Can you please help me out? Your videos are awesome but I'm having a problem with loading the ramp start mission. When it gives you the choice between ramp, taxi, and take off I cannot select ramp for some reason. Taxi and take off work fine. It is quite frustrating and if you could help out it would be much appreciated.
@growchron Thanks! Well make sure that the time is at about 20 to 30 minutes before the mission starts, other wise it will not let you select the ramp start because they game things that you will take at least 20 min to start the jet properly.
Let me know if you can load the ramp start in the training part also, and we will go from there.
@growchron In the Mission Schedule, click on the Flight Plan on the bottom and change the time by clicking on the arrows to at least 10:01, so you will have time enough to select the Ramp Start option.
@growchron If you are in campaign mode, you have to go to fly mission part with like 20+ minutes before take off time, since the ramp start takes that long. If you go later than that, ramp start is not an option, only taxi or takeoff.

I have a huuuuge problem! Every time i start falcon 4.0 the screen is black but i can i can hear the music and noises from the intro video but the screen is just black! is this because i'm running vista on my computer. I have no additional addons other then falcon 4.0. Pls HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes it is the SAITEK X52, and the game is not that bad on memory, video usage and hard drive. The game was created a long time ago so today's computers play it just find.
Every aircraft have a different start sequence, some of the switches are the same but they could have more steps or less steps to start an F18 C.
In this simulator the MFD's and HUD are the same, so to fire a missile yes they work the same, I will say my tutorials will work ok for other aircraft in this simulator but not in real life.
if you're looking for graphics, this is not for you. it is, however, the most realistic f16 sim I've ever seen in my life - also, check out the awards this sim won... quite a few, to say the least.
The graphics of the original game falcon 4.0 were good at the time, but now the new updtes and modds make the game much better looking like Free falcon 5.3. And yes it is the best F16 simulator out there right now.
Are you using an external power source such as a -60 or -86 generator in the sim? Because a lot of the systems you were using prior to engine start such as the external lights and fuel quantity select switch only work with ac power, which would require either an external source or the engine. Also you shouldn't advance your throttle up to 50% prior to advancing over the horn on start. You would for sure have a hot start. Cool vid though. Check out my vids of F-16's
You forgot to check the fuel quantity before the engine start... can't remember where that check came in... i.e. after checking that the fuel selector is set to normal or after selecting the air source... I wanted to see where the fuel quantity indicator is as I've been unable to find it. I think I know which one it is, but I'm not 100% sure.
Hey your using the Joystick i want but that joystick does not have any Force Feedback..how do you like it?? the only thing thats holding me back from buying that is it does not have any force feedback and my computer is not that high tech its just a Windows XP any advise??
I got the SAITEK X52.This joystick came with the game 3 years ago F16 Falcon AF, so... I like it but yes It does not have force feedback, but it works great for me!
What I find with force feedback hardware is that while it feels good and simulative, at the same time it may mess your performance up more than it would in real life. Most of my experience with racing wheels though.
all your vids are well done m8.....have a question and thought id ask ya...i have Flacon AF and the distance and bearing to bullseye is way off...is there a way to change this correctly using your DED or another way....i dont think theres any patches to fix this "bug" it hink....any suggestions!

you can choose taxi or takeoff. You don't need to do this all the time. But it's more fun, and generally for greater realism, if yo uplay online they'd usually prefer to do ramp start like this.
I think sometimes it's more fun to learn how to do it.
No you can choose taxi or takeoff...but once you get use to powering up the f16 you can do all that under a minute..you just have to wait for the pesky nav to allign...but there is a fast forward key....at least for AF
I wanted to buy the cokpit from stopworks but before that I want an advice from you, I have the original Falcon 4 allied force CD installed and the 1.013 update installed from dead-pursuit website my question is should I have to install the sp4.2 and BMS2 for the cockpit from stopworks to work or this add-on can work with the original cd and the 1.013 patch alone
Nice video even though I don't fly RV. You only have a couple of names wrong (very minor I know). What you refer to as the left and right aux consoles are actually the left and right eyebrow panels. The left and right aux consoles are above the left and right consoles, the one with the parking brake, stores config (CAT I/III) etc switches is the left one, the right one is the one where the caution panel is. Also INS stands for Inertial Navigation System, not internal.

its a block 52/50 and the avionics they use on the 52/50 is far from what falcon provided as there avionics array, the avionics are from early 1990's out of the first production viper to be sold to other countries, and to falcon pilots saying they can transfer there skill to real life situation, vipers don't work the way they do in falcon and ramp starts don't take more than 4 min's in real life in a modern viper, its realistic alright for 1994 =)
Very good reply, actually your the first falcon player to state that its a game and not real life avionics training, I think your ramp start is one of the best=) I am just still trying to figure out why all falcon players think that falcon is accurate, If your training to learn push button avionics and managing electronic controls its great but it does not teach anything about aviation or the art of being a pilot, The only reason I don't play anymore is because of the flight engine
64th, you come off as kinda a know-it-all jerk with apparently a lot to say, and yes, being a pilot I'm aware of the "art of aviation". Just let people play a fun game without teasing them when they don't what something like Dihedral is.
Don't go in the order it tells you to in the manual. Also, multi-task. While the JFS is spinning up, turn on your hard points, your MFDs, get your INS aligning, etc... Also if you want to get off the ground quick, you can align your INS in the air... From startup you can be in the air in less than 1:30
The order in the manual is actually very good, some minor mistakes only. As for turning on the electrical equipment, maybe not a big deal in Falcon, but IRL they won't run with the engine off, and having them on while the power comes online can damage them. You can be in the air in less than 2 mins but you don't have to do stuff like that to do that.
According to a video released by Lockheed (or maybe it was General Dynamics), the F-16C can be up and running in less than a minute... so It shouldn't take that long to start anyway. The procedure outlined in the manual takes like 5 minutes to complete...
As I said, yes you can start in less than 2 minutes but you don't have to do stuff like that (turning everything on beforehand). This 'fast' start is meant for wartime conditions where for example enemy bombers are near your airbase, and they ommit certain items in the checklist to get in the air ASAP. It doesn't mean this is a normal way of starting, it's used in emergencies.During normal ramp starts pilots might be in the pit an hour before engine start, and start the engine 30 mins before TO.

This 'fast' start is meant for wartime conditions where for example enemy bombers are near your airbase, and they ommit certain items in the checklist to get in the air ASAP. It doesn't mean this is a normal way of starting, it's used in emergencies.During normal ramp starts pilots might be in the pit an hour before engine start, and start the engine 30 mins before TO.

iv been stuck at the point of going to half throttle (albeit on the keyboard)
i didnt know you had to click something on the joystick to transfer to main engine
im off to go try start my jet now
and as the other guy said
my graphics are not as good as that so im going to invest at stopworks etc

Well! I have The F-16 Falcon AF 4.0, but I have the Red Viper add-on, and the cockpit is from stopworks cockpits.
