I think it's really disappointing when they ruin research and interest in chimps, with rise of the planet of the apes advertisements, not saying that this is implying that, just that some rise of the planet of the apes adverts have used actual research from documentaries; which takes away the novelty of learning. I'm sure it won't kill anyone though, just saying. Still cool video, love the way the chimp sways from side to side, interesting thing.
@DUBSAC And it's people like you who thought that way that tended to shoot & kill all manner animals out of fear or for sport & game.
They are not monsters you ignorant moron. They have more strength than any human & that naturally scares you, but that doesn't make them monsters, you're probably the sort of idiot that thinks a tarantula is an evil creature because it'll bite you, despite the fact they only bite when scared or cornered & won't willingly attack anything much bigger than them.
UM, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um...this stupid broad ruins the video with her inability to talk like a real human being...um, um, um, um, um um, um..........
Are you kidding? These monkeys have everything handed to them. I wish I had it that easy. They're probably healthier than most people. You realize that?
It's no recent discovery, it is science gone awry yet again. They have fooled with the DNA of normal sized chimps to make supersized monsters. Never had they ever discovered through all their travels in the past. They had all the time in the world and went, practically everywhere. But, suddenly, now they just discovered giant chimps? I say bullshit. They messed with chimp DNA and made Frankenchimps.
Chimps are scary they will kill you cause they go crazy id rather be trapped with a gorilla and create a bond so if i get attacked by a chimp the gorilla will kick ass plus gorillas relate more to humans than a damn chimp
Right, because it is totally impossible to check for abnormal medical conditions so they just assumed he was a different species. Stupid scientists, when will they learn.
@mdmjwarner unless you were in direct contact with this chimpanzee you aren't qualified to assume they were in error. additionally if you listen to the dailogue you will see that they are still testing the DNA and making observations. if it is it's own subspecies or species then the implications could be interesting but they haven't been able to verify it yet in this video.
So wouldn't this totally explain so many cases of people seeing "Bigfoot"? If we didn't know about the giant chimpanzee all this time, that means there could be many other species out there. Sasquatch may be just a big sensitive, reclusive breed of monkey that hasn't been discovered yet!
Kermit died his first day of a heart attack at a sanctuary for animals, Primarily Primates, all of the chimps from this research that are left are at Chimp Haven.
I'm going to assume that Dr. Boysen is a primatologist working on behavior studies and not medical research and give her the benefit of the doubt here. Unless Kermit was taken from the wild in the last decade (by killing his mother) he is NOT a Bili/Bondo ape. DNA evidence on them so far has indicated that this is not a new species, just an isolated gene pool. Kermit shows signs of being hand raised and as with all captive great apes is NOT happy. Where did he come from and where did he die?
notice how its constantly rocking back and forth..these animals are not happy in this environment or comfortable, they may live a sustainable life but its not a quality one
this is mean, how is this possibly ethical ...that small room when these animals have bee accustomed their entire lives to large amount of space in the wild....m
@iiNDiTC Don't be so ignorant. If humans were kept captive, they might revolt this due to their massive dependency of technology and entertainment, but animals don't need that stuff to be happy. They don't truly require wide open space like some people might think. As long as they get all their necessities that a wild animal might need, they'll consider this their new home. Honestly, if you open the cage, most of them won't leave the zoo. They've become accustomed to their small luxurious room.
@dadiddlydooda A relatively small troop of chimps will require around 10 square miles of land. These are highly active, mobile animals. I can't assess the happiness of these animals since I don't understand their living arrangement, but if they're enriched, active, and have others to socialize with, then that certainly helps.
@iiNDiTC dude you have no idea how bad shit is in congo these giant chimps being treated badly is (very very sadly) the least of the worries in Congo.
@iiNDiTC If you look at the back there is a large outdoor area through the back door. Sure it isn't the wild, but if you protest this you must protest every animal being in every zoo.
i wonder if any of you stopped to think about the fact that this place may not have the money or open space to put move this chimp to. Open space is not infinite on our planet..
@IrenaScott there's this dr. penny with a koko gorilla. famous gorilla, she taught her gorilla to do american sign language. it was what they call a nerdy project in the 70's. she was i think more or less like you with the apes. she just borrowed a gorilla from a zoo, she fell in love with her gorilla, making her more human... and now... the have a gorilla place in Maui!
I once saw a documentary showing this "half chimp/ half man." Some think it was a successful hybrid! He even walked upright and just looked like no other chimp.
What's with this cute business - these animals do not belong behind bars...they're wild animals that should be allowed to live out a normal life somewhere out in the wild...they are not cute...do you want to get into the cage with them??? Check out some of the other chimp videos on youtube to give an indication of what these creatures are capable of!
Animals which live in zoos are found to live much longer than animals in the wild, Chimps are also endangered, and zoos help to educate people on why they should be saved and animals in zoos are generally treated wonderfully (I would know I work in one.)
actually this is Bush's cousin, Spanky. Bush lets him fill in as President when he vacations at his ranch in Crawford. He and Spanky are also Cheney's catamites
@IrenaScott they could let them roam Africa like they did with a lot of the gorilla population. some guy built a huge barrier around a place where gorillas like to be so that they wouldn't feel like they were being held captive
did u ever hear about the gorilla/men bones found in africa? it was a sad breeding of a human with a gorilla or something like that, the remains however were confiscated by religious officials
