  • this is good

  • if anyone thinks this is anything other than a mock of the genre, check out Bowie & Jagger, 'Dancin in the streets'

  • I like this....

  • Blotto shows in the 80's were such a fucking good time! Some of the best live performers I ever saw.

  • This sounds like something from RHPS.

  • Punk rock scene? This is not a punk song! The Vapors were more punk than this.

  • Not the worst video, but it could be the worst lyrics.

  • This isn't the worst video ever, it's the best.

  • Blotto rocked. Andstill does, apparently, sans the late Cheese Blotto, God rest his soul. They had/have talent and humor. Not a bad combo pack.

  • Blotto weren't serious though.

  • I heard this song once or twice on the radio as a kid and it NEVER LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Haven't heard it since then till now. That's like 30 years of humming this or singing in my head.

  • fuck no this song is awsome :P

  • C'mon- have a sense of humor! My albany boys have a special place in my heart.

  • I accually kinda like it.

  • jew rock

  • i like the little coke reference slipped in there all inconspicuously ~ 3:12 lol

  • happy that is still getting comments. Thank you blotto.

  • Did they make a video of "We Are The Now Tones"?

  • The concept is great--it's very 80s. The performances are good, too, albeit cheesy but not too cheesy for the 80s. What the video lacks is a sense of direction, someone to rein in the different images and present them in a way that the brain can better process the message.

  • Honestly? Its kinda catchy.

  • 'microview' indeed...

  • MAN BOOBS!!!!!!!!!!! they kinda remind me of the cars and kinks put together but in a nerdy way

  • Damn!! Used To be one when it was COOL!!!! Back in the 80's when women were HOT!!!

  • white stuff on my noooooooooooose!!!!

  • ... i actually like this >.<

  • better then the shit today

  • poop!

  • I thought this video was a hallucination I had when I was a kid.

  • My wife and I saw these guys in NYC a handful of times . . . great, fun songs, wish there were more videos. It's Not You always makes me laugh (I think they're singing about my family :-) . . .). As long as I'm wishin' it'd be fun to hear the last words that come to mind, something like "let's eat, let's eat, you gotta move move move move move your teeth." ROTFL

  • @ZepposNonno I saw them to in Poughkeepsie NY back in the day. Loved their tune "Metal Head" and "It's not you. It's your family that I can't stand".

Didn't know they had a video. Boy the '80s was cheesy. ;-)

  • Useless trivia fact >>> This video was 34th video played on MTV's very first day !

  • @lpgft Lol... Yes, and the FIRST video played on MTV was "Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles.

  • When he was pulling opening his jacket,I thought it would say SUPER-MAN!, but it said LIFEGUARD.

  • my senior year...saw them many times at a local club....always a good time

  • This song was awesome!

  • not the worst, need to seek more

  • OK, this whole song was a JOKE, they were fucking around

    It is awesome

  • Looks like the guy that bailed ivan vanko outta jail in Iron Man 2 lol

  • Who would actually see these guys live?

  • nice moobs @0:52....

  • Upstate Ny in the 80's rocked! Blotto!!! Brings back memories

  • Yes, it's a dated and amateurish video, but this song is great.

Intelligent lyrics, geek chic attitude ...

What more could you ask for ?

Blotto were the Bare Naked Ladies of the 80s ...

Fine, their time may have passed, but Blotto ruled ! Screw you !

  • im a lifeguard hahahaha

  • what does that have anything to do with anything. I'm sorry you're racist and feel the need to put white people down but I have never seen any black person try to make music that sounds remotly like this. You might want to think before you speak and say something that makes you look like a jacka**.

  • It's official white people suck at music thats why they have to copy off blacks (Example eminem Jon B robin thicke teena marie amy winehouse Elvis presley) the list goes on whites may call blacks niggers but they know we will always be cooler than their lame asses white people are pasty and boring.

  • @keepingitreal15 Eminem is not a nigger so get you're facts right. When most black people rap you can't understand shit their saying and all they talk about is money, cloth, shoes, and girls masturbaiting. Get you're facts right before you open up you're ignorant ass and talk shit.

  • @keepingitreal15 I'm black myself and I'm offended by your post. Please get over yourself and stop making other blacks look bad :/

Besides, this song is awesome :D

  • LOL! Wow, my Princable tald my table to listen to this song and memorize it ;D

  • this song is awesome and I would honestly have this on my mp3 on my awesomeness playlist.

  • worst video of the '80s? Have you heard of Hayzi Fantaysee?

  • @panther0567 LOL yea SHINEY SHINEY!

  • HOLY CRAP! I haven't seen this since it was on MTV back in 81 or 82. I completely forgot this song even existed.

  • Awesome

  • Blotto wishes all of you happy holidays!

  • I rather enjoyed that.

  • To dismiss them as "attempting to strike gold in the 80's punk rock scene is to miss the entire point of punk rock. Malcom, Sid and Johnny didn't make "music" to please the masses or for the art of it. Haven't you ever seen or listened to "The Great Rock and Roll Swindle"? Then entire point of punk rock was to mine gold from the masses or at least the corporations. watch?v=0jWWSVqzLT4

  • Anyone with half a brain can see these guys are a comic troupe, they also did 'Metalhead' the one they're best known for.

  • Looks like the Chatterbox on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights NJ .What a band my gawd so , so ,well its hard to describe a great bunch of guys not really taking seriously the music scene .I love it as a musician myself every time i saw this band was refreshing ....

  • Noobs.

  • what???

  • Why is that video not called: Rick astley - Never gonna give you up? This one here sucks, them both sucks. Mix them, and you'll blow your head.

  • That's a thousand times better than the pile of adulterated shit that is aired on MTV daylong.

  • thi song is my summer sogn and has been since 1979 "be a big man now get a great tan. now..ahhhh brilliant. .

  • The crowd digs it. Don't see why it's the worst. Rick Asstley is worse in my opinion.

  • Ha, at the end he says "White Stuff in my noise" Then snorts!

  • thumbs up if you watched the whole thing....Twice.

  • Haha that was... Entertaining xD

  • Who told you this was Punk?

  • this song is awesome!!!

    whats with u

  • its like the american version of the sex pistols

  • MAN THIS IS EPIC!!!

  • Overly contrived and calculated -- but it looks like they're having fun and dipshit music fans are paying them to do it. (I'll bet every one of them got blown after each gig) If they were making music today they'd have tattoos, one would be bald, they'd lip-synch every live appearance, and they'd use so much synthesizer you couldn't tell if they could actually sing or not. I've seen much worse videos. Check out Jan Terri's stuff -- OMG awful stuff.

  • Triumph's Allied Forces is the worse video of all times...in a good bad way...

  • They needed to refine themselves a little bit more.

  • THey released it themselves and made did well. More power to 'em.

  • These gut=ys were a great live act too. i still remember there version of Cocaine where it changed every verse (Spokane, novocaine. Ptomaine..)

  • Seargent, Broadway, Bow-tie, Cheese & Lee Harvey. These guys were genius,

  • Cheasy, yet kinda funny because of. Some kinda 50's thing going a little bit and an Elvis Costello wanna be, I think I saw. Did like Elvis Costello though, don't get me wrong, to whoever, thank you..

  • I see they decided not to illustrate "white stuff in my nose," though Sergeant does mug a great little white-powder sniff after that line. These aren't their best lyrics - those are probably:

    I'm over here

    You're over here

    She's over there getting dressed

I didn't expect you home so soon,

    As you probably guessed

or all of "(We Are the) Nowtones." Blotto was great.

  • Much better than anything on MTV .

  • @thadiose37 I agree!

  • LOVE IT!! and i was born in 1998! LOLZ

  • Punk? More like Z grade Styx.

  • It's silly and funny... definitely not worst.

  • These guys were GREAT live!

  • Another out-of-it, dull-witted fool who doesn't grok blotto.

  • Love Blotto... "Goodbye Mr. Bond" is a camp classic!

  • I have had this song stuck in my head for 25 years! Thanks YouTube! I couldn't even describe this song to anyone who hadn't heard it. They just looked at me like I had 3 heads. (I only have two, thankyouverymuch!)

  • "I wanna be a Life Guard, I wanna guard your life!" has to be some of the laziest lyrics I've heard in a while

  • elvis costello on crack.

  • Parody or not, this is awful.

  • I think they were college students-it's supposed to be a fun, silly parody!

  • A classic example of "Sarchasm" - the yawning gulf between the author of ironic wit, and the fool that doesn't understand it. The song and the video is a satire of the music and the music videos of the era. It's a joke! Get it?

  • you gotta watch in textp! shit was SO cash

  • i got 20 seconds in and paused it just to regain my composure

  • they summed it up perfectly (right b4 I turned it off) "HELP-HELP-HELP" (LOL)

  • This was classic at the time... I still sing it today! It was SUPPOSED to be kind of cheesy. They couldn't have been ripping off Devo because they were happening at the same time. Get a clue...

  • i did not need to see them shirtless while eating ... :|

  • Anyone who labels this as a "bad 80's video" doesn't get it. That was the point! They were parodying other videos of the days. They knew they were being cheesy. That's why they were so funny. Check out Blotto's other videos "I quit" and "metal head".

  • trying to rip off Devo

  • This is more New Wave than punk.

  • This is a great video! I grew up in Albany and saw these guys live many times. They were always hilarious! Behind the humor was the fact that they were great musicians. Long live Blotto!

  • it doesn`t seem so bad since it`s the 80s. Bad is this song. "Push the little Daisies." Ween

  • this isnt close to worst! its not bad!!!! I Love it! it somehow reminds me of those 4 guys that sing instead of talking.

  • Meat Puppets' Come on Down is funnier

  • Great video remember Video Clips they were pre MTV

  • they look and sound like they had aTubes or Cheatrick sensibility towards their music

  • It's meant to be fun and amusing. Just enjoy.

  • They started out as the Star Spangled Washboard Band and morphed into Blotto. Played the old Cleveland Agora many times and opened for Ginger Baker on night under dubious circumstances.

Baker didn't want another drum kit on stage so Henry LoConti went to the downstairs bar where the SSWB were playing and told them they were playing upstairs.

Baker threw a fit when SSWB went over like gang busters with his crowd.

  • Self produced music video- waht do you want. Long live independent music!

  • Hey there pruel - I was also at Hitsville in Passaic, NJ for this show. I think it was more like 83, but that's trivial. Do you still have your picture ID card? With the yellow background?

  • the eighties was a rough decade.... say no to drugs kids...

  • I think this video is the reason they did drugs.

  • Anthony Cumia stole cocaine from these fine gentlemen

  • Oh dear...

  • I think he's saying he'd like to snort some cocaine.

  • Seen worse...

  • IMHO it's not great, but hardly the worst, The one thing I didn't like is that it almost feels like they can't decide whether they're a rock band or a chorus sometimes.

  • If you grew up in Albany, NY in the 1980s, Blotto was, and remains, the greatest band in history. If you think this was a bad video, then you just don't get it. Sorry losers. And now, Goodbye Mr. Bond.

  • i saw blotto perform at Hitsville in Passaic, NJ in, i think 1980. they were on the Uncle Floyd Show, too, which is all the cred they need :)

  • Iiiiiii waannntt tooo.... shoot myself

  • Best music video ever.

    Yay 80's!!!

  • This is fucking awesome

  • wow i think my iq lowered watching this

  • I love this.

  • S H I T !!!

  • Blotto always put on a great concert! Lots of FUN! You can actually understand the lyrics. No shouting or screaming (except in "Metalhead"!) Remember this was back in early 80's. MTV had been on the air a couple of years, local band doing their best on shoestring budget to get themselves promoted, they did an awesome job! They still play very occasionaly, just never when I'm there!

  • Sand between my toes

    White stuff on my nose

  • @tubjiji

lols, this must have came out before Scarface?

  • Wow....this is pretty bad. I thought the "Story of Bilbo Baggins" by Leonard Nimoy was the worst but I think I am about to change my mind.

  • ok this is kinda the way a lot of music videos and music was like in the 80's, but yeah its pretty corny

  • wonderful song

    LIFEGUARD! hihihi :D

  • This song and video rules! What are you talking about??

  • this song is awesome, what is microview talking about

  • Eye eye eye wanna be talented!

  • I actually miss the 80's

  • There's BowTie and Wild Bill!

  • THIS WASN'T BAD! :D

This was just how the 80's party music sounded. :D

  • Blotto live was a total party band. They're shows had a circus atmosphere. You could compare them to The B52's or mabe DEVO.

  • Are you insane? This was a great video that we all knew the words to. Where you even there?

  • This isn't serious enough to make a whole decade suck. It you want to see something that made the '80s suck, check out the theme from "Beverly Hills Cop", "Jump" by Van Halen or "Shout" by "Tears for Fears".

  • Are you kidding? I would put Jump and Shout in my top 20 from the 80's for sure!

  • i just came

  • thats not gay at all

  • wow... I'm just speechless...

  • ahahaha

  • I love this song! It's AWESOME!!! I don't care what anyone else says!!!!!!!!

  • it is a fun video from the 80's enjoy it

  • I so agree

  • He actually IS saying "IN" my nose, in that last verse. I never caught that. Kind of changes the whole song.

  • Best music best video and best song 10/10

    Todays music 99%=1/10

  • This songs fucking beast.

  • At the end doesn't he say "white stuff IN my nose"?

  • Yup.

  • At the end he doesn't say anything because its the end of the song you dummy

  • It IS a real song! LOL Thought it was a false memory, and I'd quit doing (most) drugs when this came out...

  • Pete Trog's favorite song! LOL! ;-)~

  • Lifergaurd! White stuff on my nose... lol

  • Jerry Seinfeld's first band!

  • my dad likes this song and he thinks that he knows music this song sucks

  • by clicking on me then my newest video watch this lifeguard jump 4 ft out of a pool

  • watch this lifeguard jump 4 ft out of a pool

  • ow!

  • This is hardly the worst. Blotto wasn't trying to be new wave, this is parody, they were a party band.

  • "I'm getting fat, but it DOESN'T matter!

    NOBODY CARES at all!"

One of the BEST lines I ever heard in any 1980s song, lol!

  • Blotto was so much fun to watch in concert in the Albany area in the early 1980s. Total camp, meant to be funny but pretty catchy tunes. Songs like "It's Not You It's your family" (I can't Stand), My Baby's the Star of A drivers ed movie...Classic funny rock & roll. They should make a come back ! What do yous guys do for a living ...

  • They don't write 'em like this anymore.

  • That singer guy has some sweetass tities!

  • i dont really care for this song however this is for not the worst 80s song ever i have heard much worse than this and i mean much worse

  • OMG! I finally found it! I first heard this song years ago on Dr. Demento! Lord you can find anything on YouTube. I've been driving my roommate nuts singing this song. She thinks I am nuts. She can't believe that such a "Stupid" Song exists. I shall crank it up and sing along!!

  • yeah, this takes me back to hearing Doctor Demento with my dad/ :)

  • Two Triple Cheese Side Order Of Fries is far, far worse than this.

  • Yes, this video is fun.

  • Worst?? this is fun, much better than the crap on mtv nowdays

  • Not bad at all, actually.

Smacks heavily of the late 70's LA punk band, "The Eyes".

  • I can't believe this is labeled as the "worst" anything. If you can't see that this is intentionally goofy and humorous, then I pity you. Nor do I see any indication that they were "trying to be punk" anywhere in this video

  • You had to see these guys - what an act. They had a lot of fun and so did the audience. They weren't punk - they had FUN

  • i agree,,,saw them about 5 times on long Island ..back in 82...They put a great show on!!

  • Heh.... I'm confused....I'm just not gonna say anything at all... O_O
