  • JoRu would you be interested in helping me with something? You have MSN messenger?

  • What do you use to record with?

  • @wortana I use Fraps. Great program. It does cost to use the full version I'm using, but great program nonetheless.

  • Hey Joru, jw where you got the map title script from?

  • @wortana It's a script called "Map Story Title" by a scripter called Vixotic. Search for it on Google and you'll probably find it. :)

  • i give up lol btw i played ur game its awesome i just wish i could map as gd as u ill send u a demo of mine as soon as i can im gna add u frnd and sub

  • hey bro this is wat i do:

    Show picture center (0,0), (100%,100%}, 0, normal

    move picture center (0,0), (100%,100%}, 255, normal, @60, wait

    move picture center (0,0), (100%,100%}, 0, normal, @60, wait

  • @opoloson Try making the time for it to fade in a little bit longer. One second is pretty short (I used like 2,5 seconds in this video), so the picture may come too quickly. If that doesn't do any difference I don't know really. Sorry. :(

  • If you don't mind me asking iv used RPG Maker for quite awhile now and i still don't et how pics work, i would rly like a credits scene like this 1 if u dnt mind making me a short tutorial or explination about how u did it?

  • @opoloson This shouldn't be so hard if you know how to work with pictures. After you've made the pictures you use the standard "Show Picture"-feature, but change the opacity to 0 to make it invisible for now. To make it fade in/out you can do that by using the "Move Picture"-feature. You can use this to fade in/out. Set opacity to 255, and then the amount of time to make it fade in (60 frames = 1 second). When you want to fade it out you do the same thing, but set opacity back to 0 again.

  • @JoRu94 thanks bro but what size is your pic files and what size of font is best?

thats the only otyher thing im asking

  • @opoloson I use the same size as the entire VX-screen fills (544x416 is default for VX) and then place the pictures in the middle. This is the best way to see how much of the screen the text will cover. Experiment with the font size and you'll see what looks best.

  • @JoRu94 hmm for me the pic fades out but doesnt fade in it just appears instantly

  • @opoloson When choosing the "Show Picture"-command, make sure the opacity is set to 0. Otherwise it'll show up instantly.

  • hey im also an idependent 15 yr old game designer. how did you make the scean look like it was at night? im working on opening credits. i have the moven=ment but i want to make it ook like its going from morning to afternoon. can you please hep?

on behafe of the single staffmember of ONI Gameing. i thank you

  • Use the tint-feature inside an event on the map to change the color tone. The lower the value of the colors are, the darker it will become.

  • You should make a tutorial of this.

did this took long for you?

did you had to use a lot of event for this like

    Show picture

    wait:10

    show picture

    Wait:10

    'Ect'

  • It didn't take long, like 25 minutes to event the scene out and insert all the different pictures and make the right transitions. It took a little longer making the maps for it, though.

There was not much eventing done to make the pictures work and such. I did some additional eventing to improve the scene visually (like the squirrels running along the road from 0:03-0:09), but that was not necessary.

  • how do you make the opening credits with vx?

    help please!

  • I did the intro with pictures, a bit of mapping, imagination and loads of effort. Making good stuff with VX is much easier than with most other programs but it still requires a lot of training. Training, dedication and imagination. Those three words, that's the only advice I can give you unfortunalety.

  • @JoRu94 thanks. So you created the text with pictures right?

  • Yup, that is correct. :)

  • This piece is by Kevin McLeod, right? I think I heard it on his site...Maybe it was a different one...

    Anyways, VERY beautiful.

  • Yup, it's by Kevin MacLeod. His style fits the game perfectly, and the music itself is absolutely stunning. He deserves the biggest credit of all for my game thus far. :)

  • how cqn i mqcke games that look like that my games suck. :(

  • How do you fade in text like that in the beginning?

  • I made a picture of the text I wanted to use, and then used the picture-feature in VX to make it fade in.

  • Very nice mapping! Good intro, too. You are a god at VX, JoRu. I hope to be as good as you one day soon.

  • This is amazing Joru, every time I see your videos, they inspire me in mine.

Your actually one of the first people who pushed to make mine, and now, I'm starting to be very good at it,

but this just...It has a lot of emotion dude, it will be an amazing game :)

This makes me want to finish my own game so much faster! XD

Good luck on your project, if you ever need help, I'm your number one person there dude :P

  • This looks really good. It catches my interest. Makes me wonder what will happen next, and why the video ended so early on...

Good luck with this. I think I can support you with this too. Let me know if you need any assistance.

  • Thanks! It works out great alone as for now, but we'll see whether I decide to gather more people to this later on.

  • Anytime you need the help, send me a line. You can check out some of my works too if you aren't too sure.

  • What an epic introduction. :P
