@FantastyckplastycK Absolutely nothing wrong with that, but when watching covers to try and learn the song faithfully, a less showy take is appreciated. It's solely a matter of trying to learn the song, not a judgment of playing styles.
I am trying to cover "Under the Bridge" on the drums, and so I have watched every drum cover of it on YouTube. Yours is by far the best. You don't show off; you just play the song as it is. Thanks for the inspiration.
I'm playing a cover of this song on my saxophone with some guys (weird yeah but it actually sounds pretty cool ;) ) and I gotta show our drummer the song next (I don't think he knows it that well). The entire song prior to when you use the whole kit is just rim shots (tom?) and cymbal right? And is that some bass drum hits?
yea dude. its real easy highhat, rim clicks and thts a snare not a tom. and bass drum is from "i dont ever wanna feel" and on but 4 b4 tht its not played. although this song is good 4 mixin it up a bit n addin some.... more exicting stuff. so tell ur drummer tht its cool if they add stuff 2 spice it up a bit.
To be honest, I think your drummer is able to figure out this song if he listens to it a couple of times. This is one of the easiest songs on the planet-- and this is coming from a beginner drummer.
The 'rim shots' you are referring to are really rim clicks and are on the snare. The cymbals you're referring to are the hi-hats.
As for 'spicing it up' as fireoyea says.. that depends on your drummer's experience. The priority is to keep a consistent beat. Fills are extra. :)
Ye i agree It's an easy song to play but the main thing with a song like this is to get a real feel for the beat and ressist playing clumpy and choppy.
None the less though, great cover im just not "feeling" it
here the rimshot sound comes from the second tom, not the snare, but making a video playing a rimshot on a tom seemed silly to me, so it's kind of a fake. i recorded audio first and later added the video.
wow, thanks for explayning ! so the snarre has no real rim shot :-) your video edditting (i guess i spelled that wrong) skills are really amazing ! i heard a demo with johnny rabb with the hd1, and i saw him indeed hit a tom to get that rim shot sound :-) still, that hd1 kit seems more than good enough for a beginner drummer :-D the only "drum" expiriance i have is with guitar hero world tour hahaha.
oh, wrote that about beginner drumer maybe a bit wrong. i did not ment you are a beginner drummer, but me, as i am also getting me the hd1 this summer :-) hope this clears things up for other readers as well, before i get flamed :-) hahaha.
No funciona.
Wow u we're perfectly in time then nice :)

nice
how did you get the music without the drum cus whenever i want to just play along i have to use the real song by them?
cheers
hughjward 4 months ago
@hughjward I use the real song, not a drumless track ;)

this isnt a cover you are playing exactly what the original plays.
a drum cover is taking a song and adding to it and/or adding your unique style to it.

@Juken10 A cover is what you wanna play at that moment. I wanted to play Chad's part.

it's called "rimshot". In this kit you can play it on tom 2 of variation 1, i'm only playing along to my recorded version.
