Wouldn't it be great if someone who could lip read could tell us what Greer and Polly are saying to Judy. The view of their mouths is unimpeded so it should be possible.

@SwingBandHeaven I can only decipher Polly's first two words: "A special." Polly was married to one of Judy's new managers, Freddie Fields. Also, Valley of the Dolls author Jackie Susann was married to the producer of Polly's TV show. And so a lot of inside information about Judy was put into Valley, the Neely character being Judy.

Judy recieved the Cecil B Demille award the following year.
