I had a SRT6 for a year... ran 13.06 @ 107mph 100% bone stock on the all season continental tires that came on the car... didn't even take anything out of the car to lighten it in any way... wanted to know what it would run on a 100% street set up. Didn't even change the tire pressure.
I am now looking at maybe picking up a 335i or a Z4 3.0si
I have a crossfire, and I think that is a beautiful car. The BMW cars are good too, but I think that we cannot compare a luxury familiar car with a super luxury sport car. I've been seeing bmw cars before to bought my crossfire, and I decided to have a crossfire 'cause its pretty, faster, and it have too much equipment as bmw cars. Actually, a crossfire it's tecnically a mercedes.
I think its all about the driver, I have a crossfire and have beaten a lot of bmw's as well as g35's, si's ect. Ive obviously lost to cobras and barely lost to a 350Z with full exhaust... Dont underestimate the hidden benz under the hood... I had a guy in a saturn SKY pull next to me and tell me my car was slow.. I wonder if he still felt that way as I pulled away
haha, what an idiot. A Crossfire is an SLK with a cheap ass plascticy body...its totally german engineered (as in built in belgium as described by a little sticker under the hood) and designed by a Britain and slapped with the badge of a sorry ass company...in other words, it would, inf fact, crush every British peice of shit but an Aston...thank you
the body was designed by Ian Callum who designed the modern ASTON MARTIN! the SRT6 version was built by hand at AMG facilities in Affalterbach Germany. Most of them run low 12's with a few bolt-ons... not much to laugh at. the one in the video is a base-model, few run better than low 14's.
The crossfire is a great car, I had a 2004 BMW 330i zhp performance package (look on my channel for a video) but now I have a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire and its a lot better than the BMW. It has a lot of torque and has a great german driving feel. Feels solid and handles like no other car i've driven. It may have an american name but it is mostly a mercedes slk320. Its a great car. I have beat a 2005 BMW 330i in a race. The 335i is a twinturbo so it is faster but the Crossfire is a great car.
I dont see how thats possible! I have best a newer better BMW than that in a stock crossfire. The only way I could see you beating it is if the crossfire is an automatic, but still you couldnt bet it by that much. Go drive one then see what you say about it
Ну probably it was automatic.I want to check it once again, but the problem is i haven't got 328 anymore, now i've got BMW M3 E46 and it is pointless,to race against crossfire cause BMW M3 will destroy it!
The NA Crossfire is a good car with all around good performance. It looks great and is a steal at what you get one for now. Very high quality. Basically an SLK for Chrysler money.
Now the SRT would have eatin his fucking lunch. If we're going to compare cars at least be fair. Do a search for SRT6 and then come back. K?
@lekocaj23 Only if the SRT 6 is not racing;) I have run a 335i coupe with both my crossfires and beat it with both. My coupe is modded so it just ran off with the Bimmers lunch!
It frustrates me so much to hear you guys talk about 0-60 and drag times. how bout you AT LEAST check trap speeds.
Crossfire is slow right off the line, but from a rolling start (around 50mph) it actually beats the 335,350z,s200, TT, rx-8.
Also, come on dude, I don't think anyone can say a crossfire is not good looking, especially compared to a sedan. M3's are cool, but only the doors and trunk are the same as 300's.
it couldnt shake the Si. I already knew how fast the Crossfire was cause i rented one before, but I was suprised (even though there's no honda in this vid) how quick that Si can be. It was some good pulls though. I need to get back to germany from this hot ass desert so i can put all these vids up. I packed them away by mistake, so im pretty short on what i have here with me :(
imagine driving a silver convertible crossfire through a few of switzerland's cities. This car was really nice. Soo nice that when i was crossing back over into germany, there was 2 bad ass swiss bitches at the border and wanted to take me out (on saturday night) and i was rolling back into germany friday evening, they wanted to chill wit me and take me out and have fun. I was like sorry ladies. I had to get back and boy was i pissed!!Crossfire was turning heads and yes it handles very very well
I'm not talking about racing man...of course the 335 would beat the crossfire...but like I said, if I were driving next to you in the drop top, no one would notice your ass driving by
I used to have a 330 Ci...bimmers are sweet rides. Good looking car too, but honestly, if our cars were parked next to each other nobody is going to be looking at your ride, that's all I'm saying. Gotta give credit where it's due...
Why you hating so much on Crossfires anyways? It's like a personal vendetta...did someone run over a member of your family with one or something?
Um, it's basically a mercedes. Try doing research before you make an ass of yourself. Just trade your ugly 335i in and stop whining. lol PS: At least I like your Ron Paul and Israel vids. :)
More like mercedes made, at a chrysler price great car. It may not be the fastest from a stop, but its more comfortable than many other cars, handles great, and drives like what it is, a Benz!
Yeah, because Chrysler is widely known for their highly desirable cars...I doubt many BMW owners regret getting a 335i over a car that will be virtually worthless in 5 years...
lol...it is american...its fuckin chrysler....and its funny how u compare a car u could get as low as 10k to cars that cost 60k plus....it doesnt sell cuz it doesnt sell making them rarely seen which makes them even more awesome
I agree with this other than the e46 m3, the e46 330i zhp performance package, the new m3, and the 6 series, and the 1 series coupe. The base 3, 5, 7, x3 and x5 look bad. But I do like the z4 and x6
Out of the Showroom floor the Crossfire is one of the BEST handling cars out there. Almost pulls 1g factory stock! But the engine needs more power. SRT-6 helped but you couldn't get it with a 6spd, only auto. That's why there over looked.
I agree about them being over looked. But they arent the best handlers...they feel numb, my dad owns one and im comparing it to my Mr2 Spyder, BUT in their defense their grip is absolutly amazing. As for power, you have 215hp and 230lb/ft of torque to a 3000lb car (but it only have a 3.2l engine!), which is good enough to most cars on the road but the heaver 350Z, stang gt, and S2000 beat it to 60. buuut...the crossfire is quite comfy and luxurious.
Car and Driver Magazine did like 1.01G 0n the skid pad with an SRT-6. They also said the new Vettes didn't feel "nimble" compared to a same priced Porsche, and they liked the Porsche better...... But the Vette out handles the Porsche in the same article? Some cars feel better then others, but the facts are in the numbers.
The reason it feels numb is its a luxury sports car, not flat out sports car, may not have as much steering feel, but it will still outhandle most cars, I have one and i can go around turns at speeds that scare me but the car has no trouble
I agree with you guys...people hate on crossfires because they clame they are slow and stuff...buts its only a 3.2l engine...common. It has a 0-60 around the rx-8s and some sources say lower. My dad got one and its no racecar but it feels strong and works very very well on the highway...and has a killer sound system. Also the spoiler doesn't fail to impress.
why does everyone hate these cars. I just got one and love it. Handles great, feels plenty quick with all the torque and looks fairly exotic with the big wheels and nice lines. Plus I dont see many people being able to blow my doors off, and if they do, I saved enough off the price tag that I can afford to keep a box of woodscrews with me.
Crossfires are (were) underrated because they were overpriced. Now that you can get them for 20k or less, they are in a different niche of cars. People read reviews, watch top gear and make their judgements from them, but never drive them. I'm on my 2nd one, and for the money, I could not have gotten anything better, or even close to it. Who cares what everyone says anyway.... their loss
How totally unfair... a brand-new, state-of-the-art BMW against a 15 year old Mercedes. How sad that the one of the coolest cars to come out of America is a used one.
USA is 20 years behind in the car industry. Oh, wait... pushrod motors and leaf springs; make that 40 years behind! How can you put out something like that as an engineer and look at yourself in the mirror?!?! And I thought Porsche 911 designers were lazy...
Pushrod motors and leafsprings..40 years behind the times? LOL! And I assume by 'leafsprings' like so may other morons you're referring to the Corvette Again? The Vette has "TRANSVERSE' leafsprings quite a bit diff. than reg. old school leafsprings! Do your homework! Pushrods and leaf springs..LOL...good enough to get the old Vette ZO6 and the new C6 ZO6 into 'Supercar' territory (i.e., world standard: anything under 8 min. Nordschlief Circuit/Nurburgring)! How may BWM's in that leaque?
Search youtube for "stunteric" and watch a 40y.o. Cuda torch an 01 class prepped Acura and an 08 Exige S240 Lotus. At the SAME TIME, on a ROAD COURSE! LOL
Most of you are terribly mistaken. The SRT-6 Crossfire is all hand-built, supercharged Mercedes AMG except for the body. The only thing Chrysler about the Crossfire is the name and design of the body. The SRT-6 will do 0-60 under 5 seconds and the 1/4 mile in high 12s or low 13s depending on conditions. You would all know this if you were authentic automotive enthusiasts. I will put my SRT-6 up against just about anything except for a very small selection of vehicles.
Yeah, that's an informed statement. The regular Crossfire is documented at 6.4 seconds 0-60. The SRT-6 Crossfire is documented at 4.7 seconds 0-60. Neither of thos times is slow when compared to 95% of the other vehicles on the road.
Slow when compared to what? Just because other normal cars can beat it dosent mean they come anywhere near the crossfire in anything else, the acceleration dosent even feel as fast, but in the crossfire you can feel it. Drive one

They had to do improvements on the rear because it lost all grip in the rear in speeds not even close to 150mph.
Can't remember what if it was a spoiler but the design does provide horrible aerodynamics,
Crossfire isn't the only one though, all cars with simular design has the same problem.
Aerodynamics and grip can go hand in hand. Corvettes rear design and some ferraris makes it grip in the rear, drag in the right place.
I kind of liked the crossfire though but not good enough.

I find the crossfire uncomfortable, and not very great interior.

I would like to know where you find these documented speeds of certain cars?

Slow when compared to what? Just because other normal cars can beat it dosent mean they come anywhere near the crossfire in anything else, the acceleration dosent even feel as fast, but in the crossfire you can feel it. Drive one
