  • This seems so much more different than the one taught to me by my sifu. My lineage comes from Wong Fei Hung, Tang Fung, Yuen Ling, Yee Chi Wai, and Kwong Wai Lum. I notice how your 3 tiger claws in horse stance are more passive than ours and I never jumped during my form haha. It's always interesting to see how other schools are taught.

  • Sifu Albright can you enlighten me on some the differences between the hand techniques of hung gar and 7 star mantis. I have always wondered about the differences of how they used hands in the northern and southern styles.

  • @SoundwaveSuperior373 Northern style have better long range tactics. Southern style have better short range tactics. The stratagy of the north and sout style are still similar though. However northern styles tand to be more speedy and southern style tend to use more strength which slows it down a bit. Animals like the Crane, Leopard and Snake are used to speed up Hung Gar tactics.

  • Good Stuff

  • hao chuanfan!

  • Impressive..I'm a freind and onetime student of Sifu Rommie Revel.

  • amazing work times have changed but i agree why keep secrets even though you might be able to buy this on dvd to be able to do this form especially as well as this sifu is doing and also apply it in combat can not be bought. no amount of money can buy that. it must be earned

  • very awesome. music is intense too. what's the song?

  • Awesome!

  • Awesome Sup Ying Kuen.. who taught this form to Sifu Albright?

  • This is from Lay Tsaw Yin lineage .(Gwong Dong Lee) Although not really all that different from others I have seen.

  • I see, it is really rare to see the whole form on Youtube displayed for the world to see. The older generation of Chinese Sifus still very against this type of thing. BTW, I send my greetings from Hung Gar Singapore.

  • I am the older generation 45 years plus in this art. I make my own rules. Too much importance given to the forms secrecy. When in reality it doesn't matter that you learn a form but what you can do with it .

  • what a work out. I used to do this form all the time, when I did hung gar only, you inspired me to get back into doing this form.

  • Thanks. Hung Gar is a great workout art as well as a great fighting art.

  • Yes and the way you do it you express not only the power but the tenacity I strive for when I practice. I hope to emulate your performance (of course different people teach different variations, but it's all essentially the same). Thanks for posting cool stuff. from your web presence it seems you are doing mostly Praying mantis these days?

  • I still practice a few styles (hung gar, mantis, pa kua, lama, choy lee fut) .

  • I like vintage footage like this. It shows how far kung fu has come along.

  • I just Zoned right out watching this, cool music...awesome form, six minutes of cardio :)

  • Always loved this form.

  • Beautiful!
