  • SHIT, That's what happens when Progressive Rock/Metal Meets Swedish Death Melodic Metal. AMAZING LABRIE, AMAZING Wildoer.

  • Dream Theater is better though!

  • @dwateur Dream Theater is better cause The VOCALIST is James ;)

  • James LaBrie ROCKS! Dream theater and James RULE!!!!

  • Drumworks at 2:20 = 10 seconds of brilliance.

  • I just noticed, james labrie sounds like Dave Mustaine sometimes...killer!

  • I used to like so much more of him...but after Awake he just forgot how he used to sing...only on Scenes from a Memory he got better...and I agree this lyrics sucks!

  • @MrZRecords He hasn't forgotten to sing, he just knows how to sing in many different ways; and didn't want to do the same singing he's done in different works before this one.

  • Oh my this really reminds me of In Flames, this whole song could be written buy them, and even produced and mixed, tihih :) Although its awsome!

  • The lyrics suck.

  • @devouringone3 Still better than most of the garbage played on the radio now, lyrically.

  • its my favorite song of this man, with especial dedication for IDHC.

    good bye forever my love

  • Hell yea,my song to the world!

  • This song is so damn awesome!

  • who does the growls?

  • @blankplanet Peter Wildoer the drummer does the growls

  • elements was a great album on its own compared to this one it's genius

  • F..K!!! this is catchy...in a very good and refreshing way. I have a feeling DT is gonna be super inspired to write some sick, outta control stuff. I can't wait.

  • Intro is so badass

  • wish he better did album with Mike from Opeth, of horse LaBrie has good vocals but I like better Mikes clean vocals and his growls

  • @Killensuen

He has worked with Michael Akerfeldt from Opeth. It's called "Human Equation" by an artist called Ayreon. It's a phenomenol album featuring vocals from Michael Akerfeldt, James Labrie, Devin Townsend(Strapping Young Lad/DTP), Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion), Irene Jensen (ex-Karma), and Mike Baker (Shadow Gallery) and many more.

  • @AZN264 The band is called Ayreon, but the artist/songwriter (and also one of the singers) is Arjen Lucassen. ;-) The album "the human equation" is a masterpiece, I agree. The songwriting is brilliant and it has a real story to tell. It's one of my favorite albums.

  • @KroxiGore07 my bad. Probably my top listened to album. Too bad Arjen Lucassen is not writing stuff for Ayreon anymore. I'm not as big of a fan of his other side projects.

  • i have to buy this album!!!

  • The drumming in this has elements of Portnoy in it - for example 2:21 - 2:28. It's great.

I'd never heard this drummer until this album, I think he's a really solid, innovative drummer.

  • @greggles12345 That's a pretty good observation. accents on off-beats, etc. good ear man!

  • @gtrpimp76 This sounds like one of Portnoy's Stack cymbal accents in 5. A bit like the odd accents in Dance of Eternity @ around 4:20 in watch?v=-dSztjpJNNk. I think Portnoy in turn was influenced by the accents in 5 and 7 from Meshuggah. Any of these gated white noise style accents will sound like portnoy. Terry Bozzio was the real originator of these, however. Bozzio tends to have a very staccato accented white noise style.

  • @greggles12345 He's the drummer from Darkane, a wicked prog/death metal band. He also played with Soilwork.

  • @GuitarFulvio1 hey! it is " you don't have a clue, do you?

  • fucking awesome song!

  • What the fuck is up with all that cookie monster shit in the back ground? Its not singing!

  • @GuitarFulvio1: You know, I'm so damn excited about this album that I'm gonna' tell you. Not beacuse I'm a nice person but because I'm high on this release.

...a clue. Do you? Nothing you say, nothing you do matters to me.

  • i listen the whole album and I say WOW

  • I like his solo stuff more than anything he's done in DT lately. Not that the songs are better but the fact he gets to utilize his voice the way he wants and not how the band tells him.

  • @xnothingman yep, I dislike Dream Theater but this stuff is awesome.

  • James Labrie is probably one of the most talented musicians known to prog. metal and its an album like 'Static Impulse' that truly assures my thoughts.

  • @poyzonunholysoul I'm not totally agree with you ... Labrie is certainly an excellent composer, but ... this is unfortunately not in the progressive metal, it excels in a more direct metal as in this piece.
