  • shame we never got a front bum shot he was kinda buff there

  • the most ridiculous story line in telivision history, why kill him off in the first place, let him fall of a mountain or go missing in a jungle, leave it open just in case

  • @boomdocker100 - I think that very thing set the standard for every soap opera that ever came afterwards. Don't kill off any stars just in case they or the producers want them to return in the future. If there's any doubt, leave an angle open. The general public were so distraught at losing "Bobby", so the show's producers HAD TO bring him back, at any cost. Thank goodness!

  • Oh, I'd wish she'll bring her British passport with her in the morning when I was asleep, I over hear the showers,, I open the door, she's beautiful, 50 years young, anti aging, revived from the dead that is blast from the past, it's Princess Diana, Princess of Wales, ex wife of Prince Charles of Wales, mother of her two sons Prince William and Prince Harry, and mother-in-law of her daughter married to Prince William, Princess Kate of Wales, and Duchess of Cambridge.

  • Good Morning!

  • What I always wondered was---what happened to the missing year??? Was the rest of the series a year behind? And how can Pam have dreamed all that in one night? The writers must have been at a loss to explain Bobby's ressurection.

  • thumbs up if you have done this to your spouse, fiancee, girlfriend or hook-up.

  • Ruined the show.

  • I think that Bobby's return in the soap was the biggest stroke of theater in TV history. But i'm one of the biggest fans of Dallas! And i love Patrick Duffy!!! Thanks for sharing this great video with us, i really love it! :) Dallas 4Ever and Ever and Beyond!!!

  • This turn was considered over the top for even daytime soaps. Someone needs to post the original clips. Pam saw her new husband Mark in the shower. Patrick Duffy and producer Leonard Katzman shot a phony Irish Spring commercial. TV Guide had some famous authors such as Stephen King explain what happened. Did anyone explain whether Bobby was still dead in Knots Landing?

  • This is the ONLY way to get Two and a Half Men back on track

  • HAHAHA

  • heavy flashbacks

  • BOBBY hi Pamaler honey I've regenareted and still kept this body

  • This is the moment, according to Jon Hein, when the show "jumped the shark", which is showbiz lingo for "It's all downhill from there".

  • @dustbunee2007 If Jon Hein says the show went downhill from there, he is an idiot.

I just watched the last 4 or 5 seasons and they were fucking amazing!!

  • I wouldn't mind waking up to that xD

  • Im still mad that Patrick's other show Step by Step didnt end with Victoria Principal seeing him in the shower and saying "fuck no, not again!"

  • @DominoRyder What would have been funnier would to see Patrick in Step By Step wake up and find Victoria Principal in the shower and realized he dreamed an entire dif series sort of like they did on Bob Newhart when he woke up and found Suzanne Pleshette in bed.

  • its makes you shiver when you watch this scence

  • Whoever thought up of having Bobby Ewing come back and pretend that the previous season was a dream is a genius.

  • yep they screwed up then guess its always bout the dollar

  • Kult! :)

  • @icnh35 She slepped a whole season. No wonder she hit that mac truck.

  • She dreamed the entire season! Dallas in "How to make fun of our fans!"

  • Patrick Duffy was so hot!

  • Sadly the beginning of the end of a great show.

  • Almost 30 years later and this still gives me chills :)

  • What's Family Guy???

  • @Andypandy2010 someone needs to put that clip up on youtube.

  • Life is but a dream....

  • People would go Ape-shit if some series today would have such a plot-twist.

  • @videofieldsoldier Dude, people went ape shit in 1986 over this. The following year audiences fell away in droves.

  • from season 9 ending. on the opening of season 10, the tiles in the shower changed, bobby was tanned and pams hair was longer!!! LOL

  • Jumping the shark.

  • BOBBY LIVES!!!!!!!!!!! So the entire season was a dream sequence. LOL Only in the 80's.

  • @Sapexec --Yeah, television is so much more sophisticated today with: "Jersey Shore", "The Real Housewives of Atlanta", "Celebrity Apprentice", and "Survivor"-- high-brow entertainment at its best.

  • I don't care if you are married to someone, its simply rude to just open up someone's shower door when they are are showering! Dead OR alive! LOL

  • @pathologydoctor

she thought it was an intruder... but then, it's pretty stupid to open the shower door when you think it's an intruder! LOL...

  • this is why you can't kill off a main character. If he retruns and it was just a dream then the past season was all a dream too. Theat whole season didn't happen so it's worthless.

  • @HellFireKane This is where I think Dallas went wrong considering the great performances that happened that season especially Linda Gray's character.

  • don't know if anybody posted this yet but this end to the story line came about due to a writers strike.-lil bit-o-trivia

  • Ain't this exactly the 200th episode?

Anyway, the fans wanted Bobby back, the producer, the staff, the cast wanted him back. Patrick Duffy wanted to return as well.

So the question was, how to ressurect him? He had quite a death scene in the previous season finale. I think "the whole season was just a dream" was the best choise, or at least the most acceptable.

  • @bbenjoe, anytime a movie or tv show has "X was just a dream" it is almost NEVER acceptable, and this was most certainly not an exception. It was lame. Fans and producers wanted him back? Tough, they decided to kill the character they should deal with it. This made the show worse than killing Bobby to begin with.

Granted it's not as bad as the ending to St. Elsewhere but that was an abomination.

  • @jdlund I see your point, yet I don't agree with you. I kinda love retcons. I was delighted when I saw this episode. Note: I can't really judge it on the level you do, because Dallas is the only soap-opera series I ever watched... and it was enough for me for a few decades.

  • @jdlund The only really acceptable "it was all a dream" senario that I remember working well was the finale of "Newhart", and that was because it was a comedy.

  • This scene is unforgettable...

  • patrick duffy's film career didn't work out so they had to rewrite him into the show

  • The alternate ending to Inception.

  • I think he was taken by Alien Earth encounters and they turned back, time and returned Bobby while taking a shower.

  • This is when Dallas jumped the shark

  • The day the world stopped. I'll remember this forever.

  • The day the world stopped. Ill remember this 4ever.

  • Love this scene , thanks for sharing.

    Bobby is so adorable.

    Jessie

  • @dallasewings, Jessie, I agree that Bobby is soo adorable in this clip.

  • that was one of the greatest Dallas moments!!!!

  • @MIRECEKV No. It was the moment the whole worl realised Dallas was CRAP!

[I like the Family Guy version better.]
