Hello,when release make sure before each toom type you choose has to complete home game for that toon they want to bring on line . So we dont have lvl 1 type toons on line asking every thing they can or do with that type of toon completeing each class type before they are allowed to bring each one on line would be sooo nice.. Dude get real, the astronomical amounts "invested" are those put into advertising. Even some developers said that paying 60 bucks for a game is a rip off. Online single player is just about control. If I want to have a single player experience in the mountains for example, for a game I bought, I can't, because I have to be online. Single player characters could have been separated from online characters, that way no problems would occur with item duplication or what not.

i used to really wanna be the monk with witch doctor as second choice, but now the wizard seems really awesome too. custom hydra and runes in the meteor would be pretty crazy, and you could rune the skills to be close range like they did with lightning here and be a close range wiz
after i got passed my initial anger of no skills it's starting to sound more like a good idea. And sounds like it will make the campaign alot of fun. And one of you said in this cast that the auction house is how diablo will make money so this is how they will not charge a monthly fee which is a great idea. Now i fully support the real money auction house. The hole monthly fee is the biggest deal breaker to me. So i hope that is all true and no monthly fees on diablo 3.
I think the gold auction house will still be viable because people will be able to buy gold in the cash auction house for a very low price if everyone is selling their gold. The ability to buy/sell gold in the cash AH should keep the two in balance.
You know, all they're doing is implementing a service that was done by a third party, in a means of protecting the consumer while allowing less of a window for scam sites and farmers to prosper. People sold things for in-game currency on D2 even though they could go to other sites and sell them for real money so stop bitching that it's gonna ruin the gold auction.

I had been playing 'F2P' MMOs for over 3 years, then switched to P2P ones because of two things: theoretically you can't buy 'power' and the overall quality of the community (not perfect, mind you, but more 'mature' on average). Buying items for real money in D3 is at least controversial for me and I think I will probably end up playing solo because of that. The thing is I don't know yet if it's going to turn out to be something good or not for certain.
Possibility to have a hardcore mode type of thing, but instead of making your character not playable After dieing, have it like diablo 2 when you get 1 Reset Per difficulty play through (If they have it) and the ability to craft a way to reset it. like, in d2. the Token of absolution. and make them unable to freely change skills anytime they want. when there's a Regular mode that makes it all easy peasy for all of those casual players and hardcore for those strategic players who think through.
People have been buying elite items on ebay since before the D2 expansion even came out. The store might make it a littler easier and safer but if you really wanted a WindForce, Sojs, Skill Charm, etc all you had to do was go on ebay. Does the new store ruin the game, cmon, nooo, people are going to buy items no matter what. Theres not really a way to control that.

If Blizzard wants to make money, they should do so the right way: releasing expansion packs and DLC that includes new classes and Acts, not by accommodating the people who violated the EULA of Diablo 2.
There will certainly be an exchange rate between gold and real money, gold farmers will eventually farm enough gold so that the exchange rate becomes ridiculous. This was something blizzard fought tooth and nail to stop in WOW to prevent the death of their economy. It will be even worse in Diablo 3 b/c the best weapons in WOW are BoP, but there's no such restriction for Diablo 3. The game will eventually degenerate into a microtransaction based economy.
What you're not mentioning is the top of the line items will be exclusively be sold for cash, because they're the best without question, people who find these items will be tempted to (always) sell them for real cash, whereas gold will be more of a crafting/low tier upgrade tool in terms of an auction house.
And give me one good reason why the anti cheater community can't have an economy separate from the cheaters? If blizzard truly thought that the RMAH would have no effect on this who didn't use it, they wouldn't have separated the Hardcore GAH from the normal GAH. That's because the Hardcore players would never be able to afford anything because the currency would be debased. We want the option of a legitimate economy without the risk of permanent death. Is that too much to ask?
So it's not balanced to the level of an e-sport therefore cheating is okay? After all, the game isn't legitimate anyway, so who cares if we rape the economy let people buy their way to victory? That is a bullshit justification; we all want as fair a fight as possible, so some entitled asshole doesn't win a pvp match because he spends the most.

Each class has about 20 skills and 5 runes making for 100 effective skill choices. Selecting a subset of 6 skills yields 858 billion skill combinations for one class. Also, the runes are going to be rolling random item mods, making for even more possible combinations. There's also passive skills that I haven't figured into this calculation. Oh, and let's not forget... FIVE CLASSES.
No more complaining about lack of character customization plz.
Honestly, I'm intending to use both the Gold and Real-Money AH. If I get an item with good rare mods, like top 2% kind of items, then I'm sticking them on the RM AH. If I find more items with less than top 2% kind of mods, but still really good, then maybe I'll fill out my free postings for the week with them, and then put the leftovers on Gold AH.

One hour to complete the beta is 1/3 of Act I. Each act gets shorter as you go up, so basically Act IV will be about an 1.5 hours or 2 hours? Fuck that.

1 Hour to complete the beta (1/3 of Act 1) Which means about 2-3 hours to complete act 1. There's three difficulties: Normal, Nightmare, and Hell. Which means there's 6-9 hours of Act 1 in total. There's also Act 2, 3 and 4. I think the total gameplay will last around 36 hours (just my assumption of course.)
I dont think the auction house will change diablo as far as people buying power. in d2 people baught items from 3rd party sites. it didnt affect people who didnt buy items for real money. some people played for fun and legit and some baught items cause they didnt have time to spend hours boss hunting.all it did was open the doorway to people getting hacked from logging onto insecure sites to buy items. at least it will be blizzard controling that now instead of insecure 3rd party sites.

I gotta be really honest with you guys, I DO NOT like the RMAH. BUT we all know that within weeks there will be tons of sites selling gear and Gold over the internet, so I'd rather have something safe and official, wich I can benefit from and maybe even make some money from myself than the way it was on Diablo 2.
Also Hardcore Mode won't allow gear bought on RMAH, so there we have it.

Ok i cant watch the whole thing (gotta work) but i have a question. Can you still trade with other players with out the auction house? I remember them saying no some where. The reasons i ask is the auction house only seemed to go with gold or real money. Now real money aside... will i be able to trade one item for another? And not just give gold for a specific item? So it takes one hour to complete the beta, and it's only about a third of act 1? So Act 1 will only take 3 hours to complete? The last 4-5 floors of Act 1 in D2 could take an hour to complete if you're playing casually. I get the feeling that D3 might be short on content.
@SkinnyStickz Considering that Act 1 would take you 3 hours to complete and considering there are as many Acts as Diablo 2 you'd be able to finish the game in around 15 hours, let's just say 20 because maybe the last Acts are longer.
Good luck finishing all Acts of Diablo 2 in 20 hours with your first character in you first run. It's probably faster to get your first WoW character to lvl 85.

What is the appeal to this game. I mean I play WoW and SC2, but this doesn't appeal to me visually. I saw WoW from my cousins. And saw SC2 from TotalBiscuit. They appealed to me because of their looks. But Diablo seems to be at a bad angle for camera. Can someone tell me what appeals them to this game so maybe I could get interested?
I'm waiting too much for this game man. I love Diablo and Diablo 3 took my breath away. But all this waiting it makes me say : Fuck it ! What if it's a kind of "Duke Nukem Forever Part II" ? @ungureanudoru I think comparing Diablo 3 to Duke Nukem is irrelevant and a bad comparison. You can't compare Diablo 3 to a game that we all knew wasn't going to be amazing in the first place. Blizzard works hard on their games and take longer than most other companies, and in the end, they always give us a higher standard, and better quality product than other gaming companies. Be patient for just a little longer and the wait will be worth it.
@JBeedle27 - I didn't compared the two of them face to face. Just mean to say that the time we waited for D.N.F. it was just a lost time when we finally played it. Blizzard/Activision it is indeed a huge company but all this waiting only shows that they got problems with the game or they were out of ideeas. I mean for a company like this, marketing (money) should not be a problem and same with people to work at the game. And that's why it should be a perfect game at the end after all
@ungureanudoru Not sure if you were just theoretically speaking or not, but to expect a "perfect" game is unrealistic, since there is no such thing. And Blizzard always takes extra time on all of their games and releases, so just because Diablo 3 is taking awhile doesn't mean there's a bunch of problems, it just means they want to release something worth playing. I see it this way: The longer it takes them to release the game, the better it will be when the game finally does launch. :D
What I'm wondering is back in May Jay Wilson said that they game would probably release 6 months after the beta. But they also said they are still on track for a 2011 release date. How is that possible unless his first statement wasnt true.

after i got passed my initial anger of no skills it's starting to sound more like a good idea. And sounds like it will make the campaign alot of fun. And one of you said in this cast that the auction house is how diablo will make money so this is how they will not charge a monthly fee which is a great idea. Now i fully support the real money auction house. The hole monthly fee is the biggest deal breaker to me. So i hope that is all true and no monthly fees on diablo 3.

I think the gold auction house will still be viable because people will be able to buy gold in the cash auction house for a very low price if everyone is selling their gold. The ability to buy/sell gold in the cash AH should keep the two in balance.

You know, all they're doing is implementing a service that was done by a third party, in a means of protecting the consumer while allowing less of a window for scam sites and farmers to prosper. People sold things for in-game currency on D2 even though they could go to other sites and sell them for real money so stop bitching that it's gonna ruin the gold auction.

I had been playing 'F2P' MMOs for over 3 years, then switched to P2P ones because of two things: theoretically you can't buy 'power' and the overall quality of the community (not perfect, mind you, but more 'mature' on average). Buying items for real money in D3 is at least controversial for me and I think I will probably end up playing solo because of that. The thing is I don't know yet if it's going to turn out to be something good or not for certain.

Possibility to have a hardcore mode type of thing, but instead of making your character not playable After dieing, have it like diablo 2 when you get 1 Reset Per difficulty play through (If they have it) and the ability to craft a way to reset it. like, in d2. the Token of absolution. and make them unable to freely change skills anytime they want. when there's a Regular mode that makes it all easy peasy for all of those casual players and hardcore for those strategic players who think through.

The store might make it a littler easier and safer but if you really wanted a WindForce, Sojs, Skill Charm, etc all you had to do was go on ebay. There will certainly be an exchange rate between gold and real money, gold farmers will eventually farm enough gold so that the exchange rate becomes ridiculous. This was something blizzard fought tooth and nail to stop in WOW to prevent the death of their economy. It will be even worse in Diablo 3 b/c the best weapons in WOW are BoP, but there's no such restriction for Diablo 3. The game will eventually degenerate into a microtransaction based economy.

What you're not mentioning is the top of the line items will be exclusively be sold for cash, because they're the best without question, people who find these items will be tempted to (always) sell them for real cash, whereas gold will be more of a crafting/low tier upgrade tool in terms of an auction house.

Each class has about 20 skills and 5 runes making for 100 effective skill choices. Selecting a subset of 6 skills yields 858 billion skill combinations for one class. Also, the runes are going to be rolling random item mods, making for even more possible combinations. There's also passive skills that I haven't figured into this calculation. Oh, and let's not forget... FIVE CLASSES.
No more complaining about lack of character customization plz.

If I find more items with less than top 2% kind of mods, but still really good, then maybe I'll fill out my free postings for the week with them, and then put the leftovers on Gold AH.

1 Hour to complete the beta (1/3 of Act 1) Which means about 2-3 hours to complete act 1. There's three difficulties: Normal, Nightmare, and Hell. Which means there's 6-9 hours of Act 1 in total. There's also Act 2, 3 and 4. I think the total gameplay will last around 36 hours (just my assumption of course.)

I dont think the auction house will change diablo as far as people buying power. in d2 people baught items from 3rd party sites. it didnt affect people who didnt buy items for real money. some people played for fun and legit and some baught items cause they didnt have time to spend hours boss hunting.all it did was open the doorway to people getting hacked from logging onto insecure sites to buy items. at least it will be blizzard controling that now instead of insecure 3rd party sites.

BUT we all know that within weeks there will be tons of sites selling gear and Gold over the internet, so I'd rather have something safe and official, wich I can benefit from and maybe even make some money from myself than the way it was on Diablo 2.
Also Hardcore Mode won't allow gear bought on RMAH, so there we have it.

If you don't let your voice be heard Blizzard will act like nothing is wrong.
If enough hub-bub is raised investors will get nervous, and they get nervous easily when fickle gaming communities are involved.

I played this franchise since the launch of the First Diablo. It's my favorite, ever.
I just couldn't believe Blizz was raping their game like that. I was in denial. Not anymore. I just removed my opt-in for Beta and don't intend to buy it anymore. I'm really sad and disappointed right now, but that's the hard truth and I have to face it.

Ok i cant watch the whole thing (gotta work) but i have a question. Can you still trade with other players with out the auction house? I remember them saying no some where. The reasons i ask is the auction house only seemed to go with gold or real money. Now real money aside... will i be able to trade one item for another? And not just give gold for a specific item? And would that mean that gold has more of a use than on diablo 2... which had almost no use. plz let me know.

So it takes one hour to complete the beta, and it's only about a third of act 1? So Act 1 will only take 3 hours to complete? The last 4-5 floors of Act 1 in D2 could take an hour to complete if you're playing casually. I get the feeling that D3 might be short on content.

@FutureEvan Well typically the final quest in each act takes much longer than the others. So perhaps the final quest will be an 2-3 hours+.

@SkinnyStickz Considering that Act 1 would take you 3 hours to complete and considering there are as many Acts as Diablo 2 you'd be able to finish the game in around 15 hours, let's just say 20 because maybe the last Acts are longer.
Good luck finishing all Acts of Diablo 2 in 20 hours with your first character in you first run. It's probably faster to get your first WoW character to lvl 85.

What is the appeal to this game. I mean I play WoW and SC2, but this doesn't appeal to me visually. I saw WoW from my cousins. And saw SC2 from TotalBiscuit. I'm waiting too much for this game man. I love Diablo and Diablo 3 took my breath away. But all this waiting it makes me say : Fuck it ! What if it's a kind of "Duke Nukem Forever Part II" ? I mean waiting for nothing more but a BIG FAILURE. I mean really, all this waiting should bring us a perfect game. Perfect optimization, no graphics glitches, no bugs, nothing bad. Just a perfect game with perfect gameplay. I really hope all this waiting is with a good worth.

@ungureanudoru I think comparing Diablo 3 to Duke Nukem is irrelevant and a bad comparison. You can't compare Diablo 3 to a game that we all knew wasn't going to be amazing in the first place. Blizzard works hard on their games and take longer than most other companies, and in the end, they always give us a higher standard, and better quality product than other gaming companies. Be patient for just a little longer and the wait will be worth it.

Blizzard/Activision it is indeed a huge company but all this waiting only shows that they got problems with the game or they were out of ideeas. I mean for a company like this, marketing (money) should not be a problem and same with people to work at the game. And that's why it should be a perfect game at the end after all

@ungureanudoru Not sure if you were just theoretically speaking or not, but to expect a "perfect" game is unrealistic, since there is no such thing. And Blizzard always takes extra time on all of their games and releases, so just because Diablo 3 is taking awhile doesn't mean there's a bunch of problems, it just means they want to release something worth playing. I see it this way: The longer it takes them to release the game, the better it will be when the game finally does launch. :D
