i think it could be about death. i always thought it was about heroin. blood on the tracks sounds like blood on track marks. then he says 'will it ache every time i hear the storm?' that sounds like he's talking about injecting himself and then it says 'it's running all over' again the blood. i could be extremely wrong -- i myself have never heard of Thursday doing hard drugs but that doesn't mean they haven't or even if they haven't it doesn't mean that's not what they're talking about.
@tristanrevaur I always thout it was about death. Evil chasing you, as you run into the light to save your soul. But I totally understand your premise its about Heroin. Wow, i never thought of it that was. Cool way to interpret it. Nonetheless, such a fucking great song. Man
@bergcycles1 Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you but thanks for your comment! I appreciate you not shooting my interpretation down. Def. a great song, one of my favorites from Thursday. They're incredible.
@tristanrevaur its about a story the band read while doing a local gig. there was a freshman boy in highschool who had a girlfriend. one day, his girlfriend broke up with him, and it just broke the kids heart. he decided to go for a walk one day along the train tracks and was listening to his music loud because when your hurt like that, music helps. well, the kid never saw a train that was behind him, and it killed him.
Look up Circa Survive. Anthony Green has a higher voice, but their music is so fucking amazing. Some Death Cab For Cutie stuff is more atmospheric as well.
alternative music of the early to mid 2000's was the BEST. I miss my teen years, next month I'll be 24.

@tristanrevaur that sounds plausible. Division St. is about their friends using heroin in New Brunswick, so this could be about the same thing.

Ver los tejados brillan en el sol
Escucha el verano cuenta atrás,
Corriendo lejos, huyendo de la lluvia
Operador, operador, has perdido a tu manera
cuando tienes que llamar a su hermano hizo?
Estás harto de correr y sabes que es verdad
te vas a volver,a partir de la lluvia

When it reaches the end of the line
I see myself reflected in broken glass
As the gates come crashing down
There is blood on the tracks tonight
And rust inside our veins
Will it ache every time I hear the storm
running behind me? esta xhida
creo ke deberia tener mas comentarios
