  • don't understand why they don't work together anymore? pete and cl are the perfect formula/combination!

  • when pete and CL get together, its magic!!!

  • hot shit..true hiphop..

  • All we got is each other... true!

  • 0:09 Haha I love how CL says "bring the bass in" almost like he's in the middle of having sex or something!

  • Hope this doesn't provoke any hating, but if CL were gay I'd so want to marry him :D Such a beautiful song about real romantic love!

  • i fall in love to this song.

  • Yes!

  • LOVE!!!!

  • C'est un art de frapper ma sensibilité musicale de cette façon.

  • when the bass kicks in, aaah

  • got so many words to say about this song but i''ll only say a few : real hip-hop.

  • If you dislike this, than you dislike hip hop

  • I played this for my girl ;]

  • love this song, the bass is crazy! love it

  • its amazin wht youtube does i would have never heard this thks 4 da uploader

  • show them how its done man .. love the beat ... nice lyrics too .. complete song

  • Pure classic

  • This is how men should rap about women. Not "back that ass up on me bitch" shit that gets played on the radio, sick of that shit...

    Pete Rock baby...

  • @UlehFullySickBro You couldn't have said it better. Pete and CL understand that you don't have to be a pig toward women in order to get dirty with your desires; on the contrary, their approach is a trillion times sexier for 98% of both women and men. Today's bitch-and-ho rappers could learn a few things from these homies...

  • @KarlBonner1982 Exactly. I have to agree with women when they say that chivalry, for the better part is dead. When you have kids looking up to these rappers who are basically chauvinistic assholes, they cant help but feel that they should do the same. Ugh... All these new "rappers" need to go lie in a ditch somewhere, and NEVER come out.

  • @UlehFullySickBro hear ye bro

  • dope ass baseline

  • seriously whoever disliked this are either racist or fuckin deaf

  • born in 76 and pete rock bumps me all day

  • Love this! It was dedicated to me...

  • not born yet n i bump pete rock all day

Tight song, CL is a beast on the mic!

  • Great song

  • Of course we all know the riffs are all from Natural Four's -: 'Try Love Again' tune but I got to give dues to this dude for seizing on a Natural Fours tune in the first place. Respect.

  • Is there such a thing as too smooth! This track just sends u!!

  • CL: "Any deal she makes, my business grows."

    Pete: "Uh huh..."

That's why, at the end of the day, I always come back to this duo...they're always flowing together and makin' perfect music...

  • glad to see a woman being addressed as the queens we are. now thats real hip-hop

  • this album was sooooooo hard

  • Fuck the 5people who dont like this

  • how anyone can dislike this i dont know

  • 4:20

  • @ekim786 Beat me to it! lol perfect 420 track too

  • I just listen in awe...

  • Im just lost my mind. OMD This is the kinda love I want. *sighs romantically* Love music doesnt always have to be perceived as soppy. It can be genius ..like this song.

  • God made you for me/and God only knows what you do for me

  • Gotta love Pete Rock!!

  • World war is magnetic that attracts loot She look Wall Street briefcase, pen strife suit The hair rub in a bun, spectacles on her nose Any deal she make, my business grows They say a woman's never satisfied Till she have me to fill it to her heart's content It's my blessing, God gave you to me And words can't describe, what you do for me Your C.L. is, love me or love me not But no-one can match this chemistry we got Why they all fall, you C.L.'s wive Cause all we got is eachother a bond for life
  • This sample is from the 70's group called The Natural Four entitled "Try Love Again".

  • what album this from

  • Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth.... One of the best MC / DJ combos ever! Need to go dig this album out of my collection now XD

  • @dakingofdano

    Same dude, agreed...

  • im pretty young and i hate all the songs that they bump now a days. this is real fucking hip hop.

  • how is there not a music video to this song??!!

  • torrent killed the videos ;-)

  • I danced this at my wedding, Its me and the hubbys theme song...so glad I found it

  • This is grown folks Hip-Hop...no screeching "Yaaaaya" like a retard..guess you cant help some people lol

  • u shouldnt say its grown folk hip hop... i mean im 18 lol....

but wut u should call it is intelligent hip hop... its not the ignorant bullshit they play on the radio airwaves.

  • Fair enough...I forgot there are actually some younger heads who appreciate true Hip-Hop.

  • @Alkemy007 I'm 16 and my favourite artists is Pete rock and CL smooth. They done some sweet music together.

  • come on man u know this aint wack where is your ear 4 good music. You should get a million thumbs down 4 that comment.

  • Wish this was what people would think of when they heard the words "hip hop".

  • @Cascadeh Instead of Drake -__- and half of the lost children we see on TV.

  • @Cascadeh At Thursday, I hated hip hop. Then my friend showed me the more chill version of hip hop, like this song, and im loving it.

  • @jettom17 EXACT same thing happened to me, but it was over a period of years, not just yesterday. It's just tragic how the better side of hip-hop's been so suppressed by all the bling-and-bitch garbage...

  • duz pete use the same kicks and snare and hi hats ? cuz every beat i listen to has the same kicks etc. but different sample .. anyway it still sounds dope and pete is one of a kind ..

  • Just like 9th Wonder...

  • man i know one day ima be droppin beats like these ... im working on this underground hot beat right now..shit sounds nice ...ill let u know when i upload it on my myspace so u can let me know if ya feel it ..

  • what he sample on this track??

  • wtf r people sayin hip hop is dead? and ur all namin mainstream artists who r shit. for example, g unit, eminem, 50 cent, dr dre, kanye west, biggie r all shit. so stop namin them

  • eminem...lol you must have never heard the marshall mathers lp....woah biggie, lol dude wtf...are you on drugs?

  • fuck eminem, i just like biggie cause who the fuck dont

  • yea man eminem to me is a legend. he doesn't stick to main stream either he does his own thing biggie is a legend too

    he made bad boy

gunit though they are useless but eminem didn't kill hip hop nor did biggie

it's the uselessness we got goin ontoday like lil wayne and stuff like that

    thats killin it

  • Goin straight to faves..

  • Im glad theres someone that I can relate to in hip hop still

  • wow

  • i love my years of growin up on hiphop

1980 at age 8 - SUGAR HILL first album "RAPPERS DELIGHT"

1984 at age 12 - THE PEAK OF THE BREAKIN ERA & RUN-DMC arrived

    1988 at age 17 - RAKIM, KOOL G.RAP, KANE, & KRS-1 was out

    1993 at age 21 - WUTANG arrived

1995 at age 24 - EAST & WEST COAST RAP was at its peak, & the NEWYORK club seen was HOT

    2003 at age 31 - G-UNIT & EMENEM was on FIRE

but now in 2009 at age 37, HIPHOP IS DEAD, but im fortunate to be young in its best years :)

  • dude, lil wanker is crap :D hes a fucking junkie and kanye west is pop

  • i feel u, but its still not the hiphop of the 1990's. from WUTANG CLAN, AZ, NAUGHTY BY NATURE, DAS EFX, ONYX, KOOL G.RAP, EASY E, RAKIM, DA YOUNGSTAS, MC LYTE, M.O.P., GRAVE DIGGAS, PETE ROCK & CL SMOOTH, ICE CUBE, MOBBDEEP, SMITH N WESSON, BUCK SHOT, DR DRE, GANGSTARR, THE LOX, CYPRESS HILLS, CAPONE n NOREAGA, FATJOE, BIG-PUN, DMX, REDMAN, EPMD, NICE N SMOOTH, ILLEGAL, SNOOP DOGG, NWA, TUPAC, BIGGIE & many more. the 1990's was a great decade for hiphop, but in 2009, it just cant compare.

  • So what you really mean is the hip hop music today by half of these guys you mentioned(cause some ARE still around makin music) is not as good. Okay, but im sick of people saying hip hop is dead. Its like hip hop fans made up their minds and declared it Dead no matter what. And btw Sliuhinas, pop artist Kanye drops some pretty clever hip hop lyrics on his Graduation album.

  • yea open your eyes

kanye west dropped 3 classics in a row

and nas's hiphop is dead was great

theres good muisic out there u just have to look closer now

  • Thank you jrapp.

  • it's true. But i would say he dropped 2 classics, i didn't feel the last one that much. + the new shit he comes with now is sellout imo

  • which 3 classics do you remember? The only 1 i can think of is "through the wire"....thats the only 1 i liked really.

  • Very accurate god! yeah sun, i understand how you feel. i'm 37 also and i get the jeers from older people like why am i listening to hip hop. i get looks from the younger people like i'm old and the shit i listen to is wack. Funny right!

  • lol, mean & you came up in the same era, so i know u had to feel me homey, lol : )

  • You crazy, your the dopest of the dopest, Let those dumb downed minds act like fools, you be playing real music, Respect & peace

  • are you serious? how can they call this whack? I thought people your age would chill with you to this song.

  • no offense to 9th hes one of my favorite producers but he modeled his whole career off this track lol.

  • please stop discussing who's the best producer.

just sit back and listen to the music!

  • This track is off the chain, word up son. Pete Rock is the 2nd best producer of all time next to Premo, and CL is a great lyricist.

  • nahhhhh

Preemo just has his boom bap shit with scratches for the hook. Its dope but Pete Rock is more refined . Pete can do that style as well. Check the hook on this track. It is off tap and fits perfect. Much harder to do.

  • yo wheres this song sampled from?

  • Turn this shit up everywhere in the world!!!!!!!If you buy one album.SS2 ain't bad.I bumped this jam for about a month straight.Pete and CL at their best.

  • pete rock and dj premier are the reasons why i listen hip hop

  • Exactly son but don't forget Madlib kid!

  • what about dilla, 9th, Madlib or Hi-tek oO

  • PEte rock makes them space tunes

  • All hail Pete Rock. He can nice up any tune. Love Him.

  • there is no1 else that does it like pete rock

from the beats to the way he laces beats.

B4 he goes there needs to be someone to do the same thing he does

  • many try...but pete rock cant be matched

  • nice beat

  • I Love It

  • yeah man good lookin out i've been wanting this track since i first heard it that was about 5 years ago

  • what a beat man!!

  • i LOVE this so much. it reminds me of getting off the train and entering the city...at night. w no sound but this incredible track.

  • REAL HOT SHOUT YUH MOUTH
