  • Lol, good for warmups. Most guitar players can't even play this to begin with, let alone warming up our fingers to it. ;)

  • to really test your might you need to try soothesayer by buckethead

  • HEY I DID A DUAL COVER OF THIS SONG! :) CHECK IT FOR ME THANKS \m/

  • that was intense!! on the solo, how do you practice that really fast picking for the little run near the beggining at 1:51?? I really need to learn to do that it sounds so good. keep rockin'

  • you are a god.

  • If I could learn 1 song it would be this

  • You, didn't miss a note :) 4 people were blinded by your epicness and hit the thumbs down, but that's okay. What head/cab do you use?

  • HELL YEA! Us Alabama boys know how to play guitar too!

  • YOU. BAND. NOW.

  • awesome

  • damn!!! you're good man! i liked it. i actually watch guitar covers for me to know the right chords and riffing of any song that i wanna play. thanks man.

  • dang that was tough!!!! fav song fav solo and u did man great

  • You skipped the hardest part

  • you make this look way too easy

should have had the intro though, im not criticising, just commenting.

  • exelent job!!! sounds exactly like it to me, again great job

  • nice playing. check out my cover. I recorded by putting my guitar lead in my comp so its got better sound quality

  • dude reminds me of seth green.

  • NOOOOOOOOOO! haha

  • damn, that was pretty badass lol, where do you get your tabs from?

  • tabs are up on their myspace page i believe

  • holy shit , lol ur so calm when ur playing , nice job

  • Geezzz maaan I diiddnt kneeww aannyy onee whhoo couuldd pplayy the solo off thhat songgo O.O yoou Roockk, andd veeryy hhardd(y)

  • godly fingers with the light on it

  • dude youd make AJ Minette go "wow hes a good player" hat off to you pal

  • amaziingly done man! :D

  • dude,if you can reply it wold be great :D..i just wanna ask..i try sweeping...but i leave some strings ringing on the open note ..i dont know how to stop that..can you help?

  • u know how to palm mute right, well, given that u are using the correct motion of sweeping in ur left hand, and ur left hand is moving in time, u can roll ur palm as u sweep. this will make each note more prominent and clean.

  • I had the same problem at first - specifically, with the G string ringing when open. I just kept at it and made sure the sweeping was good while ignoring any unwanted noises from open strings. It eventually just worked itself out (my left hand actually does all of the muting for me).

  • MY ADVICE: Don't worry about shutting up the string with either hand. Just keep practicing and focus on your form and hitting the right strings at the right time. Hopefully the ringing will automatically disappear as mine did.

  • wow,thanks buddy..il do it :P

  • yea i was just sayin. he can do that in the mean time

  • That was amazing.

How long did it take you to learn to sweep like that?

  • A couple of weeks

  • Comment removed

  • Beer Nuts!

  • Holy Crap... YES!

  • your speed and timing are a bit off in the intro, but none-the-less...good!

also, i'd like to the note, that the lead guitar for this song is a lot easier to play with full-feldged six finger/string tapping

  • Tabz..?

  • i believe they put them on their myspace page (the human abstract)

  • sweep lessons plz

  • my version isnt perfect but check it out :)

  • you sir, are awesome

  • mendigo puercooo0=p heeeeeeeea!!!

  • god damn i love that solo.

  • why the lack of intro?

  • you should test your might and try Between the buried and me-Alaska

  • Dude, he needs to do White Walls. Ultimate endurance test.

  • hell yeah, i bet he could pull it off tho.

  • @TonyJames95 or selkies <3

  • @TonyJames95 bullshit lol ive only been playin for 3 years this x-mas and can already play alaska and selkies (including sweeps) but this song is just to fast for me so id say he would be best to learn something off of colors or something more up to par for this bamf!! =) keep it up sir!!

  • the solo was fantastic. haha you and me sweep the same way kinda

  • Sicccccck man, do you have tabs??

  • hey can anyone give me a link for the tabs for the verse? every one i've seen so far is for the intro and the second half.

  • Fucking amazing

  • Aww you skipped the intro and the prechorus. The prechorus is harder than the solo i think. I attempted a full cover of this song and ive only been playing for two years and a half, tell me what you think :P

But your solo is really good ::)

  • nice job man

  • awsome...amazing..i suck at sweeping...i can barely do it.......any tips

  • practice, practice, practice. then practice some more. there is no secret to make you instantly learn it. all i can say to you is good luck. :)

  • what worked for me is to get a song with some easy sweeps at a slow speed, medium speed, fast speed, and ungodly speed.

Beast and the Harlot is a good slow one to get the basic technique down in rhythm, and pretty much anything by Yngwie would fall into the ungodly category

  • thats exactly what i did! :) i even started with beast and the harlot.

  • rob marcello too.

  • Beat and the Harlot has some great sweeps, the sweeps from the Bat Country solo are also some great ones to get down. Once you start getting the feel of it try to play the intro to Children of Bodom's Towards Dead End, you won't get it right away, but its great practice. Good luck!

  • Haha.

    Yngwie Malmsteen IS a god!!

  • i failed english too

  • that was awesome

  • *gives up*

    nice job dude!!

  • wow

dude you fucking legend!!! great cover of a great song

  • why did you skip the intro? and the sweeps near the middle?

  • cause he was playing one guitar part

  • yeah but the intro is both guitarists...?

  • possibly. it sounds like it. but i think the intro is on an acoustic cause i dont recall THA playing the intro live. maby they do idk

  • yeah they do play the intro lol i saw em last night in columbus wit ATR!!!

  • dang i was ganna go to that show but couldnt get enough money for gas and a ticket. all my favorite bands were playing that show too thats why im pissed i couldnt go haha.

  • Amazing job man just fantastic

  • oh but this is sick.

  • you need to turn your guitar up and turn the music down a little bit....they blur too much.

  • yeah, tell me about it. I STILL haven't found the best way to do this yet. Almost all of my vids had a different recording process and it's frustrating. Also, after I upload a video it sounds different due to conversion and internet audio and I'm not going to take the time to tweak and tweak. Wow, that was a bunch of babbling! Anyways, this was one of my first vids but they're getting better.

  • Try getting a 1/4"-1/8" adapter, and plug directly into your computer. That way you can change the levels on each individual track!

Or, listen to the song through headphones and play along with it and dub the mp3 in afterwards.

Kickass though, I wish I had my sweeps down that well.

  • wow dude... that's sick.

  • Have my children please.

  • Pure magic. :)

  • dude...you got those sweeps down so fuckin ridiculously smooth! they looked effortless, keep it up man.

  • is that a roland Jc in the background?

  • u did that solo alot better than they can live =D

  • great cover man... i like alOT!!!!!

  • dude. you fuckin' rock. hellz yeah!

  • his guitar tune is spot on u douche bags in fact it sound exactly like the original which is amazing

  • That tone is beat.

  • if you had better tone and sound quality these bids would be awesome

  • wow. thats all i can say. theres not to many people that can pull that off.

  • a bit hard to hear.

  • my god.....you're amazing......nice sweeps

  • i dont like you man your way too good!

haha some day i will attemp the solo

but im not such an advanced sweep picker

so yeh i hope you feel good about yourself man

    coz you kick!

  • nice job

  • nice guitar dude

  • damn good job on the solo man.

check out some of my videos.

  • nm i see its not a v but wut kind is it?

  • wut kind of esp is that? the v-500??

  • JH600

  • Solo always gives me chills

  • Wow dude...really fuckin nice, fuck the mistakes man...the way I see it, you hit more right notes than wrong haha...I notice when you sweep you utilize all your fingers, was that a conscious effort or was that just the most natural way to play...keep it up, and do Vela if you haven't, that'd be sick

  • Ironically, sweep patterns that involve a finger change for each string are the patterns most comfortable to me. I am MUCH faster and much more smooth with those. I'll take a look at Vela. I didn't make a vid because so many others did (same with crossing rubicon) but I might. I remember most of it.

  • Yeah same! those sweeps are so much easier that invole finger er string. But i try to practice the 3 strings per finger sweeps especially considering the human abstract use those a lot

  • fucking cool

  • awesome job. solo was flawless

  • Very good. I cant stretch my sweeps far enough, i have short fingers:(

  • awesome job bro.

  • nice job on the solo

    sounds pretty radd

  • nioooce

  • if this band didnt do so many sweeps i would like them a lot more...probably just cause i suck at sweeps...but you deff. did it good...good job

  • I just learned how to sweep - and still learning. I have an awesome strategy for improving your sweeps...I may make a video tomorrow. I have watched a ton of instructional videos, but most of them are boring "look at me play" vids. My motto: VERY slow and perfect + a lot of times = fast and perfect.

  • yeah..thats pretty much how i learn all my songs..just play the harder parts slow until i learn them..but yeah i just need to practice my sweeps a little bit and i should be good

  • haha it's funny right @ 2:52 we both shook our heads, i was laughing at pure joy and just tense like "come on hit that part come on come on" lol it's crazy i just started sweeping with AJ's part on NOCTURNE :( damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!! :)

    oh yeah good job.

  • I know. I think it's so funny watching myself make a mistake or shake my head or something. hah!

  • aww you didnt do the good part in the breakdown, good none the less

  • 10/10 on your sweeps man great technique i cant get them down like that.

  • damn nice sweeeeeps

  • chek my videos i have the same ax men jojo

  • awesome job with the sweeps dude

    very clean

me and my drummer did a cover of them too

    keep it metal

  • good job! nice video!really sounds nice:)

    5/5 from me !
