  • If Sony and Microsoft where like this... fucking hell, I would of gave up on gaming ALONG TIME AGO!

  • Jazz Jackrabbit. NOT ON CONSOLE

  • still no blast possessing

  • if only nowadays playstation release a commertial saying NEW UNCHARTED 3 - ULTRA GRAPHICS AND NOT ON XBOX 360

  • You guys, please help me out here. I can't seem to find a DKC commercial I remember seeing when I was little (either I haven't looked enough, or it's not uploaded). It played the song Rock and Roll Part 2 by Gary Glitter and it had real monkeys raising their arms on the "Hey!" part of the song. =P Does anybody else remember this? Was it even a DKC commercial?

  • sega is better

  • @123stephenno no nintendo is

  • Moral of story : Don't ever mess with Nintendo like SEGA did

  • @MegaMario1500 yeah. think about mario and sonic at the olimpic games. mario and sonic compete. if nintendo and sega would compete nintendo could wip sega's butt anytime

  • @KnucklesEchidna5, Actually it was Sony giving the last final kick to SEGA with the PS2, that killed the Dreamcast and SEGA. SEGA stepped down to software only, and now produces games for their former enemies.

  • @TheRealDutchOwner yeah. i know. but if nintendo and sega aren't rivals anymore, why do mario and sonic compete in mario and sonic at the olimpic games?

  • @KnucklesEchidna5, Because Nintendo and Sega haven't released a game where Mario and Sonic are on eachothers side. YET. I believe the Wii U can get such a game. They both are heroes fighting bad guys, and Robotnik and Bowser can get on eachothers side too. I don't know if it's gonna be a real game, but i think it's a good concept.

  • @TheRealDutchOwner wait. don't they join in mario and sonic at the 2012 olimpic games?

  • @MegaMario1500 the moral of the story is that Sony is allmighty and nintendo will die against him. In a matter of 10 years. I think the wii and the 3ds u is the start of nintendo decay

  • @vagoperezoso lololololo That's what YOU think. Each person has a opinion.

  • Get "N" or get out.

  • MY RIGHT EAR FOREVER ALONE

  • YOW! MY LEFT EAR!

  • Thanks But I Would Rather Play Sega Genesis And Sonic The Hedgehog

  • Great game, one of my fave games since i was 13 when i got it for christmas for my SNES as i grew up with Donkey Kong in the 80's and the Gameboy remake of DK i also got for christmas as well which was terrific.

  • Nintendo is what Segain't. And PlayStation rocks when Xblows.

  • @shadowtoast102 you didnt do it rigt its nintendo is what genisisnt

  • :yaoming: i had it in my laptop

  • Third parties saved the SNES. Third parties shat up the Wii.

  • @thejobloshow Actually, Rareware is a 2nd party developer because they made games exclusively for nintendo. Now Nintendo has Retro Studios, the 2nd party developer that made Metroid Prime 1, 2, and 3 and even went so far to make Donkey Kong Country Returns. So if you ask me, I'd say that Retro Studios is just as good as Rareware when it comes to reviving characters with highly-polished and fun to play games.

  • @LegendOfAGamer Retro sucks.

  • TAKE THAT!

  • Damn guys. The Sega VS Nintendo war still going on? Im a fan of both Sega and Nintendo. I agree both compinys had some great games. Nintendo has Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Donkey kong, Kirby while sega has Sonic, Phantasy star, Ecco ( i wish they didnt forget about ecco) Vectorman, Ristar. Just let the war die guys.

  • NOT ON SEGA!

  • This game, along with allowing blood in the SNES version of MK2, is why SNES won the console war, among their other outstanding games.

I still think this is the greatest console ever made based on the amount of great games it has.

  • @AGentertainment Then you haven't used Dolphin. Dolphin is DA shit - AND IT*S A EMULATOR?!

  • this game is so nintendo, stands out in everything.. graphics, sound, gameplay. nintendo in purest form

  • I'm a SEGA man, but god damnit Donkey Kong Country is the reason everyone wanted a SNES.

  • this is one of the greatest classic game ever!

  • This commercial is really great...

  • that was the game changer

  • My oldest brother was such an asshole with this game. He bought it because he had a big allowance and then he charged us like $3 an hour to play it and wound up making back all his money. When I saw the ads for Donkey Kong Country I shit in my pants. It was that good.

  • This was made for Sega shut the fuck up. Don't ever mess with Nintendo! Now, Sega does games for Nintendo. Life is funny, huh?

  • nintendo es mierda al solo incluir discos en game mierda y la wii y sega desde sega genesis

  • LOL NINTENDO HAD MARIO, DONKEY KONG, LINK, POKEMONS, AND OTHER SUPER ICONS AND THAT MADE NES A SUPER NES LOL AND SEGA JUST HAD SONIC LOL

  • Take that Sega!!! >:P

  • I don't know why these 2 systems compete like this I mean they are both great systems I owned both back in the day.

  • Genesis Does What Ninten...DOH!

  • Nintendo's Fuck You to Sega.

  • @TheRealDutchOwner

    watch?v=k7nsBoqJ6s8&lc

Sega's first fuck you to nintendo.

  • not on mother fucking sega

  • @Rodrigo00 You sir have just inspired me to remake this commercial xD....

  • Lol nintendo rehash masters cant wait for all the N64 rehashes on my already failing 3ds. Nintendo FTW!!!!

  • This commercial is the only time Nintendo ever bashed Sega. Yet Sega insisted on bashing Nintendo ever since the Genesis was released. WHY?

  • @wwtoonlinkfan Nintendo did diss Sega on at least one other occasion. At the end of the SNES Star Fox commercial the narration goes 'Why go to the next level, when you can go beyond". That was a jab at Sega's slogan "Welcome to the next level".

  • I guess it was just a misunderstanding that I tought about genesis, mega cd and 32x :P Reminds me of Genesis does!

  • Back when Rare made awesome games...

    ah, memories.

  • @OddDeity yeah. Right until they fucked away off to Microsoft!

  • @phily4life

    Too true.

  • Is this real?

  • "THE FIRST FULLY RENDERED VIDEO GAME EVER"

what? i thought all video games had to be rendered...i don't get that can someone explain it?

  • @supercrapnstuff11 Yeah, it's worded in a pretty stupid way. What they mean is that it's the first game to utilize pre-rendered 3D graphics, which is what gives the sprites the appearance of additional depth. It doesn't look all that impressive by modern standards, but DKC was quite a looker in its day.

  • @supercrapnstuff11

In those days, before 3D on home game consoles we only had 2D games. DKC was completely pre-rendered CGI done on SGI machines which cost Rare a small fortune. Rare developed a new rendering technique which allowed them to add more details and animations for each sprite, it used a given memory footprint which was never done on the SNES before, making it the first fully "rendered" videogame ever. The SNES' ability to do 256 colors helped add realism to the graphics as well.

  • @Chaniyth i find it funny how i grew up with a SNES so i have no idea who "we" is referring to, i just never saw this paticular commercial, and if thats the case then im sorry to say starfox blew me away MUCH more

  • where you going to find it NOT ON SEGA NOT ON 32X ADAPTERS not on CD ROMS ONLY FOR SUPER NES

  • Back when it felt like I was playing with Power!

  • Yeah, "fully rendered". Sega replied with SONIC 3D. Horrible 2D games pre-rendered with 3D (is it called CGI or something?). Both games looked like shit tbh^^

  • @NoMac90

DKC still looks and plays amazing. I don't know what you're talking about.

  • HAHA as cartman would say suk my ballz sega.

  • Man, it pissed on not only the Genesis, but the 32X and the Sega CD!

  • Tarzan Got Jealous at 0:26

  • I had both systems i had snes first but i bought genesis for the hell of it... It was ok too...

  • Rare then proceeds to leave Nintendo and join Microsoft... How ironically cruel.

  • @zacjhutch ...

    Wha.... what?

That was years after this commercial was made... Microsoft wasn't in the gaming business...

    the fuck bro?

  • ouch sega ouch

  • sega ended up getting shaq fu

  • I bought my SNES with Donkey Kong Country, it was a bundle.

  • NOT ON SEGA ...

The scene: November 18, 1994. 11 year old kid has come home from school and sees that ad on TV.

Kid: I want a SNES and DKC for Christmas.

Mom: But don't you already have a Genesis.

Kid: If you don't get me a SNES and DKC I'll s*** on your car's driver seat.

Mom: Go wash your mouth out with.... (commercial comes on again) All right, I'll get you the game. Can I play it too?

    Kid: Yes you can.

  • GENESIS OWNS

  • Sega (in the 90's) kicked ass with the Sonic and Mortal Kombat series. In addition to the Dreamcast, which came out at the tail end of the decade.

But Nintendo simply kicked multiple asses every step of the way...Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Street Fighter, Mega Man...the list goes on and on. NES, SNES, and N64 were all great systems.

  • @kc86er Street fighter 2 was on the GENESIS too, and it was a better version

  • 10 people were Sega owners and not Nintendo's.

  • @ARNGRIMPRO no 10 ppl are nintendo fucking owners and the other are sega, GO SEGA

  • @TaInTeDlYnX Killer Instinct looks terrible? GTFO n00b! KI looked awesome.

  • I remember when companies could trash talk each other like that .. Can't pull that these days.

  • in the ass

  • lol sega got pwnd

  • @phrixil They're both good games, are we really still at the point of saying which 16 bit game had better graphics? You'd think people would have learned from console wars past, guess not.

  • @deviant3232 the console wars will be always there until Nintendo wins.

  • NOT ON SEGA.

  • 17 years on and this game's graphics are still amazing to look at!

  • @phily4life don't say that about 17 years now. I can't believe it is already 17! Damn!

  • I'm playing this game right now on the wii from the wii shop channel

  • Ιs this the US commercial? Unbelievable times.

  • Not on CD-Rom=Not on PS1,3DO

    @IrishRetroGamer Nintendon't what Genesis Sucks.

  • haha damn! xD I can't rembember that the "console war" was as hard in Europe too. I still have both: SNES and Mega Drive (Genesis)

  • Let's see the events of Sega vs. Nintendo, shall we?

Nintendo introduces the NES, an 8bit system

Sega introduces the Genesis, a 16bit system

Nintendo introduces their own 16bit system, the Super NES

Then Sega creates a 32bit system called the Sega Saturn

    Then Nintendo releases the N64

Then Sega releases the Dreamcast which shined in its 15 minutes of fame.

  • @Melink03

thats incorrect, before Sega launched the Sega Megadrive/ Genesis, Sega launched the Sega Master System. Sega introduces the Sega CD/ Mega CD and the Sega 32x first before introducing the saturn

  • @rbergman1979 I'm sorry I didn't do the research...

  • Oh, the good old days. I remember this game. I had and still have a shitload of fun with it. Dispite having a PS3, I still go back to this game and finish it. It takes me back.

  • When my father was young he was like:

    TV: DONKEY KONG!

    Dad: Meh

    TV: NOT ON SEGA!

Dad: I'm going to the store!

  • I laughed at the not cd rom part xD

  • That's cool and all,

but what's with the fucking seizure-inducing flashing shit?

No wonder your parents told you that watching television was bad for your eyes.

  • The 'not on CD-ROMS' part is a bit lolol.

Where you are really going to find this game is on Silicon Graphics Computers, first discovered by Rare in 1994, which were also used to make Toy Story (both the film and the game).

  • I've been a Sega man since the Master System, but when I saw this commercial I was like "Sonic the who?"

  • Sega Started the war... they are like Nazis they want to kill every console!

but what nintendo did? HE STAND! he didnt go away! he punched sega in the nuts!

  • omg i found my old super nes!!! AND DONKEY KONG COUNTRY!!!

  • not on 32x adapters XD

  • at the end of this commercial, it should've said: Super NES is what Genesisn't! :D

  • wow nintendo actually answered to segas''insults''xD

  • Moral of the story: "Don't mess with Nintendo"

  • @VideoViewer9002 Don't mess with it in Japan for sure. But Nintendo couldn't win the war in none of the western regions.

  • Amazing to think that this was all based on King Kong....

  • este commercial es anti-sega

  • @Ema11220 totally.

  • Nintendo fought back and WON!

  • Lol remember when sega wouldn't sue nintendo for copyright infringement like this? Ah those were the days.

  • "THE FIRST FULLY RENDERED VIDEO GAME EVER"

    Whatever you say, guys.

  • @TheSoulless Not sure what that means either, but a whole lot better than "blast processing."

  • @sdcazares1980 Blast procseseing is a term of a faster processor. YEAASH

  • @JoostRevo It was more of a marketing ploy to make Sega look "cooler."

  • @TheSoulless Lol, exactly. Whatever "Fully rendered" was supposed to mean, SEGA didn't have it lol

  • @SoilentGr33n It means the game is 3D, basically. And it isn't. Nintendo was lying, but both sides did a lot of that back then.

  • @TheSoulless Yeah I know lol. This war was delicious in every way

  • @TheSoulless Um, that's not what "fully rendered" means. It means that each frame of the character and environment animations were taken *from* three-dimensional computer renderings instead of drawn as normal sprites, like most games of the time. So, no, no lying there.

  • @MistareFusion I'n aware of that, idiot. But it's still deceptive marketing. No, they aren't technically lying, but yes, they are using wordplay to entice the consumer to purchase the product. Keep in mind this came out around the time when true 3D games were all the rage. Nintendo explicitly garnered this commercial for the consumer who would assume the game was fully rendered, 3D, and in real-time.

  • @TheSoulless I think the commercial makes it fully apparent that it's not in 3D. So sorry if you got burned by not paying attention. And there's no need to fall in line with the bulk of YouTube comments by being an asshole and resorting to juvenile name calling just because I disagree with your bizarre interpretation of marketing.

  • @TheSoulless I have no interest in getting involved in a pissing contest with you. The fact of the matter is that the commercial claims it's fully rendered, and the graphics models ARE fully rendered. I'm sorry if that makes you feel cheated, but I just don't understand why you feel compelled to take it out on me. I didn't make the commercial.

  • @MistareFusion I work with what you give me, kiddo.

  • @TheSoulless And what exactly did I give you? A dissenting opinion? Again, I'm sorry that shocks you so much, but I didn't insult you, so what place does that have in this conversation, "kiddo"?

  • @MistareFusion Look at this guy, getting so mad over video game arguments. Pathetic.

  • @TheSoulless Yeah, just keep telling yourself that. I told you I had no interest in getting into a pissing contest with you, and I meant it. In the future, try not to be so sensitive. You'll get along with people more easily.

  • @MistareFusion Then stop replying, loser.

  • @TheSoulless youre stupid. MistareFusion: 1, TheSoulless: 0.

  • @MistareFusion if youre nottrying to have a pissing contest with him, why do you keep arguing? lol

  • @vegetaou12 because souless is an idiot that doesn't no what fully rendered means, and gets in arguements he can't win, and acts like a five year old with the vocabulary of a retarded protozoan.

  • @PokemonMaster386493 "...with the vocabulary of a retarded protozoan." Well, at least I know how to spell the words "Soulless" and "know."

  • @TheSoulless welcome to teh interwebz, where grammar is not required

  • @PokemonMaster386493 but 1) it reads and looks awfully 2) you look stupid 3) companies welcome intelligent people who can read and write correctly.

  • @TheSoulless

quite a number of people that post on the web, can't be arsed to spell properly.

  • Where YOU gonna find it?

    Not On SEGA!!

  • and to this day, DK country is besting Sega ^^

  • 0:26 Tarzan yell?

  • u put coming soon on the wii verticle console :P

  • Unbelievable. This looked epic back then and guess what? IT STILL LOOKS EPIC.

Freaking heck. I love the SNES.

  • "genisis does what Nintendon't" Well NintenDOES

  • 10 people like sega master systume better than the snes

  • Vectorman won.

  • @cAc3d Technically, in terms of sales, popularity and magazine awards, Vectorman lost. Fun game though.

  • Nintendo is what Genesisn't!

  • Can "Blast Processing" do this?!

  • this commercial must have been a huge fu to sega

  • @naptu1 Yeah XD Nintendo made Sega @#$% bricks and eat em

  • @naptu1 Well, Sega used "Genesis does what Nintendon't", so it's only fair.

Ugh, why did the Playstation have to beat the N64 and the Dreamcast? An unworthy victor if there ever was one.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman Dreamcast was next generation so it should be why did playstation beat the n64 and saturn?

  • @Mr619rko The Dreamcast is counted in the same generation as n64 and PS1.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman Then where does the saturn go if thats true?

  • @Mr619rko It's an overlap. By the time the PS1 came out the Saturn had been out for a while but was flagging do to poor promotion.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman This is an extract from wikipedia "Platforms of the sixth generation include the Sega Dreamcast, Sony PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and Microsoft Xbox"

from the history of video games (sixth generation), and to refer to your previous point the dreamcast was only discontinued because the PS2 had gained control of the market and the dreamcast couldn't make a profit with millions of dreamcast that were never shipped

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman The Sega Dreamcast was a 128 bit generation home console system, it was part of the sixth generation, just because it came out in 98/99 when Nintendo were still producing N64's and Sony with PS1's, it does not make SEGA's system part of the same generation as them, SEGA made the decision to release their latest home system long before Nintendo got the chance with their Gamecube and the PS2 then eventually the Xbox - which came last.

The Dreamcast was way ahead of the pack.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman No, Dreamcast was in 6th generation with Gamecube, Xbox, and PS2.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman Pfft! Playstation was fucking supernatural. Not that N64 and Dreamcast weren't as well...The easiest argument is that Playstation's quality to quantity ratio was the highest of the three.

  • @quackajack13z Not really. The PS1 console sold well because the games were easy to pirate.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman Wow. Do I even humor this comment? That is impossibly fucking stupid.

  • @quackajack13z It's true. The fact that the games were easily pirated was a huge contributing factor to the original PlayStation's sales. Another contributing factor was the number of replacements people had to buy because the motherfucker didn't have a cooling system.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman You're an absolute moron if you think that any -even remotely- significant percentage of Playstation consoles were sold for that reason in particular. Let's stretch the shit out of common reason and say that that is true. What point would you be making then? That 'tons of normal, magically semi-tech-savvy people with modified cd-burners bought the Playstation just to play a bunch of crappy games for free'? No. The fact still stands that the games were incredible. Pirated/not.

  • @quackajack13z I never said the games WEREN'T incredible. Apart from loading screens to put Sonic 06 to shame, plenty of the games were incredible indeed. But they also had incredibly poor copy protection. As such, cheaper-than-retail bootlegs were widely available so people bought the console they could get cheap games for.

What I said was bad was the PlayStation 1 itself. It had no cooling system, so overheats were common unless a strong fan was blowing on the damn thing.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman Plenty of them killed themselves. And the worst part is the mistake was repeated in the successor.

The thing about the N64 was that producing quality games for cartridges (which Nintendo stuck with for that round because they're harder to bootleg by far) was costlier both in terms of money and man-hours, so a lot of third-party developers switched to the PlayStation because CDs were cheaper and easier to work with.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman Ok....Didn't realize we were talking about stuff like that. A little irrelevant...but sure, whatever. I guess I agree that the actual, physical hardware was a piece of shit. Personally, I've been through three different earlier model Playstations. Oh, and no loading times on any decent Playstation game were as bad as Sonic 06. Nothing puts that game to shame. It's King in every category.

  • @quackajack13z Well, when I would play FF7 on my friend's PS1 it was.. bad. Imagine if you will having a half-hour turn, but only getting ten minutes worth of gameplay. It got as bad as the PC version did on a box that only met the minimum requirements. It was like trying to watch internet video with a cheap dial-up modem. Sonic 06 has a large number of screens but at least for me it usually goes through them fast.

Speaking of my friends who had PlayStations, a lot of their games were bootlegs

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman Well, I'd assume that'd be normal if your friends were 1. Playstation players in the 2000s; and 2. Nerds(no offense). If they had their bootlegs in the 90s, then they were committing a very uncommon act. And if that FF7 copy you were playing was a bootleg, then it only makes sense that the loading times were bad. I've been playing an official copy of that game -on and off- for the last 14 years on an old PS, and loading times have never even remotely been a problem.

  • @quackajack13z Nah, it was legit. Toy Story 2 on the other hand was a bootleg but it ran fine. It was actually the late '90s.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman Then the Playstation and/or disc was in crap condition. Trust me, it's not a standard thing.

  • @quackajack13z Probably a little of both.

The worst experience I've ever had with game load-times was with my Starship Titanic discs... after they got scratched to hell. They're still readable but with the scratches it took the computer forever to transition between some screens. My current box would probably do a better job, since it's got a way more advanced drive (and, well, everything except the printer and speakers, which are carryovers) than the one we all had to share back in 2001.

  • @ZeldaTheSwordsman CARTRIDGES ARE THE BEST and i dont care what no one says now im hungry dont know why but cartridges reminds me of food:)

  • @quackajack13z How angry would YOU be if he told you he was just kidding?

  • @quackajack13z nope it wasn't, most of the big games like resident evil were shitty games with really crappy gameplay.

  • @deraickripper Cool, I haven't read about that.

  • @quackajack13z

I object. N64 had a much higher quality-quantity ratio, but mainly because it had only a third of the number of games PS1 had. It's impossible to argue with the exclusives, though. Mario 64, Goldeneye, Diddy Kong Racing, Ocarina, Majora's Mask, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 64, Rouge Squadron, and the list goes on. On top of that, there was no need for a multitap, and loading times did not exist.
