I think the first four samples should a 1 or 2 sixteenths longer. And this is not a remake you just took the sample and sliced it like them, and added some bitcrusher. Even I could do that.
Could you please give some advice to a noob as to how I could go about getting a basic understanding. Some sites out there, any videos, books even. I would love to be able to flow through the program as well as you do. I try to fiddle in it and it's just not working out.
@Alive0192 Youtube is good I taught myself how to use Ableton from Youtube and just messing around with the software.. what is not working out for you?
really nice tutorial! Explains exactly what I was looking for.
But I'm not good in French and I'm still learning how to use ableton so certain things arent familiar to me.. so:
What is he doing at 2:38 to get this new arrangemend of his loops and this new window with alle the attack, decay, release etc controlls which he uses later at 4:20 to remove the drums from the sample clips?
@HakuGotStoned @ 2:38 He is slicing the loop sample by Warp marker and putting the individual slices into Impulse.. doing this by Warp marker means you insert the warp markers on the loop or sample clip to where you want each slice to start and end. Impulse is like a drum machine hope this helps
Your workflow is pretty similar to mine. But while wathing I was thinking about how cool it would be to sit down and make a Beat Repeat Chain that recreates the chopped loop from the initial 2-bar loop. Maybe feed it some other disco loops and see what happens. In other words; your video inspired me to go and be creative now. Thanks for sharing.
It was crazy enough to see the process of how The Prodigy made Smack my Bitch Up on Ableton on another video. Now each time I see one of these remake processes it kills me to know that all I have is the demo for version six from NIN's Y34RZ3ROR3M1X3D.
every single beatmaker learns by messin around. electro, house and hip hop producers are DIY artists most of the time.. hence all the different and incredible styles this music has blessed us with... pm me (or ibonnaz i guess) if u wish to do so ahah

This guy is so cool that he never cares about clipping.
