The whistle sounds different at 1:40 because the 4449 has a traditional steam whistle and also an air horn. The air horn was added during the years when the 4449 pulled passenger cars around the San Francisco area due to the heavy fog the area receives throughout the year.
I miss those Montana Daylight cars, its a shame they had to get rid of all of them.
