Let me tell you something, Johnny Mathis is one of the smoothest crooners who ever lived and its hard to do a duet with someone that great without getting over-shadowed, but Deniece Williams pulled it off because she was such a powerful singer as well, voice like an angel, to the point where she could actually sit there with Johnny Mathis and sound equally as incredible, and as an added plus the girl just oozed class from every fiber of her being ... just like Johnny Mathis.

Someone did this song on Red Faces. The left side of him was a black bloke and the right side was a white woman. He sung the whole duet as one person, changing direction 180 degrees very quickly between "too much", "too little" and "too late" as if it was a duet and they were singing to each other. It was truly brilliant. Of course, he won the night.

The stars were aligned just right when Johnny and Denise sang this song. It is simply beautiful! Not only were Johnny and Denise duet partners, but they fell in love with each other, and Denise says she still loves him to this day, and she knows that he still loves her. I don't know what went wrong with these artists today, but they just don't have half the talent and magic that artists had in those days.
