  • I've always liked this song; out of everything released on the CD by Bear Family, this was about the only one I really cared to hear.

It comes to me now that when he drags out the syllables of the words, he sounds just like an air horn on a rig; I'm sure that may be more than coincidental, but it really brings the single together as a song.

  • Dads been gone awhile we still have his 1951 kw god bless you for posting this. I really miss him . Roger l Jeffers aka

    Diamond Jim

  • The original and best in my opinion. This is how we play it. Why Buck slowed it down, I have no idea. The word "driving" implies it should be fast. Thanks for posting this!

  • The flip side, "Don't Drop It" was the hit side. Ironically it's been forgotten and "Truck Driving Man" which never made the charts in 1954 is a classic. Go figure.

  • Thanks I have heard this by a few artists, especially by Leon russell!

  • Buck Owens recorded the best ever version. This is the original from 1954.I understand it is Buck singing harmony, and playing guitaar.

  • @welshhillbillyful Several artists reproduced this. Ricky Nelson did multiple versions. But one particular version from him stands out.

  • I use to have the above 45 when I was a kid. So glad that someone posted this old classic.

  • Wow. Great song & Rare 45. Thanks for posting
