It's actually because the CERO (the Japanese ESRB) has tightened its guidelines since the game was released over 10 years ago, and now forbids the portrayal of real-life historical figures in video games. Remember how all SMT games on the PS2 started with that "This story is a work of fiction" disclaimer? That's why. Even the Jap version of Innocent Sin PSP was altered. If Atlus hadn't made that SLIGHT censorship, this game would have never seen the light of day in any country.

I had my expectations on the new soundtrack low, but this really blew me away. I wish they gave the Persona 1 PSP soundtrack this same treatment. What we didn't need was a J-pop makeover to it, but remixing and new arragements. I absolutely love this new arranged theme. The guitar solo is awesome. Plus I have new headphones I just bought on and it sounds sexy!

@ironwolfosiris I don't get why people attack the Persona PSP soundtrack so heavily. I liked it, may not have beaten the game to hear it all, but I do really enjoy the music. This is amazing as well, and P2IS is looking fucking amazing, But why bag on P1's remake so much. Did it really make you hate the game more? Also I'm one of those pople who never played Revelations: Persona, so i can't really say the soundtrack change is bad without knowing.

Well, that's the thing. The ones who have played the original (mostly anyhow) agree that the new version just didn't work for it. Aside from a few tracks I found pretty good (some of the dungeon BGM was redone and ended up sounding rather decent IMO) I couldn't stand the OST at all. The battle theme music, both normal and boss ended up driving me near crazy, so much that I decided to turn on something else. For the fights I ended up using the old PSX P1 OST or music by Skinny Puppy. =P

@ironwolfosiris I can see that when you put it that way. Though I'd say the biggest reason I like the new J-Pop music is probably due to how bored I got with game music. RPGs tend to use the same style of music for every situation. Looking at you Final Fantasy. I guess it was the different style that got me into it. Huh now that I think about that reason is really selfish of me.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they took that version of Hitler and put him into a PSP remake of Eternal Punishment; between him, Baofu, and Katsuya, there would be enough cool shades to blot out the sun.
