I was there...and it's still the most polished performance I've ever seen. Amazing band. You can still buy the Live in London CD on Amazon..and there was a video released in the States I think.
Does anyone out there know if he is still performing? He was hot as a pistol during the 80s, but I haven't heard anything about him for awhile. Information, please!
@oldiesfan52 He's still performing. I heard him 2 years ago, but he's either getting old or he had an off night. He's still a great singer, but he had troubles with the more difficult parts of "spain". Love his record's though and even that night he was still a superior singer to most guys and women out there...
@cherrycakejulie Never said I didin't like him. My entire point was that he's getting old. And I still gave him the benefit of doubt considering that. Everyone has an off day now and then. + I pointed out that even that night he was superior to most singers out there. I really can't see, where I'm viciously attacking him in my comment.
I thought I was the only one "over the top" with love for Al Jarreau. My argument still remains that all the good singers in the world put together will still come second place to Al
. What a gift he is to this world and a blessing to the music industry.
Al has been my favourite singer/musician for three decades and he still gives me the thrills when he sings. The world is blessed to have this talent . Keep the faith Al.
Might be wrong, but I think this was "Live in London 1982", (about). What I do remember is that I bought it in Dublin in 1984, so about that time. I still have it.
All I can say is WOW! This version is even better than the studio version. If I'm not mistaken, that looked liked Nathan East on bass and Ricky Lawson on drums; and the one and only Michael Paulo on sax. What a musical explosion!!!
una voz increible la de este talentoso cantante al jarreau!!!tiene una guitarra en la garganta mi dios!!!lo amo,no me canso de escucharlo, pongo su musica una y mil veces.te amoooooooooo al.anama
Wow, one of my favorite songs of Al Jarreau. the bassist is Nathan East.

Nathan East, bass (m.jackson, madonna, w.houston, fourplay...)
Ricky Lawson, drums (yellowjackets)

This man floats my boat. Johnny Mathis is my very favorite but Al Jarreau comes in a very close second. So glad he decided he needed his music.

Premiere performance! Heard this song years ago. All I could remember was the "badabadabadaba daaaa-badaaaa" guitar riffs towards the end of the song.
Could not get them out of my mind. This is how I will remember AJ forever. Thanks for the post.
