If I don't have a social security number, I can't get a job, I can't do anything. I am therefore dependent on the system rather than my own will to better myself.

If you think about it we do not need this cut 30%. We need this eventually cut 100%. When the GOV pays big money for this, companies jack up the prices and destroy any competition which keeps the market balanced. If we can cut this stuff out the prices will return to normal. Can you imagine being able to afford a doctors visit? But we seem to think the role of GOV is to support us when we hit hard times??? No, this is not what it is meant to be.

I hate to say it but we can not afford these programs. Not because anybody does not want to pay their taxes but because we literally (dollar value) cannot afford this. Not this and not any of these other programs where the government steals from Americans, borrows from other countries, and inflates our dollar to support this. WE ARE BROKE. We have got to let the people take care of each other rather than let the government steal and do it in our place. This just skyrockets these costs.

Whats with all the hate? The point is completely valid.... Republicans are voting to only cut programs like medicare, basically undermining the entire point of those programs. Like this video points out, seniors with medicare, if the republicans have their way, are basically screwed in the near future. To me it's obvious that cutting programs won't solve all the problems- you'll have to raise taxes too. For financial and ethical reasons.

Medicare is a burden on the taxpayers that needs to be cut with such legitimate burdens placed on the budget and national security. If the AMA made healthcare more affordable by getting rid of residency caps, excessive restrictions on allied professions' scopes of practice such as nurses and pharmacists not based on training, and sped up FDA regulation, health care would be much cheaper.
