@GeorgiMl ? The DSPs in the OASYS are great, and you really cannot claim they are not making their own sounds.. actually most of the EXis are DSPs, only the HD1 instruments are pure sampled instruments..

OASYS is a very overrated keyboard. Unlike X5D (also Korg) or Kurz' K2600/PC3, OASYS does not make me feel like I want to buy it.

Played an OASYS once, it has nothing so special… Ho yes : the HUGE price ^^ Compared to a PC3, I really prefer the PC3. At any level (sound, engine). By far.

yeah i went over to my friends house and played his Oasys, it looked cool . but still the posibilities of the PC3 are endless, i just hope kurzweil brings out a new K3xxx synth because i love the inboard effects on the pc3 and i would like to run tracks through it.

The problem is that Korg decided NOT to make these beauties anymore ! Instead they started making the M3 which is dreadful compared to this masterpiece ..

Just because they are probably planning a release for an even better product than Oasys! Korg releases the flagship model, then starts to do those cut-down versions. Oasys --> M3 --> m50. The same thing was going on with the Triton/Trinity w/e -series if I'm not completely wrong. Anyhow, I think we might see something quite cool in Winter NAMM!

LMAO That is why most studios still use JV1080s... and the D50 with its unmatched sound. Your point isn't logical; How many times it sells doesn't mean it is better lmao it was the first workstation that is the only thing it has to say about itself... While as a D50 and even a DX7 (ill bring it in here too) were both bigger in the grand scheme of the synthesis of sounds in general. Sounds (which is why we play the damn things) vs. Workstation (which is an over all gemmick)

I had a Korg M3 and NO WAY DID IT SOUND AS GOOD AS AN OASYS.... they keep telling you its the same engine.. BULL........but OASYS needs to move ahead also.. its been stuck for a few years now. Why cant Korg Roland or Yammy make engines that sound like Virus T1s or Novation Supernova's... they were sofware based....not analog. I think Korg is moving ahead with its new SV1 .....its time to dump those engines that sound like rehashed samples over and over.

The M3 uses one of the Oasys engines but the signal path from engine to output stage is far superior in the Oasys hense the much better sound quality. And it is far superior. The Oasys can also play all engines simultaneously in one combination. The only instrument or synth I can not get the Oasys to emulate is the Ensoniq TS--the best synth ever created.

I wanted to add to my comments below since I forgot about the original Wavestation. The Wavestation in the Oasys, to me, is also not very reminicent of the original. Not only is it a poor representation, but the analogue warmth of the original gives a much better sound for wavesequencing purposes.
