Which none of your fish are gold water beside the gold fish. Plus tiger barbs are fin nipping fish and that gold fish is a pretty slow moving and big finned fish so your gold fish could easly be killed by the barbs.

I'm moving my fantails into my outdoor pond. I asked a bunch of questions on Yahoo Answers and they all say I need a bigger tank. But because I can't get a bigger tank I'm moving them outside and putting new fish, maybe dwarf gouramis and some schooling fish, into the tank. :)

One Goldfish in a Large tank with a good quality filter will go fine , if you had a tiny tank with a cheap filter with a school of them it would be another story + there are a lot of freshwater fish out there that will be happy with a temperature of about 72 which goldfish will survive in.

no!! it is unsafe to the tropical fish because goldfish make a lot of poisonous *to other fish* toxins through their waste. also tropical fish are warm water *75-80 degrees* and goldfish are cold water fish *65-70* if you put goldfish in with tropical fish, they will be sluggish and UNhealthy. if you put tropical fish in cold water, they WILL get sick and most likely die. long story short, goldfish with goldfish ONLY!!!
