This most extraordinary man was simply the finest parliamentarian of the 20th century. As Michael Foot in a letter to Powell,after one of his speeches in the Commons, wrote 'How Oliver Cromwell himself would have been thrilled to hear the parliamentary cause elevated to its rightful pre-eminence' ; Which Enoch Powell did time and time again. I am so saddened that he is no longer with us. How we need him now. There is no one in Parliament who is within a country mile of his stature.

He was right in everything he said, however one must not forget that Europe exists not for just the benefit of Europeans but for the benefit of the world. Fairness is the word that guides all politicians throughout Europe, not 'gain'. The liberal mandarins in Whitehall have always pulled the strings as far as policy is concerned, and are deaf to the will of the people. The UK's trade deficit exists to share our wealth with developing nations. We shall decline as a deliberate policy of Europe.
