  • How many millions (billions) of dollars have already be spend on aerodynamic research? Do the cars we drive today reflect this?

  • GM and Chrysler had a good run. Congratulations. NO MORE BAILOUT MONEY! Bailout money never should have been offered. Lets get some new blood into the system. Fresh ideas at affordable prices.

Hats off to Toyota and the Prius. You offered a car that the masses wanted before you were required to.

I have never owned any foreign car. I have owned 1 Dodge, 2 Fords & 4 GMs and I am frustrated.

  • don't count on that as the Volt is a mere publicity stunt to ask for more money

then they will seel the technology to the oil company

    ha ha haha

  • GM hated the EV1 from the get go, ten years ago. Now they say its the granddaddy of the volt. Electric cars have been around since the begining of the automobile. I think that volt will be a decent car but i really hate GM so i wont buy one. I'll wait untill either Toyota, Honda or maybe Ford (if they live, and my dad used to work for them so i get a deal!) starts making these types of cars.

p.s i wich hybrids or cars like the volt had a diesel engine option grrrrrr!

  • GM discontinued the EV-1 program because it was viewed to be less profitable and because legislature was changed eliminated the need for this product by GM and all car manufactures.

The Volt concept car is, in my eyes, a beautiful and stylish car. Good job designers. I would prefer it as a less than 20K 4-cyl version than a more than 30K electric but the design of the Volt production car does little to stir up any excitement.

  • We need these cars!

  • he said GM in a huge transformation today ! electrification of GM ? then why does the Volt has a 1.4 Chevy Aveo engine onboard using gasoline using spark plugs coolant oil change oil filters and needs a tuneup

because the VOLT just a hybrid a $40K HYBRID !

  • its not a hybrid. the motor is used to recharge the main battery when there is no other power source readily available.

  • wow 666 views

  • Why the EV1 in 1995 had 120 miles range but now Volt has only 40 miles in 2010 ???

Why GM is ling again,STOP THE LOBBY FOR THE PETROL !!!

GM had crushed the EV1 because their baterys wore two good!

  • You keep spamming the same comment on all Volt-related videos, and people keep giving you the same answer. The 1996 EV1 (there was no 1995 model year available to the public) had a maximum of 75 miles range. Apply the same state of charge constraints to the 1996 EV1 that the Volt has, and you have 38 miles maximum.

The reason we are choosing small packs + genset is simple. Batteries are expensive, and running out of juice and having a dead car sucks. Face it, EREV is what more people want.

  • EV IS THE FUTURE ! BUT WHO KILLED THE EV1??? Well GM did!

SO NOW WHAT if the Prius did not exist so the Volt would not exists.

SO GM WAKE UP AND MAKE PURE ELECTRIC CARS !!!

  • why are you so negative, gm doing a great job in making all electric cars, all electric is the way to go and their system is the best , because a pruis is a waiting deaster, you will be paying with your soul to fix the potential problems there going to have , and then the puris is a joke with its gas millage the toyota corolla is a way better value with a all gas engine at half the price , the gas milage is withend 80 percent of a pruis ,

  • are you just as dumb as a ROCK OR WHAT!

  • best chevy volt interview on youtube, thanks for doing this !
