My name is Craig Sears; I was in a motor vehicle accident in 1987, leaving me with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) Silent Epidemic. After suffering a brain injury, as most survivors do, I have been faced with many new and overwhelming challenges in everyday living. As a survivor of a brain injury, my journey made me all-too familiar with the difficulties of individuals and families working through the arbitrary system of care.
Hi Craig. I had a vehicular TBI in 1986 (100+ stitches). My TBI was unrecognized until this year. My family physician has been mostly useless, even though I have long complained of having severe depression, severe confusion, severe anger management issues, and have not worked steadily for more than a decade. Apparently my frontal lobes were damaged severely enough that I could have had a disability status this entire time. TBIs can be VERY deleterious to one's life. All the best to you.
I really liked your video and thanks for sharing. It will help many people. I recently posted a video about brain injury and the law that I hope may help people deal with the struggle.
