Sooooo adorable! :) I have also a miniature Schnauzer! :) it's name is Ralpf and it is black/silver, it looks like an old professor :D long time ago, when I was with it outside, for a walk, a small child came to me and asked: 'miss, why this doggy is so small and so old?' :D I couldnt stop laugh :D

I'm aware of that, I know more about dogs then most people. I was asking specifically if they will take off the second they are let free, actually "run" away, not casually wander off if they are left alone. I heard from the rescue group in the twin cities that they bolt if they get the chance, like siberian huskies do. The breeder I got mine from said that is not true. So I am asking for a third opinion to balance out the two I have. And I was asking the poster of the video, anyways.

I have a miniature schnauzer, have had her for 12 years. Heidi has never bolted the minute she's outside, she stays near us and within the territory she knows. My aunt also has a mini schnauzer, the same age as Heidi, who behaves the same way. I'm not sure if it's their nature or due to being well-trained. Not all dogs of the same breed behave the same, and at any rate the only time our dogs are free is when we're going from the car to the house, coming back from a trip.
