hey bro I need your help I jailbreaked my ipod touch 4g (version 5.0.1 with redsnow) and later on I accidently turned off my ipod touch and I got stuck on the apple logo I also tried boot tethered everything went well but at the end it shows a pinapple sign then goes back to recovery mode how can I make my ipod turn back on or something? I really need your help :(
@SuperAkbar1 Check my video "how to get out of recovery mode" Search for it on my channel. Try again the tethered boot. After you're done, check my untethered jailbreak video tutorial. You won't have to tethered boot everytime. Cheers!
@annyeongdreamz Maybe you're in restore mode. You need to press and hold power+home button for 10 seconds. The iDevice will turn off for 2-3 seconds. It's DURING that 2-3 seconds you need to start the DFU process (hold power button 3 seconds, hold both buttons for 10 seconds, release power button, continue holding home button for 15 seconds.)
@bumbokill Ouch, I never tried to preserve baseband for an update. I don't have any device with the older baseband neither. Send me a PM and I will try to find some info for you.
@bumbokill You can download this version of redsn0w to tethered boot! Sorry for the late reply! Any version of redsn0w will help you tethered boot, there is not much difference. Download the one from the link description, or if you download a newer version, you don't always need the IPSW file. Cheers!

@xxhadudexx You need to continue holding the home button for as long as possible. Try it again, maybe your computer installed the DFU drivers. Press and hold the power and home button to restart your device. Then try again. Cheers!
I have a 3gs using 4.0 firmware on a MacBook Pro. Which version of redsn0w should I use in order to do a tethered reboot?
My issues are: The boot logo comes on for about 5 minutes then shuts off. Then the black screen comes on for the same amount of time then shuts off, followed by the low battery screen.
@one4theroad I would guess that the problem would be that you don't have enough battery. Plug it and let it sit there for a while (even if it's in the loop thingy). After 20-30 mins. Try again the tethered boot. You can use any Redsn0w for a tethere boot, but if you check my most recent video, I have the latest Redsn0w link for iOS 5 which doesn't require the IPSW file after you did it once. Give it a shot and get back to me. Cheers!

@benfaysal23 Yes it will turn it back on! If it doesn't work the first time, press and hold home/power button for 10 seconds: it will restart. Then try again.

@StrikeFighter67 Try to download this version of redsnow (redsn0w_win_0.9.9b4) and then set the compatibility to windows xp service pack 2 (if you're using vista or seven) then run redsn0w as administrator and choose "Extras", then "Just boot" and from that point you'll figure it all out, you'll enter dfu mode and the rest will download itself, afterwards the whole operation will take place on your device, just be patient and observe, this last version of redsnow kicks ass. ;)

@XxachllesxX I would completely turning it off when you sleep and then turning it on during the day. That's not normal though. I would consider bringing it back to the Apple store for a replacement if it's still under your 1 year original warranty. They will replace it I'm sure. Make sure you restore it so it's not jailbroken when you bring it back! Cheers

Mine just sits at the fucking redsnow bootlogo for hours. any ideas? But what's even more weird is when I plug it into iTunes it still says Matt's iPhone and shows all my music and shit under my device but I can't get passed the boot logo.. :c
@xUCxGaming You have to turn the iDevice off (press and hold home button for 10 seconds). It will turn off for 3-4 seconds and that's EXACTLY when you need to start the DFU process and have redsn0w running.

@lavadr yeah, nothings working/: It's still just sitting at the pineapple bootlogo.. but it's still showing on iTunes as my iphone and says it has all the music on it but it just won't load passed the bootlogo..
@xUCxGaming You tried with both versions? 4.2.9 and 4.2.10? You really have to do it quickly when it's turned off and Redsn0w is running. Keep trying!
Thanks dude, i did it two times because the first idk what the fuck happened and the secund i did it normally, i have something to add, if redsnow closes when you are rebooting its everything ok you just have to press home and sleep botton for a few secunds and the apple simbol will appear aggain
@hurricane315 You need to press both home and power button at the same time. (it will turn off 2-3 seconds). During that 2-3 seconds, you need to do the DFU mode thing (hold power button for 3 seconds, then hold both buttons for 10 seconds, etc.). You need to do it DIRECTLY during the 2-3 seconds when it's turned off.
@king20abbey Yes, restore and check my "Jailbreakme Jailbreak Tutorial for 4.3.3" It also works for 4.2 and 4.3.2. Search for it in my channel! It's very simple and is untethered. Cheers

@esah171 It must be a .IPSW file - If you see a zip file, go into any folder on your computer (press ALT if you are on windows vista/windows 7) and select "Tools" > "Folder Option..." > View Tab > Advanced Settings > UNCHECK "Hide Extention For Known Type Files". After, rename "XXXXX.ipsw.zip" to "XXXXX.ipsw" and it will work! You can also check my profile for the latest update on jailbreak (4.3.2) untethered. Cheers!

@xReaCtiiOnzAU Did you try with greenpois0n RC6? Check my channel for the video tutorial. It should solve your problem. Try to run the jailbreak programe in compatibility mode with Windows XP (right click, compatibility mode)
i downloaded the firmware but when i go browse it on redsn0w it says unable to recognize unspecified IPSW, but the firmware is in ipsw format =x i dont know what to do

@xEpiicFuze Follow the steps in the video. It should help you. You need to do the EXACT same thing as I do and it will work. You need to do the DFU process at the exact moment when it's turned off. Otherwise it will not work.

@DarkJavier8 You can sync your iPhone like normal, but when it's not going to be jailbroken, you won't be able to use them. They won't appear on your iPhone. You will have to install Installous again (it also installs this little patch called "app sync for 4.2.1" OR "app sync for 4.0" OR whatever version you are running on.). This little patch lets you have the cracked apps. So - No jailbreak = no cracked apps.

@DarkJavier8 Hehe, it's fine. The thing you are talking about is SBsettings. It's very usefull, you can use it to turn wifi on/off, 3G on/off, Airplane Mode on/off, etc. The skull is your running applications. You can kill any running application to free up some memory (ram)

@lavadr yeah, nothings working/: It's still just sitting at the pineapple bootlogo.. but it's still showing on iTunes as my iphone and says it has all the music on it but it just won't load passed the bootlogo..

@xUCxGaming You tried with both versions? 4.2.9 and 4.2.10? You really have to do it quickly when it's turned off and Redsn0w is running. Keep trying!

Thanks dude, i did it two times because the first idk what the fuck happened and the secund i did it normally, i have something to add, if redsnow closes when you are rebooting its everything ok you just have to press home and sleep botton for a few secunds and the apple simbol will appear aggain

@hurricane315 You need to press both home and power button at the same time. (it will turn off 2-3 seconds). During that 2-3 seconds, you need to do the DFU mode thing (hold power button for 3 seconds, then hold both buttons for 10 seconds, etc.). You need to do it DIRECTLY during the 2-3 seconds when it's turned off.

@esah171 It must be a .IPSW file - If you see a zip file, go into any folder on your computer (press ALT if you are on windows vista/windows 7) and select "Tools" > "Folder Option..." > View Tab > Advanced Settings > UNCHECK "Hide Extention For Known Type Files". After, rename "XXXXX.ipsw.zip" to "XXXXX.ipsw" and it will work! You can also check my profile for the latest update on jailbreak (4.3.2) untethered. Cheers!

@xReaCtiiOnzAU Did you try with greenpois0n RC6? Check my channel for the video tutorial. It should solve your problem. Try to run the jailbreak programe in compatibility mode with Windows XP (right click, compatibility mode)

@xEpiicFuze Follow the steps in the video. It should help you. You need to do the EXACT same thing as I do and it will work. You need to do the DFU process at the exact moment when it's turned off. Otherwise it will not work.

you know on the installous, on the setting, theres one of them that say itune sync...
If I put that on, that mean that I sync all the free app I got and even if my phone is not jailbreake I can still have it on the iphone?

@DarkJavier8 You can sync your iPhone like normal, but when it's not going to be jailbroken, you won't be able to use them. They won't appear on your iPhone. You will have to install Installous again (it also installs this little patch called "app sync for 4.2.1" OR "app sync for 4.0" OR whatever version you are running on.). This little patch lets you have the cracked apps. So - No jailbreak = no cracked apps.

@DarkJavier8 Hehe, it's fine. The thing you are talking about is SBsettings. It's very usefull, you can use it to turn wifi on/off, 3G on/off, Airplane Mode on/off, etc. The skull is your running applications. You can kill any running application to free up some memory (ram)
