I remember the first time I saw this video by MTV Latino, it was 93.... I was completely blown away, haven't heard guitar playing like that, even to this day this is more than a perfect guitar solo. The backing vocals live have to be heard to be believed.

God, people should chill out with the "gayness" thing. He's just great performer (reminds me of DLR, just way better voice). Extreme draw lot of influence from the glam/hair metal tradition of the 80s. This was just the way hardrock bands performed at the time. And if you don't like what you're seeing, get the funk out ;)

This isn't funk, but neither is anything by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their music has tints of funk in it, but real funk is James Brown, the Commodores, James Brown, Tower of Power, Sly & the Family Stone. I like the Red Hot Chili Peppers a lot, they're just not really funk.

No... the music is very funk, just because it has distorted guitars and a heavier approach to it doesn't make it any less. Extreme where one of the very few bands that dared to mix Metal with Funk, worked a treat :) and the fact that Nuno Bettencourt is an amazing guitarist, it's perfect.
