christ stop fighting over shit. the split happened in '83 why keep arguing over it. mustaine didn't write the whole album, but was envolved in a couple. what he contributed most was the guitar leads for the album. but after that his ties to the band where gone and he formed megadeth. kirk did the leads from then on and cliff did his. with lars and hetfield doing most of the writing as it was for all their albums. i do respect mustaine heavily for his drive but his stint in metallica was short.

Yeah mustaine is a monster on guitar,hes so good that if hes not 100% he can't play his own music,Kirk hammett is the one who played all the songs on the album though...Hes jus as good if not better at playing but isn't as creative as mustaine in my opinion...I have this cd in normal version black and red recorded in new york? and i also have one that was recorded in london...its silver with black writing on it...I was wondering if anyone knows the difference?cuz i personally can't tell...

Anyways, Kirk might play solos a bit cleaner because he's a lead guitarist and has more experience with it, since the 90's until now Dave didn't play lead parts as much as he used to in Metallica or in Killing is my bussiness and Peace Sells

Yes the first printing of the record was called 'Metal up your Ass' and the wide release distributor made them change it to Kill em All. The original cover had a machete sticking out of a toilet stool. It's chonicled in the film "Cliff 'em All".

Sorry, I should have said this was ONE of Mustaine's songs. This album wouldn't have been anything special without Mustaine's writing. Lars and James were looking to form a Budgie tribute band before Mustaine came along, who had the vision of thrash metal. Scott Ian considers Mustaine to be the creator of thrash, and he is right.

Metallica has created some good stuff over the years, but it was all predicated on the theft of a much more talented force. Megadeth > Metallica.

As far as singing is concerned, you would be correct. Mustaine isn't the better singer. However, Hammett cannot touch Mustaine in soloing ability. There's a reason Hammett flat out refused to play solos after the Black Album. He struggled with them since the beginning of his musical career. Hammett looked even worse when the brilliant Marty Friedman joined Megadeth.

Listen to any of the solos on "Rust in Peace". Better than ANYTHING Metallica ever did.
