@BiteMyCrank69 Ahh wouldn't say that, Sure he went on to Become very successful with Yazoo & Erasure, then there's all his production work, Sure Depeche Mode wouldn't have made the same music with him still around as Martin Gore took over songwriting duties... Get yer facts straight!
@BiteMyCrank69 if your talking about Best he didnt leave he was kicked out of the Beatles, and Im glad Vince left because I dont think the DM would have been as big with him, because Gore took the band into the future, with Clark in the band, they would would have probably wound up in the mid eightys like most of the other synth pop bands, Gore took them on further and as a result they became great.
i remember when i went to coachella a few years ago and they sang this as an encore!!!!!!!!!!! sooooooooooooooooo happy!!!!!!! must say the effects were way better, LOL
i remember when i went to coachella a few years ago and they sang this as an encore!!!!!!!!!!! sooooooooooooooooo happy!!!!!!! must say the effects were way better, LOL
@beepollen1 Yes, this was the year my mom graduated from high school, so they're about the same age - not exactly a relevant fact, but I find it interesting that they were my age here. Heroin does seem to get the best of them; thankfully he didn't let it get the best of him ultimately, seeing as he's still alive and apparently still putting on some great shows.
This is them at their best early in their career...its raw....the drum machine is amazing....simple but highly effective.....This was on a short lived programme Something Else....which began in the Punk days.....the song has a classical influence and could almost be played by violins and string section instruments

Maybe I'm old, but this looks like yesterday, or every 100 haircuts from my youth. With a video like this you can see how DM went from ordinary guys to mega stars. By the time I first saw them live, '86 or '87 they were much darker, antimated, and performing the biggest venues.
@Wehategod yes and no, yeah vince was in depeche when they formed but obviously aint now, this is when he wrote the songs, although i think martin gore writes better tunes.
