I love looking through other people's homes [walking home in the evening when lights are on but curtains aren't closed and looking in] and yours is certainly interesting! I am very jealous of the amount of bookcases you own. I really want a nice old typewriter. I didn't realise there were so many role-playing games! I've always thought I'd like them. The only experience I have is the card game Munchkin [which I love]. I particularly enjoy your office. I wish English houses were wooden clad.
@tetsubo57 Congratulations for becoming a home owner - that's a goal I expect a fair few of us will never achieve in this economical climate. You look so settled in already :)
Books are such a pain in the arse when moving. I only had about 80 with me when I was renting a couple of months ago [I only took a few when I originally moved], but because I don't drive I had to mail them all to my parents house 300 miles away. More expensive than petrol would have been!
@OpheliaDagger That is a pain. I can't imagine the shipping cost on my library. Thankfully we only moved about 5 miles. But I think a few of my friends still aren't talking to me. :) So many books...
Thanks for the tour. It's always nice to see a house with loads of books around. The first thing I look for when I visit people's houses is bookshelves and what's on them. Also just wanted to let you know I'm ready for the tour of the gaming book shelves whenever you're ready =)
Nice place! I'm very envious of your book collection! Also, I thought we had a bad cuddly-toy-on-bedside-drawers problem -- you've got twice as many! You've made *very* good use of your space.
Two questions: if you game at home, do you do it in the living room? And is it safe to have a tumble dryer on top of a washing machine? I'd have thought the vibrations might shake it off.
@tetsubo57 Or a flat I lived in where we had a deep fat fryer, and my flatmate would use it to make chips then put it on top of the kitchen cupboard (above head height) while the fat was still hot. I couldn't bear to be in the kitchen while he did it.
@tetsubo57 Heh, we all do silly things without thinking some times. I think it's something to do with university, you get all these really bright people, not long out of school, who haven't really learnt common sense yet (although how much common sense do you need to not carry hot oil above your head?).
That was 11 years ago, and he's managed to survive this long. He's now married to a doctor (which might be handy!)
Awesome! I love the video and tour. Thanks for sharing and wow <3 that long closet in the living room. :) Way cool, I'm happy for you guys. :) And yay at 13:21 the great chair of tetsubo57 (not counting the exercise chair). :D And wow <3 the books. :D
@tetsubo57 No I'm not critiscising you I just thought as liberal you'd prefer to deal with home invaders in a more humane way with a stun gun or a low powered handgun. Aren't Nun chucks and swords overkill or are they just for decorative purposes? :)
@orbitalraindrops The chucks are for show. I would quite readily use the swords however. nThe closest one at hand at the moment is going to be my short sword gladius.
Looks like you settled in well. You have a great place. My favorite is your office/ game room. Nothing worth having ever seems to come easily but hopefully you think this place was worth it in the end.

@OpheliaDagger Thank you Dear.
I've been collecting RPGs for a very long time. :)
So far I am enjoying being a home owner. New experience for me.
My friends weren't so thrilled when they had to move 90 boxes of books though. :)

@spaceLem Gaming has not taken place here. But for a 1-on-1 I would use the living room.
The dryer is bolted onto the washer.

@tetsubo57 Ah, fair enough. I've known people who didn't take such precautions though...

A cool house, awesome RPG collection, weapons all over, crafting equipment a go-go, and cats for wacky antics. Best home ever.
My guess for what's in the oaken chest: The giant eye-ruby from the idol on the cover of the 1st edition D&D.
