This was at the end of the Jinshanling to Simatai lengths of the wall. It is a moderate hike, but some of the sections are in bad disrepair so watch out to not fall off into Inner Mongolia. Well worth the visit, though.
The Mutianyu section has a toboggan ride down it (also in one of my video clips), but that is not nearly as thrilling as the zip line. The wall at Mutianyu is rebuilt and more "how it was" than "how it really is".
Consider visiting Shanhaiguan as well to get a great variety of wall sections.
I asked the attendant if it was safe. When she glanced at me with the "I don't understand English, stipid" look I figured I had better just go before I realized how unsafe it really was. The attendant's "love tap" on my back helped as well.
It was a blast. There was not much care taken towards safety, though. They just throw this rickety harness around your waist, clip you in, and shove you over the side. It is REALLY high above the ground, so if anything happens there is no hope for you. But all that made it more fun.
This is amazing, i did this back in 2006!

Ye um, thats no zipline, a zipline is where you dangle off, holding the handlebars :P

You're thinking of "flying foxes" which is a small, personal version of ziplines.
According to reference-dot-com's definition of a professional zipline, "The users are physically attached to the cable by wearing a harness..."
This is a zipline. Not that it really matters. It was fun regardless of what you call it.
