  • I been putting this off for too long. Time to get with the times, no matter what I think about them... Again, thanks.

  • Thanks so much! I relied on this video heavily for a report I did. Proper credit was given! You definitely deserve it.

  • Ack, what about the anycast using IGP protocol? It's cut off.

  • I am sorry the full version of the video is available at the exiletv website.

Anycast works the same way for ipv6 as it does for ipv4. i will try to do a video on anycast. say you have a dns server in 2 data centers , one in london and one in the us. You would advertise the same prefix out of both data centers. The internet hosts will automatically take the best path. US customers would always get the american server, and european customers would get the european one.

  • @bufo333 I was also disappointed that some anycast details got cut off, since the brief explanation was very helpful. :-(

I don't get how multicast can reference a bunch of different nodes with one address; I can understand if they all somehow add a certain multicast destination address, but how does a sender/router know that the new multicast destination node wants in? If the new node has to find the sender first and let him know the sender would still need a unique return address.Nomorechars:(
