Mcgraw-Hill is a great book for math but the best book you can get is AFQT for dummies. Has a huge math section and helps alot!! look on amazon for reviews

@uav45, do you have a study guide? cause if you don't i recommend getting the kaplan asvab 2011 edition or mcgraw hill's asvab 2nd edition. these are the best asvab books by far. i don't recommend the asvab for dummies has to many errors trust me i looked in it an i was shocked so absolutely don't get it. but the books i told you about are helping me like crazy I'm also a senior in high school. an going to the army for (11 bravo infantryman). p.s study, study, an study hit me back

i took mine pretest by USMC i got 28 points and i whose totally wow because i didn't know that I will have to do any tests to gat in it whose more like what do they have to offer.

If I understood you right, yes each part of the test is a different score. Your final score is added together on the AFQT from each subject, PC, NO, CS, AS, MK, MC, EI. Just make sure you study hard before your test and don't forget you can fall the ASVAB. I hope I anwsered your question..take care
Yes true, all those subjects are on the ASVAB. The ASVAB has a total of 8 subtest. If didn't know what they meant here they are again. General Science, Arithmethic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Mathemmatics Knowledge, Electronics Information, Auto & Shop Information, Mechanical Comprehension.

the main topics for the asvab are the fou main subtests that are arithmatic reason, math knowledge, word knowledge and paragraph comp. those are the main test the build your AFQT the other test determine what jobs you are best suited for but if your just worrying about the enlistment score (AFQT) then just focus mainly on those four tht i just said i told my recruiter that i wanna take mine oct 14th cuz i wanna score a 50 or higher on my asvab
ya dude am a second year senior in high and about to graduate in october ,and am joining the army its never been so hard,even after passing the asvab with a 36 I cant ship out till 2010 cause the army is to over crowded.
I take my ASVAB in about an hour and a half..I'll tell you how it goes. I took the practice ASVAB the first time and got a 27...Studied the ASVAB for dummies and got a 40 so hopefully I do well on the real one today.

I got a 35...I guess it's alright, considering that's the National Average. My GT score was 92, MM was 97, and EL was 95. I still have like 30 jobs to chose from too. I'm thinking of Automotive mechanic,Hygienic Specialist (Water Purification) and maybe Electrician.

So, some of the answers in the real asvab are in the asvab study guide? I'm having trouble with the general science. The electrical part is the worse. I"m going to do some heavy studying.

i took mine pretest by USMC i got 28 points and i whose totally wow because i didn't know that I will have to do any tests to gat in it whose more like what do they have to offer.
now i'm almost ready to go again and hopefully i'm not gona mess up.
I'm ok with math but i'm not american so mine english suck.
They say that for 11B you don't have to be a genius but it can't kill me to be one.

i got a 51, my recruiter said thats good but then he said it was out of 100, so in my opinion 51 out of 100 isnt that good

no problem hun! keep up all the good work! i have major respect for the army! =) and push yourself more mentally after all mind over matter..they are gonna break u down physically but build u up mentally...when do u go to boot? just keep in touch..and remember you ARE army strong!

hey ! i just wanted to say keep up the work...push yourself to the max and then when you get to that point push a tad bit harder. i know its not gonna be as hard as the marines (what im in) but you have just as much capability as someone who is 17 going. study hard and lemme know what your ship date is!

If I understood you right, yes each part of the test is a different score. Your final score is added together on the AFQT from each subject, PC, NO, CS, AS, MK, MC, EI. Just make sure you study hard before your test and don't forget you can fall the ASVAB. I hope I anwsered your question..take care

Yes true, all those subjects are on the ASVAB. The ASVAB has a total of 8 subtest. If didn't know what they meant here they are again. General Science, Arithmethic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Mathemmatics Knowledge, Electronics Information, Auto & Shop Information, Mechanical Comprehension.

i failed mine to but with the army. i did some more research though and swiching branches so im doing the marines aswell. my friend has his recruiter so im going to talk to him and take a practice test and see my afqt now and pick up the studying im also wanna go in as an officer because of my college cridits do not take the test again unless you are sure yur going to do good take your time and shoot high good luck bro

whats up bro ? what kind of job MOS are you looking to do in the army because im joining to and im took bmy asvab but did bad on it so im just taking my time and working on my speed and getting the questions right but since im also in college i can be an officer which i didnt know to much about and its a better career for when im gonna be in for a few years since you have the book tht i kinda have you should know about what surtain score to have to get the job you want

i'm taking mine next week but i'm weak on comprehension and words. let's me ask you this on an auto parts, science, and other test are they counts in AFQT score or just those two main topics?

the main topics for the asvab are the fou main subtests that are arithmatic reason, math knowledge, word knowledge and paragraph comp. those are the main test the build your AFQT the other test determine what jobs you are best suited for but if your just worrying about the enlistment score (AFQT) then just focus mainly on those four tht i just said i told my recruiter that i wanna take mine oct 14th cuz i wanna score a 50 or higher on my asvab

ya dude am a second year senior in high and about to graduate in october ,and am joining the army its never been so hard,even after passing the asvab with a 36 I cant ship out till 2010 cause the army is to over crowded.

I take my ASVAB in about an hour and a half..I'll tell you how it goes. I took the practice ASVAB the first time and got a 27...Studied the ASVAB for dummies and got a 40 so hopefully I do well on the real one today.

I got a 35...I guess it's alright, considering that's the National Average. My GT score was 92, MM was 97, and EL was 95. I still have like 30 jobs to chose from too. I'm thinking of Automotive mechanic,Hygienic Specialist (Water Purification) and maybe Electrician.
