Globalization destroyed the job market, companies cannot compete unless they outsource most of their labor because of all our laws and regulations. There is virtually an infinite pool of labor in China and India alone, and automation from computers/technology takes over what that can't handle. Our politicians left this problem go for too long to appease their rich friends, now its too late to stop barring making the rich mad or war (I'm probably going with the latter).

They don't count you as jobless if you have been unemployed for a year or more or if you are no longer eligible for unemployment benefits. They even count you employed if you find a part time job working 4 hours a week for minimum wage, these numbers don't reflect anything other than to give the masses the impression that things are getting better.

The unemployment rate fell because people aren't able to collect unemployment beneifits and if they have jobs, it's jobs with no benefits, part-time, and low pay.

@evanWith7 I can't get extended benefits in Jersey & I qualify because I saw my account history online. The problem is you must call the Unemployment office to get the extension. The line is always busy, they won't let you hold and they refer you to apply online but you can't because you must call them first. I wrote two letters...no answer. It's like a vicious cycle and I never been out of work this long in my life. I must now dip into my savings.
