  • OMG love it..

  • Not bad... still not teddy

  • @dwh113 - Nope, not Teddy... but I think he'd give the thums up on it.

  • jesus christ The john Oates mustache disapear!!!!!

  • No one can mess with Teddy P.! But I think he'd be lovin' this version. Great job H&O!! :)

  • Daryl...aged into SEXY!

  • Ummm........ WOW.

  • Darryl Hall looks like a lion now... and why does John Oates look like Prince????(or should I say "The Artist" :-)

  • Nice job Darryl, great version , however Teddy's version still reigns supreme. His deeper voice connects better on this song

  • Teddy's version still rules , a thicker voice comes across better with this song.

  • Teddy's version is still better but I tip my hat off to Darryl Hall - he is a genius!

  • Darryl Hall is a singing genius but Teddy's voice stiill comes across better on this song . Nobody was as smooth as Teddy.

  • Je vous adore !!!

  • "Knock me down I just come back for more!!!"

Someone must have just broke up with him before he went on stage, because he sings with such passion and from the soul

  • @mmillner81 Check out his Live at Daryl's House site where he does a concert in Jamaica with Maxi Priest & Billy Ocean. He just nails TKO. I can't stop watching it over and over. Never thought Daryl (anyone!) would be so sexy at 64!!

  • LOVE HALL AND OATES! SING IT BABY!

  • he did very well! i wasnt sure what he would sound like...i guess thats y you never judge a book by its cover

  • All I have to say right now is my prayers are with Daryl and John and the Hall&Oates community right now. T-bone Wolk, longtime bassist and collaborator, passed away yesterday. His is a talent who will be sorely missed.

  • @hthebolt Wow, I didn't know that until now:( That's really sad. What a talent.

  • Philly Soul...these guys live it...their niche'

  • A fantastic tribute to Teddy, long live Hall and Oates!

  • pow! they threw it down.

  • Rest In Peace, Teddy...

  • very good song alaina

  • ha!daryl put it down!

  • Fantastic version!

  • Teddy, you know your the best.......but Daryl and John ....sing this out!!!!!!!!!!! Their Paradise Island performance of this is even better than what your watching now.

  • sweet blue eyed soul music!!!!!

  • why can't it be brown eyed?

    think....

  • Teddy would be very proud of such a soulful performance.......

  • Great version of the Teddy P jam, Darryl Hall is one of my favorite soul singers period !!!

  • Daryl Hall - THE voice of Philly soul!

  • ONE of the voices, don't be rediculous

  • awesome

  • Talk about extending the metaphor ...

  • Is it just me or does he look like lion now?

  • raw soul

  • Great version! Anyone got there record on Arctic? PLEASE!!! Nice post!

  • Blue Eyed Soul? Check out The Jaggerz on my vids!!!

  • Daryl Hall can sing ANYTHING as far as I'm concerned and it will sound great! Teddy's version will ALWAYS be my favoirte, but this is great, too....

  • blue eyed soul inspired by a brown eyed genius...

    ladies and gentlemen

    Mr Teddy Pendergrass!

  • blue eyd soul taking inspiration from

    from a brown eyed genius....

ladies and gentlemen the one and ONLY

    Mr Teddy Pendergrass

  • Simply Love You Daryl !!!

    ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • Daryl and Teddy are Philly through and through!

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAMN they snapped

  • It Is GOOD....very good....by most peoples' opinion. Daryl's interpretation is always real...and personal...and raw. Have seen it done many times live...and always amazing. Always.

  • lord have mercy...the white boy can sing. Love you Daryl....from a Philly girl.

  • Wow, amazing!!! I can't believe this song doesn't exist on a DVD somewhere! (Daryl and John, are you listening?!) ;)

  • actually it does. There's a dvd that's been out for awhile now called Our Kind Of Soul Live that has Love TKO and a few others on there.

  • Thank you. :) I'll have to pick it up; maybe it'll be my X-Mas present to myself!

  • @hthebolt This version is much, much better than the OKOS record version.

  • Pure brilliance.

  • S I M P L Y A M A Z I N G !!!!!!!!

Daryl Takez My Breath AWAY Everytime He Opens His Mouth.

  • Now, that's what u call blue-eyed soul.

  • Very excellent version of the classic jam

  • what have u done? :O teddy is way better with this song. it doesn't sound bad but still.. and what's with the jump in the beginning :S

  • This is not good, they messed up a good song only teddy can sang it.

  • Hall's voice didn't used to have that rasp he lets loose with at 0:50. It sounds good. He's aged a bit, taken some "bumps 'n bruises" of his own, and it's put some gravel in his voice. Soul's not just about sounding smooth.

  • "bumps n bruises" LOL (that's funny)

  • I loved this song when Teddy sang it but Daryl and John do an amazing job sing this.

    Wow they are so soulfull!!

  • Um... is Daryl Hall okay at 0:24??

  • Dsryl & John don't get enough credit where credit is due for their renditions of the best classic soul song's of our time! There is only one "Hall & Oates!"

    Just love you guys!!!

  • Hall and Oates just TKOed me with that soul.

  • These are some bad ass white boys who get what soul is all about.

  • God i love me some Daryl Hall. One of the most soulful singers off all time. Black or white. LOve you Daryl!!!!!!

  • Some of the chords aren't succinct enough, partiuclary the sus chord that's in there. The groove isnt' quite right either, it's a bit too hip-hoppy, not smooth. The tempo is a tad fast as well. Couple of the inversions that Oates is playing is incorrect. I think they would admit that this could of been done a bit tighter.

  • yeah and this is all soooo important. My god, lighten up man....its not a music exam. I guess you with all of your great music theory you have had more success than hall and oates?

  • Daryl...... I am feeeeeling this!!!!!!!!

  • Helluva cover

  • listen hear this is white sugar time and tine againthe melodie is hot cotten candy

    what a joy.

  • lovely

  • amazing, soulful cover of a clasic. they just like chicago and the beegees when it come to covers. they get it done.

  • It's now Oct. 11, 2007, HAPPY 61st BIRTHDAY DARYL!!!

  • These guys are one of the most soulful groups anywhere. Their rendition of "Me And Mrs. Jones" is excellent also.

  • My favorite artists. LOVE them!!

  • daryl & john? you're my heroes! :)

  • Daryl sings this song so passionately, it looks like he's making love!

  • Daryl sings the song so passionately it's like he's making hot sex with someone!

  • dont think he could make a hash of a song if he tried - great he sooooooo well great!

  • ah ah ah..yep swing that body...only Daryl can do it best.

  • looks like daryl is doing a sissy dance with all the arm waves. whats up with that?

  • Daryl Franklin Hohl can do no wrong.

  • Why haven't I heard this before?? Great job!! Thanx for posting!

  • yummy yum yum..thank you for posting this one:)

  • The fact that they did the song at all is a tribute to Teddy..but, that said. Teddy is the man.

  • Daryl is always gorgeous! That is just a fact. I totally worship him.

  • I agree, my favorite part in theis performance is when he trys to act like he wants to fight a little, by putting up his fists as he gets really into the song etc. Daryl has such a hot bad boy side, that i love so much. Daryl your so sexy to me!!!!!!!!!!

  • kirazinn, I so agree with you! Daryl used to be skinny. When did he, and his arms, get so hunky??

  • Actually better then I thought it would be

  • This terrible rendition is TKO'd

  • i'm with you!

  • i'm with you!

  • This is a fantastic version of the Teddy Pendergrass hit. Wonderful!!

  • dam, he can't do it like pendergrass I'm sorry.

  • white soul song. pendergrass live version really was great. keep them coming.

  • Yes, please add more. Love their music and their live performances.

  • Amazing! One of my faves, thanks for posting.

  • please add more!!!!

  • Please add more from this performance!!

  • Excellent. Where'd this video come from?...

  • I don't have the original air date on this, but this is from when Hall and Oates appeared on Bravo. I got this from someone on the H&O message board under his clips of the week section.
