great! i just love what you are able to do...i am fresh as a DJ...still playing on CDJs...but as a hiphop lover..one day i hope to be able to scratch as you...keep on doing this fantastic job that motived us !!! peace!
tight scratchin best ive heard in a long time keep doin ya thing cause it works well for most of us anyway dont see y people wouldnt like it though also nice timing
wow that is really good...I have the Gemini 3600 which is 2 CD players and a mixer and on it has 2 jog wheels that you cannot scratch on...what do i have to buy to be able to scratch?
Well, to master anything, I would say its a lifelong process of learning and doing, but you can get decent at scratching in a year or two if you put in alot of time and practice. Hope that helps.
iam watching a programme called walk on the wild side on bbc 1 and in between some scenes the cuts from this vid appear..and it sounds exactly the same :)
I know you have been on c4 before thats why i ask..it is definately your cuts from this vid..
even the 2 note drag back + stab combo was on there with crabs..
You still can buy the P&G crossfader, atleast at a German store I buy stuff once in a while.
I hate the proX it only gives me trouble with my pmc07(not cutting the sound and stuff), I swapped it again with a P&G, want to have an innofader those are the shit.
the only thing holding me back is my mixer. As a starter, I thought any mixer would do. I have a Numark DXM01USB but the crossfader cant give me extremely fast cuts.
Makes me wanna get a hell of a lot better too - but i don't think i have the equipment to be honest.
I need help on that. The mixer i have is a Numark DM2002X, and 2 Omnitronic DD turntables (Think Numark tt's -2 steps), they have enough torque - only just :E
Yeh you do need decent equipment. If you can manage at least with your turntables, invest in a decent scratch mixer that has a good crossfader with a sharp cut in. I use the Vestax 06 pro with a pro x fade crossfader inside which works for me. I heard that the innofader crossfader is much better so i'm looking to try that out. Decks wise, I would recommend Technics 1200 / 1210 (the only difference in numbers is the colour) OR Vestax PDX 2000. It really is worth it. Hope that helps.
That's right its chirps! It is a little variation so the chirp pattern is 1234 - I let go of the record on the 3 count so that it sounds a little different that pushing it forwards as you would a normal chirp. I hope that makes sense. I'll cover chips soon. Record control is real important!
