Swift fantasy lady is her name, she was banned from racing in aussie basically cause they thought she wasnt chasing, what a joke ! now she has graced NZ tracks WOW one of the best stayers in the world
I know nothing about greyhound races. Somebody tell me, each of these dogs has a style in running? This one (swift fantasy) always starts as last and then wins. Is she trained this way of she knows how to save energy for the last round ?!
@keyvet I don't think anyone knows keyvet. It's impossible to train a greyhound to do that. Impossible! She just seems to "know" where the line is, which is inexplicable as they are supposed to chase the hare and not win the race. She is a freak. I would say a "one off" but I'm from England and in 1985-1987 there was a dog called Scurlogue Champ who did exactly the same thing. They said he was a freak, that we would never see his like again. I can't believe this is happening again! I'm so happy
Its like athletes in that some excel in sprinting and all the way thru' to excelling in a Marathon. Her strength is her incredible stamina and she keeps going when any normal greyhound starts to have their stamina tested.
Not only does she have astonishing stamina but she has no "early pace" but she also has a fantastic brain as she has amazing "trackcraft" to weave in and out thru' the whole field where many dogs run into other dogs ! :)
Awesome greyhound she is just amazing, love watching her races gives me a chill down my spine....I use to have a dog Fantasy's Halo we breed her with Kareem and they had Wylie's Boy. Have been out of Greyhounds for 10 years now but watching her race makes me want to get back into dogs.
@kameseiko I saw that race on Close up last night. She's amazing! Can't find the clip here but I'm sure someone will post it up, but at the moment it's on the close up website.
I was privileged to witness this amazing run by a low flying machine, you had to be there at the stadium to see the crowd lift the roof off ..... she has taken New Zealand by storm .... Hats Off "Lady" you are a star ....
iv watched all her races and i think she is unsighted on the hare but when she sees it ye ha what a dog

Glad you liked it - has to be one of the most amazing sights I've seen on any racetrack (equine or canine).
