I've been a Bonnie fan since I was in high school many years ago, but this is the first time I listened to this song and it actually made me cry !! She so RAWKS !!
I looked to my right and it suggested adam lambert's reindition among various others and I thought to myself no thank you bonnie is the best no one can even light a candle to her.
This is a fabulous song but the very best version is by Nancy WIlson, who manages to capture the tragic emotion and discordant depth of the lyric. Her voice is almost crippled by the pain of it all. A stunning rendition. Particularly her pause at the "if you don't' part. So much more emotional than this. Go on, have a good cry. We have all been there.

@mwasser11 --This song was written by a great football player, his name is Mike Reid and he played for Penn State in Joe Paterno's early years, he once recorded 3 safeties in one game against Maryland, went on to play pro for the Cinci Bengals. Bonnie just pours her heart into this wonderful song.

Bonnie's still the original and best IMO, but Tank's version is right up there with hers! No one else has ever come close. I can listen to hers without crying, but I can't hear him sing it without crying all the way through. Would love to hear these to do a duet of this song! Can even imagine how awesome that would be...

This is a fabulous song but the very best version is by Nancy WIlson, who manages to capture the tragic emotion and discordant depth of the lyric. Her voice is almost crippled by the pain of it all. A stunning rendition. Particularly her pause at the "if you don't' part. So much more emotional than this. Go on, have a good cry. We have all been there.

I like the George Michael version the best...seems like this is a popular song for people to cover. George Michael has the right amount of silk in his voice to really reach for the soul in this song, in my opinion.

@jonadoug First what does Sexual Orientation have to do with anything? Second, why does one version have to be "better" then the other? I just listed to George Michael's version, and it was good. I know people always want to compare remakes to the original, but why can't there just be two different artists who sing two good versions of a song?
