@Goodie8486 - It's because they're not making a circuit with the ground. Electricity always looks for a path to ground all the time. The insulators on powerlines stop it from going down the poles
If a human was to hang from one powerline he would be fine, but if he touched the pole with his leg then he would be shocked. Some powerlines are insulated to avoid a huge shock if that were to happen

@Goodie8486 No problem, in that case if the parachuters parachute is touching another line then it will make a circuit with that line too, that's why they get a shock as well!
I do have a video on my list of that happening too, he was very unlucky lol

@lakelandchief I think they did turn the lines off but they were still hot, and filled with electricity, not as high as it was, but even turned off the lines wered still hot and dangerous.

@lakelandchief I think they did turn the lines off but they were still hot, and filled with electricity, not as high as it was, but even turned off the lines wered still hot and dangerous.
