Just because someone can't grasp the idea of finding a certain type of music enjoyable, doesn't mean they're narrow-minded. Rap music just doesn't appeal to me. I hate it. However I love rock, classical, country, r&b/soul/funk, jazz, blues, and folk. So people can be very open to all different genres of music, and still hate rap. It's just not pleasurable for some people to listen to, even if they tried to like it (which I have).

Rap/hiphop used to be really good back in the early 80's all the way thru the mid 90's......Now it's just commercialized trash! Go do some research an youtube some old hiphop songs. You may or may not like it? But it's a big difference from the music of today!

I listen to and sing country music but I grew up listening to everything from 70's 80's 90's rock, country, southern rock, real rap/hip hop. you can't really appreciate one genre of music if you dont respect them all. look at all those groups that are blending their music with other genres. they attract other listeners to their music because the respect other genre's.
