  • The main problem, as we now know, same as in Afghanistan, was the attitude of Gordon Brown as Chancellor & then PM 2007-10. He opposed large funding increases and personnel numbers. And in Afghanistan refused to send enough helicopters and consent to more combat forces not exceeding a total 1,000 increase.
