That was amazing! I wish that the wind ensemble I'm in could play this...btw after I watched it my screen seemed to be stretching and moving around..I think that might count as some kind of an illusion or something

If you don't have a clairinet i'd be happy to step in. I hate electronic clarinets. They sound nothing like the real thing. It's 'cause real people pour their heart and soul into it.

Of all five woodwinds I agree that electronic clarinet sounds the least realistic.

In terms of making a recording, I would need a full quintet. I do not have the software capability to mix five parts that have been recorded separately. Thank you for offering, though.

Several groups have indicated that they would make recordings but so far I'm still waiting! I'll be sure to post an actual recording as soon as one is made.

I know some people that would be willing to do a quintet with me. With a little presuasion. Could you send me the notes? I'm sure you'll have better ones, but It'd be a fun thing to do. I bet we could even get extra credit from our band teacher. By the way, do you think Bass Clarinet would do good on the basoon part.

In the original, that is an electric guitar solo! I thought the French horn was more suited for that than, say, the flute ;-)

The visualization had a few steps to it. First I had to make a MIDI sound file (you can do this with any composing program; I used Finale). Then play that through Music Animation Machine (free ware), which has a variety of colors, shapes, etc. to correspond with the notes. Do a screen capture with CAM Studios (also free). Open with Windows Movie Maker, and combine the sound with the visual. :-)
